Dear Friends and Customers,
It is honestly a little strange writing this and knowing that this will be our last involvement with the Red Angus breed that has been really good to us for the last 13 years. We have been blessed beyond what we deserve with the people we have met and the relationships that we have built through the cattle. We would like to thank our customers that have put their faith in our program. Bull selection is incredibly difficult and it is a decision that WILL have a lasting effect for years to come.
“Maternally Focused Without Sacrificing Real World Performance”, is what you will find on the front of the catalog and what we feel has described our program best. We always strived to find genetics that would move our herd forward WITHOUT increasing inputs. We fed our cow herd just like a commercial herd (one pound of liquid protein and poor/medium quality hay) and found the animals that could excel in that environment. A wild EPD profile means nothing if the female won’t breed back and that is exactly what we found with many of todays “numbered-up” cattle.
These bulls have been fed 1.4 pounds of corn/100# of body weight, 1.5 pounds of liquid protein, free choice poor/medium quality hay, mineral, salt and water…. that’s it. This is the same ration that we have used for several years. Pouring increased calories into the bulls will make them look/sell better on sale day, but this comes at the expense of their longevity and profitability of the customer. You WILL NOT find 1400-pound bulls at our sale, on sale day. We could easily feed them more and achieve that. By doing so we would make the bulls less structurally sound and “nose-dive” in pasture when they should be breeding cows. These bulls will come to you lean and ready to work, just like we would want to buy bulls if we were in your place.
****Immediately following our sale will be the Dvorak Brothers Red Angus Bull Sale. Many of our bulls this year are sired by bulls from the Dvorak Brothers Red Angus Ranch (DVO). Tannon Dvorak has an unwavering devotion to creating and maintaining the most structurally correct and maternal cow herd in the Red Angus breed and we have been excited to use several herd sires that he has produced. It is an absolute joy to share our final bull sale with Dvorak Brothers Red Angus.****

DP ROSE`S MISS CARCASS 1609
This bull is the oldest bull out of the herd bull we own with Dvorak Brothers Red Angus, DVO First Among Equals. With Yeti on the bottom side and First Among Equals on the top, this bull should sire daughters that will stand the test of time and produce well into their teens. This bull is “right down the middle” in just about every category with a good-sized ribeye and he gained well on feed.
We have made this cross four times and this is the only bull born. Two of his full sisters were featured lots at our cow dispersion in November and both sold to Twedt Red Angus in North Dakota. His sisters were some of the best young cows we owned and this bull is one you will definitely find in the pen. Phenotypically correct with a great set of feet and will make very productive daughters.
We used the DVO Outspoken bull on one of the absolute best cows in our herd to see just what he could do. We ended up with one of, if not the only, true power-bull sired by DVO Outspoken. Phenotypically amazing with ratios of 102 weaning, 105 yearling, 108 average daily gain, 105 weight per day of age, 122
and 120 ribeye! I’m not sure what more we could have asked this bull to do.
Born the same day as the lot #3 bull and they weighed the exact same weight at yearling. We have screamed (with our tiny little voice) from the mountain tops the praises of the KDS Mr Carcass bull. He is the one bull we have found that ABSOLUTELY deserves his place on the Mount Rushmore of Red Angus bulls and very few know who he was. The 308 bull is a phenom with phenotype, EPD’s, and actual numbers to burn! 86 pound birth weight with ratios of 104 weaning, 103 yearling, 107 weight per day of age, 121 marbling, 111 ribeye, and all at a super lean .17 back fat! Maternal excellence with growth and carcass. Everything in one package! Had we not sold our cows, this bull would be staying here and running with our cows this summer for sure.

Here is a sure-fire, sleep-all-night heifer bull sired by the DVO Double Wide bull we leased last year to run on our heifers. The cow is from our Yeti line that produced some of the best cows in our herd. Calving easy, phenotype, and maternal power describe this bull best and he had the top marbling scan in the offering along with a ratio of 106 ribeye/100# of body weight.
The lowest birthweight bull in the offering at 70 pounds with style to burn. This bull ratioed 121 for marbling and 107 for ribeye/100# of body weight. Calving easy with quality carcass and an attractive, correct phenotype.
This is maybe the bull that would do the most good for a commercial herd but is the hardest to sell. He does not have any mind-blowing numbers but he doesn’t have any potholes either. Right down the middle on nearly every category and maternally bred on both sides of the pedigree is a smart option. Daughters should make great cows and the steers will be highly marketable. Moderate birth weight of 82 pounds.

DVO FIRST AMONG EQUALS 840J
The next two lots are going to be as much power as we can put in them while maintaining our maternal focus. Big birthweight bulls with great cows on both sides of the pedigree. DVO First Among Equals on the top and Gold Bar on the bottom should make some outstanding females. Big time growth with ratios of 115 weaning, 115 yearling, 115 average daily gain and 114 weight per day of age! This bull was born to a young cow unassisted as was his ¾ brother in the next lot.
Reg #4799274 DOB 03/01/2023
¾ brother to the previous bull and will be offered together as a choice between the two lots. Lighter colored than the 317 bull but very square and correct. Once again should make exceptional daughters and add some power to a cow herd that is maybe a little too small. Ratios of 107 weaning, 106 yearling, 104 average daily gain and 103 weight per day of age. This bull was also born unassisted to a young cow.

DP LOU`S GERTIE 1602
Another bull bred with maternal focus first and everything else second. Mom is a full sister to our Yeti bull we are so fond of and sired by DVO First Among Equals. There isn’t a more maternal pedigree on our place and this bull should produce daughters that will stand the test of time.
Another bull that is hard to sell because he is quite a bit younger than the other bulls in the sale. Many of the bulls in the offering looked just like him 2-4 weeks ago at the same age. The biggest ribeye/100# of body weight in the offering and numbers right down the middle make this bull a wise choice. Daughters should be excellent with the mix of DVO First Among Equals on the top and Gold Bar on the bottom. Don’t let him catch you sleeping simply because he is young.
