Close your eyes. Did you know that you can travel wherever you wish? I lose myself in amongst the ears of golden corn as they brush my face, like a mother’s caress on sleepless nights. The soft breeze that whispers of the mountain wind, the unyielding Tramuntana, ruffles the tight weave of my skirt. It flies up as I run around the threshing floors, while the men in the fields comb the land to the sound of the chug chug of tractors. Surrounded by the songs of peasants, I rest my gaze on the scene before me, on the figures bathed in a fusion of colours that the earth absorbs. Their hair is concealed beneath pieces of delicate cloth and their petticoats lift up behind them as they walk, to reveal their naked, sunburnt skin. The smell of rancid wine invades the morning’s blue sky. Feeling the fresh grass underfoot I am carried back to my roots, to my beloved land, the Empordà. The new Farmer’s collection is a dream accomplished, one that encapsulates my soul and personality, a return to my roots. The collection is, as a result, a tribute to the earth, to the essence of all things. Imagination gives way to a reality. Driven by the desire to create a collection characterised by simplicity, I took inspiration from life in the countryside, as an allegory of a child’s life. Just as the peasant works by the light of day, the child plays from sunrise to sunset. This contact with the physical world, the earth, the sun, has informed our designs, which focus on versatile and comfortable clothing. Experimental shapes and an attention to detail are present in all of the designs, under the banner of less is more. With nurture and comfort in mind, our clothes are made of natural and hardwearing fabrics, that come from the earth, such as cottons and linens. I work with textiles that reflect their roots, their very origin, whilst maintaining the sophistication and delicacy that marks the pure beauty of our clothes. I strive for transparency in my designs, which means that the manufacturing process is integral to all of our pieces. We strive to contribute towards local development, and are always conscientious of the need to work towards building a better world for our small people.

LCF is an adventure or a story. A journey or a dream. A journey that began in December 2011 with the birth of my daughter Ona. Her arrival saw my creative energy, which had, until that point been dedicated to architecture, reinvent itself as a desire to work within her world was sparked in me. Ona and my second child Roc are the inspiration behind the design of our clothes, where each garment is a small piece of art that brings sustainable values into the lives of our children and nudges creative and inspiring minds into action.
