Welcome Cattlemen and Cattlewomen, The Blubaugh family is delighted to offer you this outstanding set of bulls and replacement females at our new auction facility in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Our family has been in the cattle business here in Kay County since 1893.

Marvin Blubaugh, my grandfather, alongside my father Cletus Blubaugh successfully operated a commercial auction barn in Tonkawa for many years. My grandfather, Murray Scott built one of the very first bull test stations in Oklahoma. Murray began breeding performance Angus cattle with his seed stock, which he had purchased from U.S. Senator Robert S. Kerr. My Dad and I have been in all phases of the cattle business in our lifetimes; cow calf, stocker, feeders, and pure bred seed stock. The last thirteen years we have been building a top quality registered Angus herd. Our cow family mostly originated from the Whitestone-Krebs ranch in Gordon, Nebraska. A majority of our herd sires originates from the Schaff Angus Valley herd in North Dakota. We have also Artificial Inseminated to the best performance bulls for many years. The cattle we are offering have been specifically bred to be performance cattle. These cattle are the rancher kind. They will calve easy, grow fast, and tip the scales. Our goal is to produce seed stock cattle that will perform in real world conditions and that can wean off a big calf that will perform at all phases of beef production. These bulls and heifers have been developed on Purina Accuration as well as wheat pasture, and are in great condition. Each female sold will come with your choice of one straw of semen from our AI stud bulls. CARING FOR YOUR BULL 1. FEEDING: Remember - The bull is a yearling or a long yearling and still has some growing to do. Feed the young bull well. Hay and grain plus protein supplement will be adequate. You should feed 5 to 10 pounds of grain and 1 to 2 pounds of protein supplement in addition to a full feed of good quality hay from now until the start of breeding season. Supplemental feeding during breeding season is recommended if practical. After the first breeding season, continue to feed liberally so the bull will grow out well.

2. BREEDING SEASON: Plan to use the new bull in a restricted 45- to 60-day breeding season the first time. Observe him closely to be sure he is serving and settling females.

3. NUMBER OF COWS: The yearling bull should be used on a minimal number of cows or heifers. The number should be governed by his age at the start of the breeding season. The following is a guide: BULLS AGE 12 – 15 MONTHS 15 – 18 MONTHS 18 – 24 MONTHS 24 – OVER 24 MONTHS
