Cricket Program Lindisfarne Sports Academy

ANGLICAN GRAMMAR SCHOOL

ANGLICAN

Introduction Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School acknowledges the commitment and sacrifices needed to achieve at an elite sporting level within any given sport. The Lindisfarne Sports Academy offers students the opportunity to excel in their chosen sport, and we are pleased to be able to add cricket to our growing list of sports excellence programs. Our goal is to continue to grow our participation in local and interstate cricket tournaments by improving the fundamental skill level of all our junior players and providing the opportunities for them to both grow and learn in a safe and supportive one on one or small group environment.

From this, we can grow our presence as a cricketing school, allow individual opportunities for success and, as a school, begin to partake in cricket tours to countries such as New Zealand and potentially (in post COVID times) the United Kingdom.

Program The Lindisfarne cricket program comprises of the following elements: •

• •

• •

One-on-one sessions with Cricket Coach Mr Anthony Kershler. A minimum of three per term will be offered to all students in the program. Lessons conducted in school time and every effort made to ensure students don’t miss out on assessments or the same lesson each time. Sessions developed to build on fundamental skills and focus on areas of improvement in the off-season and gameplay in the playing season. Sessions catered to meet each student’s needs with feedback offered after each session. A personalised report of your child’s progress emailed at the end of each term. Small group session on Wednesday afternoon from 3.30pm to 4.30pm with the objective of introducing live net sessions and building on basic cricket concepts by challenging players through game-based scenarios. Cricket as a sports option in Terms 1 and 4. Participation in the Douglas and Wyburn Shields, Queensland Schools Cup and the Phelps Shield. Nomination and participation in CIS trials and selections where applicable.

Coach Mr Anthony Kershler has been appointed to oversee our cricket program at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School.
