through Jesus we are perfectly right before God, all because we didn’t do it ourselves. Jesus did it for us!

The truth is that no matter how hard we try, no matter how much good we do, we will never be perfect. Even just one wrongdoing disqualifies us from heaven. Honestly, we commit many, many wrongs in life. So for the prospect of heaven, each of us has to admit, “I CAN’T do it by myself!” But we don’t have to do it ourselves! God tells us

The truth is that no matter how hard we try, no matter how much good we do, we will n e v er be perfect.

Therefore, brothers, be patient until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and is patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains. You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near. James 5:7-8

FELLOWSHIP EVENT

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY

Do you have a cell phone? Do you like fun? Centennial Lutheran will be having a Goosechase Photo Scavenger Hunt Family Night on Friday, October 21st at 7:00pm! We will gather in teams have a great night looking for all kinds of things to shoot (with our cameras, of course...what were you thinking we meant?) The winning team will win the chance to say they won! (or something else...we don't know yet.) So, bring your family out for some Christian fellowship fun! We will meet at church and conduct the hunt from there! For more details, please see....https://www.goosechase.com/

Women's Bible study will be changing days this fall. Please join us the FIRST THURSDAY of each month at the Krueger home (located next to the church) after church or 7:30 pm. First we will finish the “12 Extraordinary Women” study. October 6th, we will be completing the chapter on Anna (8) and Martha and Mary (chapter 9). We encourage every woman to be a part of this study group.

For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “ ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ” Acts 13:47 Did you read the newest “Forward in Christ” magazine? Wow, I loved it! Lots of information about home and world missions. Take some time to read about all that your synod and your pastors and fellow Lutherans are doing to share the precious “Bag O’ Wealth” with others. Come to St. Lucas on October 22nd and hear what is happening in the mission fields. Sean Young, Director of Missions, will be presenting based on Acts 1:8 “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses.” Come witness how you as members of the WELS are sharing the power of the Holy Spirit around the world and next door. The day begins at 8 AM with some breakfast and fellowship. Then on to some Bible study and our speaker. Please join me and many other witnesses from our neighbor churches. If you need a ride contact Danica Krueger. We also have opportunity to contribute to the financial needs of two mission projects that don’t receive funding from the Synod mission offerings. The LWMS world project supported by our circuit is providing a cow to pastors in Nepal.

The home project is for an equipment fund which provides funding for tables and chairs or office equipment for a new congregation. Remember how it was when you first got your apartment or home and needed everything. You may have been blessed with gifts from a wedding or graduation. This is our time to shower a new church with things they need. I will be collecting your gifts to add with the generous donations of member of other churches in our area. The collection will be taken on October 9th. A box will also be available in the narthex if you can also contribute gifts to the Furlough House. Theses gifts provide for missionaries who return to the states for a period of time. While houses are provided your gifts furnish items like paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates and baggies. For a much more detailed list of needed items use Facebook and look at the “LWMS Milwaukee Metro South Circuit” page. I hope you consider helping with contributions and/or coming to the rally on October 22nd. Danica Krueger—Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society

EVANGELISM

As Missionaries of Christ we bring everyone we come in contact with closer to the Savior!

Baptism Weekend Update:

Gifts for Kids Program Will Continue Too:

Our annual Baptism Weekend for the community was held on September 22 & 25. We had 7 children and one adult baptized on that day! What a blessing! Several parents of those baptized and the one adult are interested in membership. Pastor and I have set a BIC class for them starting Tuesday, October 4, at 2:00pm. We will need to set a time for an evening class as well. The Holy Spirit now will need to continue to encourage these folks to continue in their walk with Him.

We will still collect our annual Gifts for Kids Program. We will have the Giving Tree posted on the window of the library. Please pick an ornament with a child’s age on it, purchase a gift, wrap the gift and replace the ornament on the gift and return it to the large box in the church lobby. Please describe the gifts on the package if you please. Deadline is Sunday, December, 18th. Thank you for helping to make Christmas a little bit better for the children of the community. Bob Garbe—Minister of Evangelism & Outreach

Christmas Gifts for Mexican Children: We have decided to team up with WISCO and other churches in our synod to collect gifts for children in villages served in Sonora, Mexico. Your gifts will be shipped to WELS Mission to the Children (Arizona) for distribution to Sonora.
