Estes Ranch

was establish in 1897 on the Texas/ Oklahoma state line near the communities of Shinnery, Texas and Madge, Oklahoma.

The ranch started out with commercial Herefords. Then in the 60’s we added Angus bulls to the operation for more hybrid vigor. Next, in 1978 we bought Simmental bulls to increase growth and maternal performance and started building our Simmental herd from the 1/2 blood cows. In 1981 the ranch purchased some purebred Simmental cows. Then in 1985 we purchased two 1/4 Simmental 3/4 Brahman bulls to start our Simbrah herd. Today we run 100 Fleckvieh and purebred Simmental cows and over 300 registered and commercial Simbrah cows. Throughout this period we have focused on developing a efficient low maintenance cow with excellent udder quality as well as a great set of feet and legs to cover rough terrain. Additionally we have been collecting carcass data on our calves for over 20 years. We have proudly increased our calves from 60% choice to 96% or better in 2022.

The cattle you see here today are a result of 5 generations genetic selection to produce the best cattle possible and will be a great addition to anyone’s herd.

Wild Track Cattle

was established in 2008 in East Texas around the town of Henderson, Texas.

While our time in the actual production phase is short, we have produced a variety of high quality cattle. Our history in the Simmental cattle industry begins in 1985 when my Grandfather started purchasing Simmental bulls to run on his crossbred cows to improve weaning weights and to produce females to be kept in the herd. At Wild Track Cattle we try to Produce Simmental and Simmental influenced cattle that strive in all aspects of the world, as we run Simmental and Brahman bulls on our Registered and Commercial Cattle. We run 75 registered cattle and 100+ commercial cows. Majority of our Registered Simmental cattle go back to Buzzard Hollow Ranch and Estes Ranch Genetics.

We strive to produce cattle that have the traits that we think are the most important. We want cattle that are fertile, easy keeping and can produce in the pasture and feedlot.

Estes Kero is probably one of the most eye appealing females in the entire sale. With 100% South African genetics which are getting hard to come by. She is sired by the great Bar 5 SA Hero, who is known for producing thick, moderate females much like Kero. Additionally, her dam is a BHR Haxold x BHR Three Sixes cross that has shown herself to be a producer and is also the dam of Estes Hefner, a young herdsire at Wild Track Cattle. Estes Kathryn is a polled non diluter fullblood female that comes in a thick moderate package. K3 is easy fleshing and sound made. Bold Cowgirl is a hard one to sell with donor cow written all over her! She is a blend of German and South African genetics that has worked extremely well for us. This female ranks in the top 10% in her growth EPDs. She recorded an impressive weaning weight of 790 lbs at 6.5 months of age and a yearling weight of 1180 lbs on her birthday. From a first calf heifer, she was raised with no creep feed in a record drought with very little rainfall in the time she was on the cow. Just imagine what this high performance female could do in normal conditions. Perry Faulkner and I paired to purchase a flush of T5 River Creek Babs (LCF Babs 286U x BHR Orange River) at the Magnolia Classic and flushed her to Bar 5 Hexagon. Red Oak Judi is one of the heifers produced from that flush.
