Hollywood & Vines Program Book July 8, 2011

A Letter from Our Co-Chairs On July 8th the Women’s Board of Lincoln Park Zoo invites Chicago’s party animals to the intersection of Hollywood glamour and jungle beat inspired by one of the most historic corners in the world. From the star-studded Walk of Fame prominently spotlighting our generous sponsors and donors to the red carpet surrounded by paparazzi, Hollywood & Vines: Zoo Ball 2011 promises to be THE party of the summer. Thank you for joining us as we set the scene to honor the zoo’s amazing wildlife and worldrenowned conservation efforts. Your generosity helps Lincoln Park Zoo remain free and open every day of the year. We would like to extend special gratitude to presenting sponsor, Guggenheim Partners, LLC, for taking a leading role. We’d like to welcome to Gold Sponsor Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana BMW Centers, and celebrate the continuing support of our silver sponsor, J.N. Pritzker and the Pritzker Military Library/ Tawani Foundation. We cannot thank you enough for your support of Lincoln Park Zoo. Back to reprise her starring role as Corporate Chair of Zoo Ball, is ComEd President, Anne Pramaggiore. Her energy and enthusiasm have put Hollywood & Vines in the spotlight. Zoo Ball 2011 joins a long tradition of award-winning celebrations. From the fabulous Flamingo Lounge to the stunning Hollywood supper club, Hollywood & Vines promises to be a night to remember. None of this would be possible without the tireless efforts of the Women’s Board of Lincoln Park Zoo—especially our Leading Lady, Women’s Board President Abby Zanarini. You are the stars of this show! And as the curtain comes down on another spectacular Zoo Ball production, join us in applauding the feathered and furry stars of Lincoln Park Zoo.

Welcome to Zoo Ball 2011: Hollywood & Vines! Sure, movie stars are glamorous, but they can’t compare to the pink-plumed flamingos, the striking black-and-white zebras or the majestic silverback gorillas that make their homes here at Lincoln Park Zoo. Natural beauty always wins out. With that said, I’d like to thank all of you naturally beautiful people for joining me at this “star-studded” Zoo Ball, where we’ll dine and dance in grand Hollywood fashion. I’d also like to personally thank the Women’s Board for organizing Zoo Ball, which continues to be a highlight of Lincoln Park Zoo’s calendar and a favorite of Chicago’s social scene. Proceeds from tonight’s event will help the Women’s Board provide critical support to maintain the zoo as a community treasure. Congratulations to Susan Erler, Rosemary Jones, Kirsten Rider and the entire Zoo Ball Committee on this great success. Lincoln Park Zoo is free and open every day thanks to the support of our members, donors and volunteers who make all our accomplishments possible. I hope you are as proud as I am when you admire the animal collection at the zoo and when you learn about our conservation projects that span the globe. And I hope you join me in having a great time at Hollywood & Vines.

Kevin J. Bell President and CEO

A Special Thanks

The Women’s Board of Lincoln Park Zoo would like to thank Anne Pramaggiore, President and COO of ComEd, and Zoo Ball 2011 Corporate Chair for all of her support in making Hollywood & Vines a success!

A Letter from the Women’s Board President Thank you for joining us tonight as we celebrate Zoo Ball 2011 – Hollywood & Vines, an evening where the lush environment of Lincoln Park Zoo intersects with the glamour of old Hollywood. Congratulations to co-chairs, Susan Erler, Rosemary Jones, and Kirsten Rider and their star-studded committee. Each and every member of the Women's Board put in an award-winning performance to make Zoo Ball THE party of the summer. Special thanks to each of you for your support. Funds raised this evening will put us closer to completing our $2 million pledge towards Nature Boardwalk and help to keep Lincoln Park Zoo free and open 365 days a year. I hope you’ll come back to the zoo often with your friends and family. Spend some time with the real stars of the evening – the amazing animals of Lincoln Park Zoo.

Abby D. Zanarini Women’s Board President
