This Red Thunder son is out of a dam that goes back to Leader on her top side. He is very impressive in his natural thickness and structural correctness. He is heifer safe, scurred and is sure to put pounds on your calf crop. Although the pigment around his eyes isn’t abundant, his mother is freckle faced and his sire has a great deal of facial pigment. If you believe in it skipping a generation, his calves should be marked extremely well.

We really like the Red Thunder calves and this one has been a stellar standout in our 2024 calf crop. His mother is sired by a Leader son we purchased in the 2017 Gem State Sale from Eagle Canyon Ranch. 4045, affectionately called ‘No No’ by our grandson, is significantly marked and boasts a great deal of power in his physical makeup and muscle expression.

Pictured is dam of Lot 26, the donation heifer, and the Lot 11 bull.

We were excited to get our 2nd season of Houston calves and we were not disappointed. 4048 is out of a young Mandate dam, who I believe is gearing up to be a power house in our cow brood. She had an impressive heifer calf her first year and turned around and had this eye appealing bull calf in her second year of production. She has a beautiful udder and teats. He has pigment around both eyes and his dam and sire both are goggle eyed. 4048’s spread from birth to yearling EPDs is impressive with very solid carcass numbers.

RED WILLOW 31

We really like the Energize calves for their calving ease and growth. 4027 is no exception. His dam goes back to Merlin on the top side. These are easy doing cattle with a great spread between their growth numbers.

We had a friend talk us into trying Thomas Jefferson, who has a red gene, on some of our Red Angus cows. We were very impressed with his carcass data and wanted to try something different. 4005 is the only bull we got out of 7 calves and he does not disappoint. He is growthy with the numbers to back it up. He weaned off at 705 lbs. in August and weighed 1,025 the first part of November. He’s very correct in his structure with more than ample bone and foot structure. Never thought we would have a black bull in our lineup, but he’s too good not to show him off. He is in the top 1% of the breed for weaning, yearling and carcass weight, top 5% in REA and top 10% in marbling.
