Welcome
TO THE 27TH ANNUAL BET ON RED SALE,
2024 is setting itself up to be the most successful Bet on Red Sale we’ve ever had. The Western States Red Angus Association Board of Directors has worked incredibly hard over the last year to ensure that this is an event that none of us will soon forget. They have implemented so many amazing additions to our week in Reno. If there’s any year I could encourage you all to make the trip to Reno, Nevada, this would definitely be the year.
It is a true privilege to have the opportunity to work with the best Red Angus breeders in the country, in helping to execute the Bet on Red Sale. A genuine highlight of my year is the chance to visit with each and every one of you; to get to know your families, programs, and goals a bit better and talk about the exciting future ahead.
We are so blessed to be a part of a breed that is experiencing positive and rampant growth. The demand for Red Angus cattle is stronger than it has ever been. Cattle prices are experiencing positive movement, and the future looks bright in the cattle markets for the next few years. There may be no better time to find that up-and-coming donor or acquire a few breed-leading replacements to strengthen the herd and provide high quality bulls to market over the next few years.
With herd visits complete, I can without a doubt say this year’s Bet on Red will prove to be the best event to date. I am humbled by the willingness of so many long-standing, reputable ranches to consign their very best replacement females to the auction block in Reno. Top quality cattle come from top quality breeders, and I would challenge you to find a better set of cattle, embryos, and semen anywhere in the country. This catalog is packed full of some of the best Red Angus cattle you can find. We welcome all to a weekend packed full of great people, and breed-leading Red Angus cattle.
If you are unable to join us in Reno, please plan on tuning into DV Auctions for the Bet On Red Sale. If you need any additional information or assistance prior to the auction, be sure to contact myself, Garrett Knebel, or any of the other representatives that will be there sale day. Arrangements can be made with consignors to assist in delivering the cattle, or there will also be capable truckers that can be contacted to help get them home to you.
For those of you able to attend, we are looking forward to an incredible event in Reno!
With Sincere Appreciation,
- Garrett Knebel

C-T Red Angus is honored to donate this heifer right from the top of our 2024 heifer calf crop. We have been long-time consigners of the “Bet on Red” sale and appreciate all the work people have put into this event to make it a success over the years! We feel that the lucky winner of this heifer will be excited to put her in their herd. 4001 is a C-T Reputation 0094 daughter that looks the part with a beautiful phenotype, a sharp front end, plenty of muscle and volume, along with a great foot and leg set. The Reputation cows are starting to come to the top, with one already entering our Donor lineup. Her dam is a Justice cow that we purchased at the Big Sky Elite Female sale from Green Mountain Red Angus and has been an excellent producer with a 102 MPPA at 10 yrs of age! Don’t miss the opportunity to win this impressive heifer!

This heifer is an exciting opportunity to buy one of the first Raider 2020K females to sell. She comes with an extreme amount of muscle and shape, and a beautiful foot and leg set. She has a correct set of lines and extra capacity with a mother cow look all about her! She is backed by one of our extremely maternal cow families “The Chris Cow family” Her dam comes straight from the top of the Lost Creek Red Angus program and was our pick at the 2021 Prestigious NILE sale. She is a moderate framed very correct cow that has built her a 103 MPPA. Her sire HRP Raider 2020K was our pick of the Hansine Ranch Bull sale in 2023 purchased with Klompien Red Angus. He is a Complete 7000E X One of a Kind 352 son with extra length and style. His first calf crop has grown out nicely; both bulls and heifers coming to the top. Don’t miss this exceptional female with breed leading EPDs and a “Stop you in Your Tracks” phenotype.

Here is a Jumpstart heifer that has caught my attention since she was a calf. She has the look of a mother cow about her, with a wedge front end, lot of capacity, and extra muscle. She moves freely and steps right into herself. If you like a quiet disposition and one that is easy on the eyes, she may be on one of your favorites. Sired by the up-and-coming young herd sire Bieber Jumpstart, will ensure that she will become a productive mother cow that will work her way to the top of about any herd! Her dam is a Feddes Maggio daughter stemming from the Proven maternal “Vrdale cow family”. With a picture-perfect udder and loads of capacity, this heifer has a very balanced set of EPDs and nearly a 650 lb. WW. Don’t miss her on sale day! She has been one of our favorite heifers and just may be yours!

418M is one we have been excited about since birth. Her dam, Miss Hobo 024H, a direct daughter of Pie Quarterback 789, is one that exudes show ring presence and commands your attention. She has produced three stellar heifers over her first three years in production. The first was retained in our herd and is possibly even better than her dam, and the second had lots of fans at last year’s Bet on Red and sold for $9,750. 418M follows the pattern with striking femininity and fundamental soundness anyone could get excited about. Her sire, 6R Dynamic, is another of our favorites, and a son of past WNRAS Grand Champions on both sides of his pedigree. We love the massive hind leg and foot, tons of middle and dimension he puts in his calves. Dynamic’s performance and dimensionality, together with the style of her dam, make 418M a unique blend of genetic value and show ring appeal.

The Copperlasses have always been standouts in our program. Progeny have won every major show in the West, including Reno, and Denver at its height, and have consistently sold at the top of the Bet on Red. Another Copperlass was the Junior Calf Division Champion in the 2023 Western National Red Angus Show and second high-seller in the Bet on Red at $14,500. 402M is show heifer all over. She’s as long as a freight train, exceedingly stylish and feminine, with real, three dimensional shape from the side. Her mellow disposition paired with an alert bearing make her the perfect partner for a competitive showman of any skill level.

For those that visited us in Troy, Idaho this summer, it shouldn’t have taken long to realize that we’ve turned it up a notch at Bar H Ranch. With around thirty E.T. calves born this past spring from our most potent donors, this was the deepest set of bulls and heifers we’ve ever had. That said, when Garrett came through, he picked this stunning, dark red Flashback daughter as our one and only lot to consign into the Bet on Red. Bold, powerful, big ribbed, and cowy, she’s built to run with the best of them, having an immaculate foot, extra substance of bone, and an elite level of flexibility. Very feminine and attractive in her design, we think the world of this female, and expect her to only get better with time. Her dam, NIO Verdi 9094, is a John Wick daughter we sourced from Niobrara Red Angus, and she created our most exciting calves this year. Backed by the tried-and-true Flashback bull, his daughters continue to stand the test of time with phenomenal foot and udder quality. Come and find her in Reno, NV. You won’t be disappointed!

We’re very excited for our first Bet on Red consignment! Here is a full sister to DUFF Rizz 22271, the high selling Red Angus Bull in the 2023 P+ Bull Sale. Her mother, 1B, was a cornerstone of the Red Angus program at Duff Cattle Company before we purchased her in their 2023 Female Sale. Her daughters we saw on the ranch were more than convincing. Her sire, DUFF HD 2046, the high selling bull in the 2022 P+ Bull Sale, needs no introduction. This female embodies substance and femininity. We truly value cattle that are efficient and powerful, yet flexible and comfortable. This heifer is just that. Show her, breed her, and watch her generating power work for you.

This is Garret’s pick out of 14 full sisters. Her sire is a tremendous outcross sire from Lacy’s program with great feet, eye appeal, and carcass. Her Dam “H0336” puts out 30+ conventional embryos every time and is a beautiful cow with perfect udders. Not often, if ever, do you get the best pick out of 14 full sisters that is outcross, flat out sexy, near perfect EPD profile, on the best feet on a red angus female that you’ve ever seen. We are insane to let this one go. Due AI for March 1 to Alternative 21041 (Reg 4570265). A Black Red carrier in the top 1% for ProS that is incredible to look at.

When Ludvigson had their complete female dispersal sale 3 years ago we went and spent three days before the sale to find their best phenotypic females in the offering. The “G9174” cow just jumped out every time. We would argue the best one out of 1,700+ head that sold. This Jumpstart daughter is going to do it all and then some, and on great feet! 1% WW, 1% YW and 3% HP for the cherry on top.

This January heifer calf is right out of the heart of Bianchi Ranches program going back to their cornerstone Baneberry donor purchased from Wildcat Ranch and the infamous Silveira’s Mission Nexus. She is as clean fronted and slick neck as they come, coupled with the body and power of any great female. She moves around with grace and ease; raised in the foothills in rough country she will do good in anyone’s cow herd. A female that will defiantly excel in the showring and then go on to become a great cow.

This heifer is absolutely exceptional, originating from one of the most influential cows in our herd. Her dam is renowned for consistently producing high-quality females and herd bulls, and a maternal sister was selected for last year’s sale. Not only is she an ET calf from the highly sought-after bull Pie Quarterback, but her phenotype alone speaks volumes. She is incredibly long, stands on an ideal set of feet and legs, and boasts impressive bone structure. This high-performance female exudes style. We have three other full sisters that we’re excited about, but we believe Garrett chose the best one to showcase in Reno. Her temperament is outstanding, and we anticipate she will become a powerful maternal asset, delivering top-caliber calves each year, just like her mother.
This beautiful Reputation daughter comes right from the top of our 2024 ET calves, and boy does she put it all together. With her gorgeous femininity, bold spring and depth of rib, and overall length and power, she will be a front pasture kind of cow. Her sire, Reputation, has already made quite a statement with his breedleading calving ease and performance metrics. We are very impressed with the consistency and style of his calves and are very excited about his daughters. This heifer’s dam has been one of the most prolific donors in our herd and is the matriarch of one of our top cow families. She will be 17 years young and still going strong with a 103 MPPA. She has never missed and was just confirmed bred Al, yet again, for the 2025 calf crop. We believe this heifer has all the potential to carry on in her mother’s footsteps and be one of those cows that really has an impact on another herd and on the breed. We would like to retain the right to a future flush, at our expense and the buyer’s convenience.

“Fancy” is the best way to describe this heifer. From her smooth-made front end, powerful lines and structural correctness to the way she moves in the pasture, this heifer knows she is special. Her sire is our Definitive bull who is currently standing at ABS. Definitive continues to provide superior calving ease with very good performance and carcass, but his true legacy is his daughters. Our Definitive daughters are becoming some of our very best cows, both in our registered and commercial herds. They are fertile and have absolutely beautiful udders. The dam of this heifer is a two-year-old Deep End daughter who did a great job on her first time out. We feel this heifer would be very competitive in the show ring, and then go on to be a very productive cow.

Her 2 year old dam is beautiful Treadstone daughter with a perfect udder, great feet and did an incredible job on her first calf. She boasts a great set of EPDs with added growth and carcass. Her sire, Markets Up, was a high growth and high phenotype son of Stockmarket son that made many friends the day he sold. We used him heavily and sold semen all over the country on him to other purebred breeders. He stood in a class by himself when evaluating him around sale time. Jeff Pettit in Kentucky purchased him. We have continued to use him and believe he may be the best Stockmarket son to date. What an opportunity here. One of the very first Hollywood heifers to sell and if they all look like this, we are excited for the future. 4411 has a gorgeous front end, extra rib shape and capacity and plenty of hind quarter. An extremely feminine female with enough power to raise the right kind. We believe this heifer will be able to compete in the show ring and will most likely end up in a donor pen somewhere. We would not have let her go if we didn’t have full sibs and embryos in the tank. She boasts 12 traits in the top 31% and 8 in the top 9%. Her dam is none other than Feddes Blockana 704 and she is a maternal sister to Feddes Treadstone 9352 who was one of our top selling bulls in 2020 and is working at Lelands. His daughters are proving to be top cows in many herds all over the country. 704 has risen to the top of our donor pen with an MPPA of 109, a very solid set of EPDs, a perfect udder and a fantastic phenotype. This is where maternal meets performance. We are extremely excited about this mating and believe the future is bright. No need to go on and on about this one’s many striking attributes. Simply put, she’s super balanced and complete. It has been easy to spot her out in our green pastures with her sharp silhouette complimented by her sought after dark black cherry hide. Magnolia was the easiest calf in her group to halter break, and her mild temperament would be ideal for any junior exhibitor, or any producer that insists on mellow cattle. Her dam was purchased in the 2022 BOR and came back to Reno in 2023 to compete in the Roy McPhee Futurity, where she was selected to stand in the champion drive. Clearly, our BOR purchase made a quick return on our investment with her first calf. I would expect her daughter to do the same.

Lots of look, capacity, performance and standing on excellent feet; this gal is a sweetheart. DKK Sheba 0123 is the essence of Klompien cow herd; and Sheba 4081 is her first daughter.

Once this heifer settled in after weaning and halter breaking, she keeps impressing us and we can’t wait to she how she matures. You’ll be hard pressed to find one that’s is more structurally correct and as long-bodied as KB Yankee 5124. Her dam has consistently thrown some of my favorite heifers and bulls and this heifer reminds us of her mother the most. Not only that, but her sire, Duff Smash 2145, has limited semen being offered. This heifer is backed by some great cattle and she’s one that will be profitable from the get go.

When we had the opportunity to flush Twedt’s U-2 Rainbow 417C donor, we jumped on it and knew exactly which bull we wanted to use. This dark red, powerpacked young female offers as much mass, density, rib and body as any heifer calf we raised this year. With a cowy, maternal look and an extra sound structural build, she’s destined into someone’s donor pen. Our now deceased herd sire, Duff No Regrets, made quite a splash recently, siring the $49,500 High Selling Bull in our 2024 Bull Sale to Barenthsen-Bullinger & Berwald Red Angus. Twedt picked up 417C in the U2 Dispersal, and she’s done a phenomenal job in their program, placing heifer calves into the North Dakota Select Sale and a longstanding herd bull at Harmony Hill. Make sure to find E29M on sale day; these are the two most exciting females we’ve ever brought to Reno.

Abigail A7180-4001 is another super fancy made, long fronted daughter of the Canadian outcross sire, Red MRLA Respect 42G. Full sib embryos also sold in ’22 to Justin Morris in GA, and last fall a 3/4 sister sold in the Bet On Red to Mike Hein in IA.

Crickett 4181 is a more moderate heifer but she packs a punch in quality. From the time Garrett picked her out she has just gotten better by the day. She is really refined through her front end and ties smoothly into a bold center body. That progresses back with distinctive levelness from hooks to pins and finishes out in a square stout hip and quarter. This heifer will work well in whatever situation you want her to perform in. We are sure excited about this year’s sale pick! 2401 is from the Fayette cow family, which has become one of my all-time favorites. These cows are some the most functional cattle we’ve got; moderate, lots of volume, exceptional feet and udders, and consistently breed back on time. Her dam is a beautiful 3-year-old cow, posting a 102 MPPA with her first two calves. She weaned a big bull calf her first year, kept her condition, and bred back early as a two-year-old. 2401’s grand dam is an awesome 13-year-old cow that still has the feet and udder structure of a 5-year-old. Her sire needs no introduction; the Drifter H10 bull caught the industry by storm last year and produced several high selling calves.
