MATH EDUCATION
SUGGESTED MINORS
Math Education prepares students for teaching mathematics in grades nine through twelve. Students who complete the Math Education program graduate with South Carolina certification in secondary mathematics. Students exit this program with an understanding of curriculum and instruction.
The Teacher Education Program is approved by the State Department of Education in accordance with the Standards for State Approval of Teacher Education established by the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification.

Most graduates begin careers teaching in grades 9-12 while some may continue with graduate education.
Advancement in administration is available. The program is approved by the South Carolina Department of Education.
Our Math Education program has a 100% job placement rate! Most graduates sign full-time contracts before graduation as a result of their student teaching experience.
