hello, and happy summer! My number one goal for this collection was to create paintings with YOU in mind! I wanted to create art that would speak to you, that would be a good fit for your own style and space and story. In these canvases, you will see paintings inspired by landscapes and places I love – places that make me feel at home and loved and inspired, and delighted by what God has made. My hope is that these paintings would bring you joy and comfort – that they would feel relaxing and soothing and a little like home to you, too! It’s also with great joy and handfulls of confetti that I introduce you to two new framing options available at lindsayletters.com – Barn Wood and Coastal White! I just know you’re going to love them, and they pair especially amazingly with the pieces in this new collection. From the very first spark of an idea up until this point, many of you have been following along on the journey of the making of this collection for a long time, and (as always!) I am so incredibly grateful for your kind words and love and support. I want to make art that blesses you, and so it’s my hope and prayer that these new canvases and new frames do just that. I whole-heartedly believe that what we put at on our walls – what surrounds us for most of the day – can totally be a game-changer in our daily lives! about this piece There is a humble little white barn super close to the road that parallels my subdivision. It’s honestly so close to the road and so covered by ivy, that I barely noticed it for the first few months I lived in Sun Prairie. However, when Laura came to visit (to shoot the Christmas 2015 Collection), we drove by it and she immediately mused, “Look at the beautiful texture on that white barn.” “White Barn??” I asked. I hadn’t even noticed it! But now, whenever I turn on to Norway Road, I glance at that barn. I noticed it’s varying layers of old white paint, the chippy texture and bits of moss and ivy... and I think about friendship, and noticing the little things, and how grateful I am that God has settled me right here.

about this piece I painted this abstract in honor of a piece of farmland on County Highway C. Whenever I see this field, I get all the happy feels – because I know I’m almost home. I love the pillowy white and soft blue sky, the textures in the grasses, and all of the possibility of the earth – just after the spring thaw and before it’s tilled. I named this painting The Heartland in honor of coming home to the Midwest after a few years of moving about, and also in homage to my church home – Heartland! All of the paintings in this collection are inspired by places that mean a whole lot to me – places that say home and heritage, calm and comfort. I hope they evoke the same feelings for you!

about this piece Laura Kackley is one of my dearest friends, and she art directed and photographed this collection (as with most of the images at LindsayLetters.com). Whenever I create a collection, both Laura and I immediately have our favorites, and this is Laura’s! Throughout the planning and preparing, creating and launching of this collection, I watched Laura go from being an excited and expectant third time mom, to walking through one of the hardest things anyone could walk through. Watching Laura’s faith in the wake of her miscarriage was terrible and humbling and inspiring. I watched her trust God with such an unwavering trust – a trust and a hope that I don’t think I can fully comprehend. Laura and Craig named their baby Rosie, and I cannot wait to party in Heaven with her some day. We decided to name this painting “Rosie Horizon” in her honor. I know I speak for Laura when I say that it is both of our heart’s desire that – when you see this painting – you would feel hopeful. You would feel not alone, you would feel comfort, and that you would be able to strain your eyes to see Beauty and Hope and Love, just waiting for you beyond the horizon.

about this piece Oh, how i love old signs! Especially the ones you see leaned up on a mailbox or a pickup truck at the entrance to a farm or home – no need for a proper hanging device! I also love numbers in art, and so I knew that primatively-written prices needed to have a place on these signs. This FRESH FLOWERS SIGN CANVAS and the PUMPKIN’ PICKIN’ SIGN CANVAS are the two debut pieces I’ve created in a collection that’s set to launch august 14th called “Sign Painter’s Daughter.” The idea behind it is that there’s a sign painter who is teaching his daughter his craft. She’s a bit shaky – she’s new to this after all! – but it’s that imperfection that adds a charm to the signs that make them all her own.

about this piece Around here, we LOVE fall! But, I totally get that not everyone is a fall-fanatic. Enter: BLUE PUMPKINS! I wanted to create something for my friends that aren’t all about the burnt oranges and earth tones that come blowing in right along with the smells of cider and burning leaves. This BLUE PUMPKINS CANVAS will be a delightful and unexpected piece in your home – a sure topic of conversation, you don’t need to wait until fall to hang these beautiful blues!
about this next piece My first ever field trip as a mom was a trip with Eva Love to a local farm and pumpkin patch! There’s something that feels so “at home” to me about pumpkin patches. (We even took our wedding photos in one!) it was a gorgeous Fall day and there were pumpkins and pumpkins – rows and rows of them, as far as the eye can see. It was lovely – just bright orange balls, speckled throughout the dirt and vines. When I close my eyes and picture it in my mind, the PUMPKIN PATCH ABSTRACT CANVAS is what I picture in my mind.* (*But with twenty bundled five year olds running and squealing and darting in and out of each of them!)
