SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS

DR. HOLLY FERGUSON Welcome to Prosper High School Football, better known as Eagle Nation. On behalf of Prosper Independent School District and the Prosper ISD Board of Trustees I would like to welcome you to our great community and to tonight’s football game. I would like to extend a special greeting to the students, parents, and community members from our visiting school district as well as our own team as we share in an evening of celebrating the competition between schools. I would also like to thank our coaches for their commitment to the overall development of each of the student athletes that compete this evening. A good coach can change a game, but a great coach can change a life. The investment by the coaches on the field tonight comes from the heart to mold and develop the student athletes. The additional time and effort for student athletes should be applauded and admired. The work, dedication, character building and responsibility you see before you tonight will have a lifelong impact as each of these student athletes grows into adulthood. The moments that occur tonight are beyond special as these stories become stories that our student athletes will continue to tell through the years. Tonight, football fans will share a universal language that will exude passion, enthusiasm and raw emotion. Please remember how important the moments you have before you tonight are to our student athletes. Support them, encourage them, and help us teach them the love of sportsmanship. In the end, football is about unity and learning to work together as a team. There is just something magical about Friday Night Lights and it is my hope that you will enjoy your visit to Prosper ISD and live in the moment. As fans and supporters, we ask that you respect the efforts of both teams along with the officials as we enjoy tonight’s competition for there will be many young athletes and young fans observing and following your lead. As always, we appreciate your support of our students and wish you a safe journey home. GO EAGLES,

Dr. Holly Ferguson Dr. Holly Ferguson, Ed. D. Superintendent of Schools Prosper Independent School District

Please join me in cheering for the Eagle Nation and in being good hosts to the players, coaches, and families of the visiting team. A special “Thank you” to our students and staff in the Mighty Eagle Band, the Color Guard, Cheerleading, the Eagle Production Group, and Talonettes who have put in a vast amount of time and effort to prepare for our games and for the academic success of PHS.  Each of these wonderfully talented groups adds to the exciting atmosphere at our athletic events. With the incredible support of Prosper ISD Superintendent Dr. Ferguson and our Prosper ISD Board of Trustees led by President Jim Bridges, we are blessed beyond measure with the finest facilities, equipment, and coaching staff. Prosper ISD is a destination district because of the support of our Central Administration. Each year, our athletes fill the rosters of “All Athletic” and “All Academic” teams at the District, Area, Regional, and State levels. This is due to our athletic mindset that we win on the field, and we win in the classroom! A special thank you to PISD Athletic Director Coach Little for her continued focus on the Educational Athletics of our student athletes. I would like to highlight the families of our students and coaches who are the backbone of our programs.  Our students and coaches are able to follow their passions and fulfill their dreams both on the field and in the classroom because of your endless love and support.  Thank you for being the “12th Man!”  Enjoy the evening and Fight! Fight! Eagles Fight! For Kids,

Prosper eagle head coach

BRANDON SCHMIDT Parents, Students, Prosper ISD Staff, and Town of Prosper, As we begin this season, I am compelled to reflect on what our society has endured the last 18 months and what we continue to work through as we find ourselves in this ever-changing world. With that being said, I welcome you to the 2021 Prosper Eagle Football season with great anticipation and excitement knowing that the one thing that remains unchanged is the amazing strength, support, and general goodness of this community in Prosper, TX. We are proud to represent Prosper and will do so with integrity and excellence, as our Prosper Football culture continues to be foundationally built with three simple letters: DYJ (DO YOUR JOB). We expect our athletes to do their job in all aspects of life: on the field, in the classroom, in the community, and in daily life. We are full focus on exhibiting DYJ every single day, in all we do. DYJ represents who we are when no one is watching. I would be remiss to not acknowledge the amazing run we had last season, playing football all the way into January in the 6A Division II State Quarterfinals. Who would have ever thought Texas high school football would be playing after Christmas at the start of a new year?! Then, to be in our third overtime and see our team keep pushing was a memory few will forget, even though it turned out to be the end of a memorable season. Our players and coaches sacrificed holidays to keep the train on the tracks and I could not be prouder of their accomplishments. I hope they know they are building a legacy. Our theme this year is “Off the Rails.” This program has established itself by staying on track with core values that deliver success. Now it’s time to increase the speed and velocity and earn a legacy that most programs can only dream of. Being unstoppable and off the rails takes dedication, hard work, perseverance, and belief in the process. Regardless of how this season plays out, the 2021 Prosper Eagles football season will, at some point, come to an end. The lights will go out for the last time, tears will be shed as some play their last football game or say goodbye to their football family. Young people will suddenly become grown. In our program, we measure success not by wins and losses but rather by the people these Prosper Eagles become. We expect these young people to leave us with a servant’s heart while knowing and exhibiting the value of hard work, dedication, and what can be accomplished with perseverance. We recognize and celebrate the value of others and their contributions. Ultimately, we want to produce great people who have the tools to pursue their passions and be winners in the game of life. Finally, but most importantly, THANK YOU for your continued support of what we do through the Prosper High School Football program, which involves not just players but all students playing a role every single day to showcase “what’s right with the world.” Our program thrives and excels because the many hearts and hands of this community make light work. Thank you again for allowing us to represent Prosper and all it stands for. We hope you will join us by cheering encouragement from the stands, getting loud, and joining us for a season that we expect will be off the rails! “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” -Aristotle

PISD Athletic director

VALERIE LITTLE We would like to personally welcome our Eagles to Children’s Health Stadium! We are excited more than ever to kick off this season as we are finally back to full capacity and can ensure our Eagle fans have an amazing experience at each game. We are very fortunate in Texas to get back to athletics with our student athletes and Coaches. I ask you to keep in mind; this is much more than a football stadium. The lessons learned here through competition and teamwork will benefit our students for the rest of their lives and help them to become better athletes and better people, which is our main goal in Prosper ISD Athletics. Prosper ISD Athletics had another very successful year in 2020-2021 both athletically and academically. We ended up with two state champions in Aubrey O’Connell (Track) and LJ Richardson (WR) both from PHS as well as 3 State Runner-ups in individual events. We had 26 athletes qualify for the state level in their respective individual sports while 10 programs reached the state level of playoffs. At the Regional level, we had 16 programs qualify for Regionals while 16 individual athletes qualified. We walked away with 2 Regional Champions! To start their playoff runs, you must first qualify and make it out of your District. We had 24 of our programs achieve making playoffs this year. After their performances in and out of the classroom, we had 51 athletes receive full or partial scholarships in order to pursue their higher education over the next few years, which is a great testament to their commitment. Our students’ academic success is just as important to us as their athletic success. We are so proud of all of our student athletes and Coaches. No matter the outcome of tonight’s game, every student and student athlete involved appreciates your support while they perform and more importantly, afterwards, regardless of the score. Honor the Game,

Valerie Little Valerie Little Director of Athletics Prosper ISD
