Оттуда изнутри, как сквозь лилово-голубую линзу, жизнь с непревзойденным качеством наполнила ее взор восторгом и удивлением, смыла следы обид и затянула трещинки сожалений, растворив дурные воспоминания о свинцово-серой обыденности.

She was a tiny stranger walking in a familiar world; like a worthless wind-up toy she moved within the intricacy of the majestic mechanism that is Nature. As she walked by, flowers blossomed and they were so delicate in texture they seemed transparent. The path was lined by blossoming primroses, which opened up to take on the form of a chalice. Enormous trees with huge leaves unravelled and the air was blue and clean; everything disappeared into the horizon of the candid sea. She ploughed slowly over a grassy ditch, rubbed the back of a bluish stone with her steps and polished the walls of a mahogany tree. She slipped inside a soft bed of periwinkle petals. From the inside of the flower, almost as if she were looking through a blue and violet lens, her eyes were filled with enthusiasm and wonder as she took in the incalculable beauties present in life. It washed away her regrets and dissolved her bad memories of a tedious life. She heard a rhythmic crushing noise similar to a continuous chomping and as she

Вдруг ее слух привлекла мелодия, которая превратила механическое жевание всего лишь в воспоминание, и она оказалась на извилистой тропинке, по которой направилась на эти гармоничные звуки. Она побежала вприпрыжку между белоснежными стволами вековых берез, когда услышала, что источник музыки все ближе. Но внезапно земля под ногами затряслась, и она вдруг поняла, что зацепилась за сучок выраставшего прямо на ее пути дерева и поднимется вверх. Она очутилась среди тонких ветвей, покрытых почками и длинными желто-коричневыми сережками, и наблюдала внизу под собой процессию сатиров с раздвоенными хвостами, которые ликующе дули в трубы слоновой кости. Повсюду, где проплывала музыка, загорался неописуемый свет, яркие блуждающие огни притягивали множество пчел, кружившихся в воздушном танце. Вся эта кавалькада привела ее на бескрайнюю поляну, где росли горделивые пестрые цветы: вихри лазурной огуречной травы и пурпурной лекарственной буквицы. Туда, где инкрустированные клены и ольха с прожилками, позолоченными чьей-то усердной рукой, низко склонялись шатром над их шествием, а ветви и листья выставляли напоказ свои кружева и арабески. Тут-то ее и настигло желание чего-то нового, в месте настолько неопределенном, как та комната, привычность которой давно уже размыла даже цвет ее стен.

As she hid behind the bush she spied on a huge Locust, which hunched over on a patch of dry earth was intent on greedily gobbling up anything in its sight. A leaf, pieces of wood, rotten fruit, it made no difference and nothing was able to satisfy the Locust’s appetite. She thought that the Locust would not be able to move for how much her appetite had weighed her down. From her hiding place she observed the Locust and was filled with a sense of pity for those who make no distinction and are content on swallowing everything that life feeds them. She felt pity for those who no longer desired or were not able to recognise the best, and for those who distracted by the humdrum of life allow their happiness to waste away day after day. Suddenly she was distracted by a more melodious sound which dissolved the mechanical munching noise and she was back on the path following the harmonious sound. The centenarian birch trees lining the path formed a passage and as she trotted along the lane the sound was louder and she reached the source of the melody. All of a sudden she felt herself elevated by a tree, which was pushing up from underground. She found herself among the branches budding with hanging yellow-brown flowers, looking down onto a procession of satyrs blowing into ivory trumpets. As the music passed the path was illuminated by little lights which came out of nowhere and similar to bright, little flames of light they attracted hoards of dancing bees. She was led into a field of splendid multicoloured flowers, a storm of blue stonecrops and purple betonies. Maples and alder trees with golden veins carved by a meticulous hand intertwined to form a ceiling for the passage and the branches and leaves danced together creating beautiful decorations. As she looked at the walls stripped of their colour she was overwhelmed with a desire to renew the room. The eternal PETALS IN A STORM A warm breath of air turned into a strong and unexpected wind, which brushed away the leaves and shook the branches. Pink petals whirled up quickly in the air. A single drop of water fell slowly and heavily from the ceiling until it splattered into spurts on the smooth surface of a stone. The Nature around her began to rustle under a sudden rainstorm, the ground bloated with

She was tired, tired of sleeping, but despite this she couldn’t open her eyes or move. As the memories began to come back, she realised that the night before she had fallen into a deep sleep, like she had never slept before. She could taste the sweet flavour of amazing experiences; her head was swimming with thousands of colours and surreal visions, which were the proof of something
