Bespoke xylo cleaf bi-fold doors create a neat solution for a laundry room within a cloakroom.
Laundry Rooms are an integral part of any home from large family’s to individuals. Sometimes known as a Utility Room, a functional multipurpose space primarily used to wash and dry laundry, with a plethora of other uses including potting house plants, cleaning muddy sports equipment, my particular favourite cleaning bikes and coat and boot storage to name a few. It may be named a Utility Room but it certainly doesn’t need to look utilitarian especially as this is a room potentially that you could spend a lot of time in, add artwork and plants to soften the look and use a scrubbable paint for ease of cleaning. Even if you think you haven’t got space for a dedicated Laundry Room there’s often a solution to create a Laundry Cupboard. I love creating secret hidden areas that once opened reveals appliances and plenty of storage for cleaning equipment and materials. n 16 revealed

Children’s bedrooms are often multi-functional rooms used for sleeping, studying, relaxing and of course playing. Creating a fun, motivational personal space for a child or young person can be key for their personal growth and overall well-being. T
he bidet is believed to have been an invention of French furniture makers in the late 17th or early 18th century, but no single inventor gets credit for the idea.
Throughout the 18th century, only the wealthiest European homes had bidets, which were often decorated with fancy adornments such as rosewood veneer, gilded bronze and crystal flakes. In fact, when Marie Antoinette set off on her journey from Vienna to France to marry the dauphin in 1760, her coach was supposedly equipped with a bidet decked out with red velvet and gold embroidery. Although the toilet had existed at least since 2500 B.C., the bidet got people thinking differently about cleanliness. Hundreds of years later, the electronic bidet hit the market in 1960, combining the bidet with the toilet, and it slowly began to make its way into global culture. Japanese company TOTO created the TOTO Washlet, a more advanced version of the electronic bidet, which has sold more than 40 million units worldwide since the product’s release in 1980. All its aspects such as temperature controls, refine previous developments to perfection and technology varies depending on the model. TOTO’s Washlet warms itself up even before you sit down. As soon as you get up, it automatically switches to an energy-saving mode, reducing the heat setting to minimum. There’s even smart energysaving functions which automatically adapts itself to daily usage patterns. The temperature of the seat is automatically reduced at times when the toilet is only used infrequently. 40 revealed

water on the coating makes it far easier for the dirt to be washed away. A photocatalytic process is the next step in cleaning the toilet bowl. The UV light integrated in the lid combines with the water and activated oxygen to break down the dirt particles – keeping the toilet cleaner for a longer period of time.

But in tone with growing environmental consciousness, one of the key ideas behind the TOTO Washlet is that it benefits the environment by reducing energy consumption, as well as the amount of toilet paper people need to use. Brits alone use 15 billion rolls of toilet paper -- or the equivalent of 7 million trees -- each year. On top of that, simply producing the soft ply uses up more than 235 billion gallons of water, and then packaging and shipping require energy and resources too. n For more information visit gb.toto.com. T O T O’s Neorest Washlet has been used in the Grand Manor House Wing and Garden House Suite at the Rosewood hotel, London
Celebrities love TOTO! Stirling Moss is renowned for his love of technology and his home in London is kitted out with a Washlet; Willi.am pointed out his TOTO in his state-ofthe-art studio in California during a documentary and the Kardashians Instagrammed nonstop when their Washlets arrived.

teampunk heavily references historical precedent, blending elements of the late 19th century industrial steam-powered machinery, with the Edwardian era’s eccentric design tradition.
Recently, the Swedish design team Front were asked by the German manufacturer Axor to reimagine shower equipment, so in addition to the simple functionality of the fixtures, they also displayed all the parts usually hidden behind walls, including copper piping, valves, couplings and funnels, creating a sculptural presence, and Steampunk aesthetic. They challenged conventions by contrasting metal structures with elegant and complex angles, to evoke elements of an elegant laboratory. Front explain the inspiration behind the design for their Axor Showerpipe product. "When we started to think about our vision, about the Axor WaterDream project, we started to think about the basics, where the water comes from. We looked behind the walls of the bathroom and we found a hidden treasure, we found pipes and connections with endless possibilities. We also found a universal language where you can see where you turn on the water, where you turn it off,
