s nomination NOW open High quality teaching is vital to the student experience at LJMU, so ‘The Amazing Teaching Awards’ are our way of saying thank you. This is your chance to vote for the person who has helped you to learn and improve academically throughout the year, but you don’t just have to vote for a teacher. You can also vote for technicians, librarians and support staff, as well as course reps who you think deserve recognition for improving your student experience. Nominations are now open and voting closes on Wednesday 1st May. To vote, just visit the LiverpoolSU website. There are six different categories, so take the time to say thank you to that amazing teacher.

“ An amazing teacher is someone who uses innovative teaching methods to create a generation of inspired and aspirational students”

“ An amazing teacher has to understand the individual, it is about knowing how to connect with that student.”

“ It is about making the subjects that you teach interesting so it engages students with your subjects.”

Student Officer Elections Every year the leaders of your students’ union are appointed through the SO Elections. They work full time throughout the year to provide an excellent experience for all students at LJMU. Student officers can choose to take a year off from their studies to work, or can work as a Student officer in the year they graduate.

NOMINATIONS OPEN 28 JAN & CLOSE 22 FEB

Now it’s your chance to get involved with this year’s exciting elections! You can nominate yourself to stand as a candidate in the elections to fill one of our Sabbatical positions or as a NUS Delegate, and LiverpoolSU will provide lots of helpful support as your campaign. Students can also vote for their ideal student officers from the nominees, from the date below. So, do you think you have what it takes?

VOTE BETWEEN 7-15 MARCH

WINNERS ANNOUNCED 15 MARCH

WHAT ARE SO ELECTIONS?

STANDING IS SIMPLE

Every year students are given the chance to elect their Student Officer team, who head the students’ union and campaign on their behalf to improve the overall student experience. Student Officers work full time throughout the year and are paid a salary. Students who wish to stand can either take a year out from their studies or, if graduating this year, can start after they have completed their degrees.

Every year students nominate themselves to stand to become the next Students’ Union Officers. Students then vote for their preferred candidate to win. Standing is really simple and you will receive lots of support to build your campaign.

If you are interested in standing to become the next Student Officer please email: queries@so-elections.com
