Rock Hill, SC

The Thread is a 400,000 sf historic textile mill located in Rock Hill’s ‘Knowledge Park’ district. Converted into a mixed-use gem, the development provides new restaurants, retail and office spaces to support Rock Hill’s

GOAL

In the early phases of design, the owner, Springs Creative, needed a way to communicate the project’s vision and attract tenants. Our Visual Impact Studio collaborated with them to create targeted marketing tools aimed at securing funding and pre-leasing.

RESULTS

50% LEASED EARLY IN CONSTRUCTION

SOLUTION

With the client’s needs in mind, the Visual Impact Studio team collaborated with Little’s architects and designers to craft a comprehensive marketing strategy to showcase the project’s unique offerings. Our solution included a marketing video featuring interviews with key stakeholders, engaging graphics, and detailed 3D animations of the space, hosted on the client’s website. We also suggested a 360-degree VR experience, allowing future tenants to explore the space virtually prior to construction completion. In addition, a deck of photoreal renderings with integrated brand elements and drone photography was completed.

Redefining Organizational Success Through the VR Experience

Charlotte, NC

LOWE’S GLOBAL TECH HUB

Located in the popular South End District of Charlotte, NC, Lowe’s Global Tech Hub is a 357,500 sf transformational workspace that pressed forward despite the COVID pandemic.

GOALS

RESULTS

Early in the design development phase and as the pandemic neared its end, Lowe’s sought creative ways to achieve three key goals: entice current employees back to the office, provide employees with exciting updates on the design progress and showcase the workplace to potential new hires.

SOLUTION

Collaborating closely with Lowe’s and the design team, we developed a comprehensive VR experience that allowed users to explore the new Tech Hub from anywhere. Accessible via an Oculus Quest headset or desktop viewers, the VR experience highlighted key design elements and amenities, with “learning moments” embedded throughout, allowing users to experience a true, self-guided virtual tour.

The VR application was presented to thousands of employees and guests during firm-wide meetings, generating excitement about the new workplace and the return to in-person work. The desktop viewer was also shared with recruits, allowing them to experience the Lowe’s Tech Hub culture early in the hiring process.

Turning Capital Campaign Goals into Reality

WARLICK FAMILY YMCA

Gastonia, NC

The Warlick Family YMCA is a community hub for a diverse demographic, symbolizing progress and hope in Gaston County, NC.

GOALS

The YMCA needed a design partner not only to craft their new facility but also to help them reach their $15 million capital campaign. They were looking for a creative and innovative boost to enhance their typical fundraising efforts.

SOLUTION

Our Visual Impact Studio developed a suite of digital, campaign tools centered around the concept of “A Place To Be...” A video combined CGI renderings and animations with green screen-filmed actors, showcasing how the YMCA was thoughtfully designed for future members. A set of photoreal renderings provided high-quality marketing collateral for print and digital use, while an immersive web application allowed viewers to explore the new YMCA at their own pace.
