MIDDLE SCHOOL
Middle school is a time when girls are eager for choices — and at Lincoln, they have plenty. One student might opt for a creative writing class and choral ensemble while another chooses current events or robotics electives. Together, they’ll conquer a high ropes course at Thompson Island, participate in a weeklong engineering immersion, and visit the United Nations as the culmination of their human rights course. Individually, they’ll discover their passions and strengths. ST U D E N T S L E A R N T O TA K E AC A D E M I C R I S K S A N D T H I N K C R I T I C A L LY. We provide a rigorous learning environment designed to support and stretch girls in grades 6-8 at this crucial stage of their development. Our teachers create classrooms where girls feel safe stepping outside their comfort zones and learn how to be their own best advocates. Coursework tackles topics as diverse as sustainable development, Shakespeare, and algebraic functions, and girls discover how to think and act like scientists, artists, writers, coders, historians, and linguists.
STUDENTS EXPLORE WITHIN THE EMBRACE OF AN INCLUSIVE C O M M U N I T Y. The middle school years are a time of very active learning about oneself and relationships with others, and we ensure that students have the tools and guidance to have a happy, healthy experience. From our classrooms to our courts and fields to our enrichment activities, girls develop confidence, teamwork, and trust. Nobody cheers as loudly for their classmates as our middle school girls; their support for each other is palpable.
