Alfred Rowe’s family home was Dingle Field, one of four large mansions overlooking Knott’s Hole, a picturesque cove in the banks of the Mersey. He was the fourth son of wealthy John Rowe and had idyllic memories of Dingle Field, off Dingle Lane . The other residences were called East Dingle, West Dingle and Dingle Bank.
