elicious, delightful, fun, friendly and versatile are a few qualities used to describe one of the newest additions to Lincoln Center, Nothing Bundt Cakes. The owners, Mike and Beverly Robinson, were introduced to the brand last November and fell in love with the unique product. Nothing Bundt Cakes’ menu includes nine standard flavors including the very popular Chocolate Chocolate Chip and White Chocolate Raspberry, with a new feature flavor every month. Stop in and try Pumpkin Spice through the end of November. Mike feels that Nothing Bundt Cakes and Lincoln Center are a “match made in heaven”. He describes his location, which is near Jamba Juice, Noah’s Bagels and Starbucks, as “energy row”! The “Bundtique” has a warm appeal that is suitable for all, with knick-knacks for every occasion. “With one stop you can pick up a card, cake and balloons,” Beverly stated. Nothing Bundt Cakes caters to almost all occasions, from holidays and birthdays to special events.

his is a special year for Best Wishes.
We have been blessed to be here in Lincoln Center for 25 years this fall and I can only thank each and everyone of you who have continued to support us daily, weekly, monthly. We will continue to Give Thanks each and everyday to you, our loyal customers and friends.
Julie Van Noate of Best Wishes
Those that know me well know what a traditionalist I am. Even my kids’ friends expect certain meals on certain days... but I guess there is nothing more traditional than the meal served on Thanksgiving Day. So here’s where I venture off. I’m seriously considering using the regular ingredients with a twist. As many of you know, my favorite series of cookbooks are “The Gathering of Friends”. The following recipes come from Vol. 6 “A Year of Holidays at Home”. They look delish and I haven’t had one fail me yet! Just a tad non-traditional, not too far off and all easy to prepare. Even the shopping list is in the book, along with pictures and suggestions for a beautiful table setting! All of the recipes can be made easily and served in your Le Creuset cookware, available at Best Wishes in the latest styles and colors. Join us for our Holiday Open House Sunday, November 16 and meet our representative Sherri. She will be here to demo and answer questions. So join me in taking a leap this year! Happy Thanksgiving! Happy Cooking! And Thanks to You.... Happy 25th to Us!

Bacon Wrapped Turkey Tenderloins
White Cheddar Mashed Potatoes
olive oil 2 tsp. dried rosemary 1 tsp. garlic pepper 6 1 lb. turkey tenderloins 1 lbs. bacon slices
5 lbs. russet potatoes ½ c. butter 1 ½ tsp. kosher salt 1 tsp. coarse black pepper ½-1 c. milk or heavy whipping cream 2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large stockpot, heat olive oil, rosemary and garlic pepper on high. Sear turkey tenderloins on all sides to seal in the natural juices and place on a jelly roll pan. Set stockpot aside to make turkey gravy after tenderloins are cooked.
Clean and peel potatoes; cut into large chunks. Place in a large stockpot and cover with water. Boil for 15 to 20 minutes or until tender. Drain water. Add butter, salt, pepper, cream and cheese. Mash to desired consistency and serve.
Wrap 3 or 4 slices of bacon under the turkey tenderloins and tie on top (as pictured). Bake tenderloins until thermometer inserted near center registers 160 degrees, approximately 45 minutes.

After a successful career with the Stockton Police Department, Dan and his wife Marvis opened Code 3 Wear last May at 222 Lincoln Center located between DeVons Jewelers and Planet Beach Automated Spa, which they also own and operate. Code 3 Wear is a fully stocked shop with all the clothing essentials needed for anyone in pubic safety. In addition to uniform sales, Code 3 Wear also offers ongoing service in the form of a maintenance program. uthentic Mexican cuisine with a twist, Tio Pepe’s new location boasts picturesque Spanish style décor featuring beautiful landscape murals. Located next door to Best Wishes at 329 Lincoln Center, owners and husband-and-wife-team Mario Flores and Sheri Riley-Flores want their customers to soak up the alluring ambience while enjoying their wide selection of savory dishes.
Sheri Riley Flores & Mario Flores of Tio Pepe’s
When dining at Tio Pepe’s, you’ll start out with their homemade chips and salsa, made fresh daily. Try the guacamole or bean and cheese dip, both great compliments to the slightly-spicy salsa. If you’re a soup lover, order a cup of the pork soup, unique and extremely tasty! You’ll wish you ordered a bowl, but be sure to save room for your entrée! The menu features an array of salads, lunch and dinner specials as well as the very popular Tio Pepe’s Special, consisting of a beef taco, beef enchilada, chile relleno and steak ranchero with a side of Spanish rice, lettuce and refried beans. No matter what you order, you can’t go wrong! To wash it down, they serve an assortment of soft drinks along with domestic and imported beers and distinctive wines. Sheri is quite the wine connoisseur, hand-selecting both local favorites and imported Spanish varietals. Eliseo Flores, Mario’s father, opened the first Tio Pepe’s restaurant in the 70’s, originally located on Lower Sacramento Road and Hammer Lane prior to their relocation on West Lane, before transitioning into Lincoln Center last June. Tio Pepe’s was designed with one thing in mind:

Fight the Flu this Season By Dr. Jonathon Forncrook, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics
With the welcomed arrival of fall and all the joy that the season brings, comes the much dreaded start of cold and flu season. Inevitably, once those leaves turn from green to brown, it seems that fevers, coughs and sniffles come to town. Don’t let flu season get in your way. Help ward off the flu by getting vaccinated. In addition to thoroughly washing your hands, getting a flu shot is the best way to guard yourself, your family and your community against the flu. Flu season begins in October and ends in May, with the highest infection rates in January and February.
Stockton’s Best 23 years in a row!
Anyone can get the flu, and for most people, symptoms last only a few days to a week. For young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with serious health conditions, the flu can be much more dangerous. That’s why it is important for all people aged six months and older to get immunized annually. A flu shot’s protection lasts about a year, and is formulated to match what is believed to be the most common virus that will cause the flu that year.
Dr. Forncrook is a physician with Dignity Health Medical Group Stockton, a network of health professionals providing high quality and compassionate care. For more information or to learn more about Dr. Forncrook or one of our other primary care physicians, visit StocktonMedicalGroup.org. or call 209.475.5500.
You can also help your body fight off illness by eating right and getting regular exercise. Making healthy choices helps strengthen your immune system. Make sure to wash your hands often to get rid of germs, and minimize contact with people who are ill. 320 LINCOLN CENTER • (209) 477-6881 WWW.GJLONGJEWELERS.COM

creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where customers can chat amongst themselves while enjoying true Mexican food. The top of their menu reads “Bienvenidos Amigos” meaning “welcome friends”. Walk in, take a seat and enjoy. Tio Pepe’s offers something truly unique: quality Mexican food without the distraction of television. “My wife didn’t want any TVs to distract from family,” Mario stated. Quality time with family is very important to Mario and Sheri, as they have three children of their own. Mario explained, “It’s nice to see a family talking and laughing together over a meal, rather than texting and watching television.” So gather together and come join Mario and Sheri for a meal. And for those on the go, Tio Pepe’s offers a take out menu as well. n
