LINDSAY LETTERS AUTUMN COLLECTION 2015 LOOKBOOK | Issue No.4
FEAST! So, we moved! Again! For anyone that’s keeping track, that’s Phoenix, Nashville, and now Sun Prairie, WI – all in a matter of about 2.5 years. And from the minute we pulled in our driveway, this place felt like home. Actually, the night we got here, we arrived super late. We were staying at some of our best friends’ house (90 steps away from our new place) because we didn’t close on our house until the next day. As I was getting in the door and taking my shoes off, Ashley woke up, came out and greeted me and said “there’s lasagna in the fridge. Welcome home!” As I sat on her couch late that night, looking out her window at the beautiful cornfield in the moonlight, eating the best homemade lasagna I’d ever had, I just thought: “THIS. This is why we moved here.” I wanted this collection to focus on gratitude, thankfulness, community, and appreciation for all that God has made. I chose the word “Feast” not so much as feasting on food (even though that’s awesome, too!) but more as a feast and indulgence in all that God has so richly provided. I’m not sure where this season finds you – satisfied, crazy, expectant, happy, grieving, restless, peaceful, stressed, free... but whatever it is, we know that gratitude is the fuel that keeps us going. Autumn is my absolute favorite! It’s not just the apple orchards and pumpkin spice lattes... but it feels like this is the calm before the perpetual Christmas (snow) storm of gifts and parties and errands and decorating and all. the. things. Autumn is everything amazing, without expecting anything in return. So, soak it in. Light a yummy candle, pour yourself a glass or a mug or a cup of something and take a deep breath. PSALM 23 CANVAS
I recently posted on Instagram about how this beautiful psalm was one of the things that helped me get through a tough time this past year. I was struggling with some depression, loneliness, lots of stress and fear. Thanks to some of your responses to the post, I was so happy to learn that I wasn’t alone. It seems that Psalm 23 has been a comfort to so many of us! I’m praying that this canvas will be a blessing to you or to a loved one – and that these words will continue to bring peace and rest. WHAT’S IN A NAME? There is something so fun and fancy about seeing your monogram or initial on something. It feels special, like a sense of ownership or pride... that it’s truly yours. For this fall (and coming Christmas, too!) I’ve created a special monogram wreath. Nothing says “Welcome, friends!” quite like a wreath, and a smart initial right in the center of the painting makes for the perfect, personalized touch. (This would make a great gift, too!)

SPECIAL THANKS We shot this collection at my new home in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and I really wanted to use local vendors as much as possible. All the florals were designed by Prairie Flowers and the baked goods were created by Carl at Market Street Diner – our favorite little breakfast spot. I’m so grateful for their help and artistry! I did import in my dear friend Laura (Lark Photography) from Kansas City, because she completes me, and because I can’t imagine styling and shooting a collection like this without her and her genius. And the people in the photos to come of the little dinner party are my actual real life friends. Thanks so much to Ash, Jenna, and Emily. I also want you to know that the five of us actually hung out and ate that food and drank that sparkly drink, and that no salad was left behind in the making of this lookbook.
