Katie’s namesake is a daughter of TJ 63H, our $12,000 selection and a crowd favorite from the 2020 Harvest Select Female Sale at Triange J. Her grandam, 5F, is a full sister to TJ Teardrop and an own daughter of 38W.
MF Flower was carrying Hilljack in utero when she sold as a bred heifer for $3,500. Represeting a productive and consistent cow family going back to a 3C Wally daughter Chris purchased from Leachman Cattle Co. in 2002, somebody was watching out for us when Janie Rowland purchased her as a cornerstone for her new co-op program in 2019 with Beech Mile Farm.
After weaning Hilljack at 798 pounds as a first-calf-heifer and raising MF/BMF Jasmine, a $6,000 sale highlight purchased by Gary Ross through the 2022 sale, we bought back half interest in Flower and her first flush created these two cow prospects. We’ve contemplated keeping one or both of them, but we’re expepecitng more Flower daughters so we’re willing to share.
