The journey of LIND DNA started back in 2013 with the introduction of our first and eventually most famous and widely used design; the curve-shaped table mat. The idea back then was to create an innovative, decorative, and functional design for the table mat with the perfect dimensions to place a plate, glass, and cutlery. The shape is timeless
in design with a contemporary feel, and with its organic form it complements all types of tables, both round and rectangular, and everything in between. Today, the curve shape is synonymous with LIND DNA and now defines the design of many of our creations, extending far beyond table mats.
Carrying the Legacy of Recycling Leather Forward Through Generations
Behind LIND DNA stands the Lind family, whose passion for design and craftsmanship has shaped the brand. Since the beginning in 2013, LIND DNA has redefined home decor with the innovative use of recycled leather. It all started in Aarhus, Denmark, where they began expe-
rimenting with surplus leather from the furniture and fashion industry to develop durable and stylish home accessories. LIND DNA remains a family-run business, with Preben Lind working alongside his daughter, Mie Lind. Mie is responsible for the design process, with a strong
focus on Nordic aesthetics, creating simple yet sophisticated designs that reflect the brand’s minimalist roots. Preben, on the other hand, takes charge of bringing the designs to life, including construction and sourcing the right local suppliers.
Inspired by the Iconic Pattern of Corduroy
We’re introducing the new recycled leather Corduroy texture, new to the LIND DNA range. Inspired by the iconic pattern of corduroy textile, its unique horizontal lines create a striking visual depth, while the surface offers a soft, smooth feel. Thoughtfully crafted and embossed by hand
in Denmark — home to LIND DNA. Perfect for both casual and formal occasions, the recycled leather mats of the Corduroy Collection blend comfort with style. Being easy to use and clean, the design is both practical and elegant, making it the ideal choice for any setting.
Our Aesthetic Approach: Scandinavian With a Minimalistic Core
We design with a strong focus on minimalistic aesthetics, creating simple and sophisticated products that embody our Scandinavian roots. We continuously
develop new colours inspired by both current trends and timeless styles, ensuring our products remain contemporary, classic, and internationally appealing.
Corduroy is our exclusive recycled leather texture inspired by the iconic corduroy textile. Its horizontal lines create a visual depth, while the surface offers a soft, smooth feel. The material is 1,6 mm thick.
Leftover pieces of core leather from furniture and shoe production are collected to be transformed into our recycled leather.
From Leftover Leather Cuts-Offs to Curve
Our recycled leather is made from vegetable-tanned core leather leftovers from the fashion and furniture industries— for example, scraps from shoe sole production. This surplus material is granulated into tiny pieces, mixed with natural rubber, and pressed into our recycled leather. The result is a durable material that allows us to explore endless design possibilities in colours and textures.

We Take Pride in Designing and Crafting Recycled Leather Products Locally at Our Headquarters and In-House Production Facility in Aarhus, Denmark
In both design and production, we’re deeply committed to ensuring the highest quality and aesthetic standards for our products. This dedication is reflected in our decision to keep both design and production in Denmark. Whenever possible, we insist on our
own local production in Aarhus and to cooperate with local suppliers. This local approach allows us to maintain a hands-on role throughout the entire process, ensuring we uphold our standards while minimizing transportation related to production.
We Turn Waste into Worthy Products, Crafted with Quality and a Commitment to Care for the Planet that We Share
We’re dedicated to creating recycled leather designs from premium-quality leftovers, ensuring a minimum of waste. Our process focuses on extending the lifespan of the core leather, transforming it into a durable material with exceptional
longevity crafted exclusively from components found in nature—and we continuously strive to develop more sustainable production methods to care for both planet and people.

At the heart of LIND DNA, our OEKO-TEX® LEATHER STANDARD certified recycled leather stands as a testament to our commitment to both environmental responsibility and premium quality. By reimagining leather waste, we’re not only contributing to the reduction of environmental impact but also ensuring that each product crafted is done
so with integrity and care. OEKO-TEX® is an internationally recognized certification that ensures textiles and leather products meet strict safety and environmental standards. The certification focuses on verifying that materials are free from harmful chemicals and substances, making them safe for both consumers and the environment.
With a strong passion for responsible, natural materials, we design and produce in Denmark. With quality in focus, most of our designs are carefully crafted incorporating recycled leather as a fundamental component. A unique material that offers boundless design opportunities, remarkable usability, and a quality and finish, that lasts a lifetime. Whether developing products for use in private homes, hotels, restaurants, or office spaces our products
offer timeless design with Nordic aesthetics and function in mind. We want to challenge the perception of timeless design while demonstrating what new and exciting things are possible within interior design. Without compromising the possibility of pushing against conventional norms, we’re using a few carefully selected materials. Unnecessary elements are trimmed during the design phase, as we believe wholeheartedly in the timelessness of simplicity and responsible materials.
