FALL HARVEST SALE

Saturday, November 2, 2024

1:00 PM · Springfield Livestock Marketing Center 6821 W Independence Dr. Springfield, MO 65802

On behalf of Ruble Cattle Services and the Missouri Simmental Association, we would like to welcome you to this year’s fall sale. We have an excellent set of Simmental and SimAngus cattle in the offering that will promote Simmentals in MO. We have worked with the MSA diligently over the last year to top the lots of previous sales. You will see a great selection of MO Simmental members and supportive out of state members. Our visits to the MO Simmental breeders and the Regionals have paid big dividends. Every category in the sale is loaded up with quality. We know you have a choice of many sales, but this one will have something for everyone. We have focused on bringing you cattle that will pay dividends right way with cow/calf pairs and top notch breds. Our focus of the bulls has been to include a nice selection of many older bulls that come to the sale ready to service many cows and heifers with more realworld performance. Missouri is a great cattle state, and we welcome all the support and the increased involvement from the MSA board members and sale committee. Barry Holst and the sale committee set the table for a successful sale. The MO Fall Harvest Sale serves as a marketing vehicle for Missouri member’s cattle and genetics throughout the year. Come to the sale this year or give us a call, and I promise you will be glad you did. Please come on Friday evening to attend the annual meeting. Thank you to the MSA Board and the sale committee for allowing us to represent such a high-quality set of cattle and genetics! We will have fast affordable trucking. We will be following the local health guidelines. Please call us with any questions.

We decided to flush Sable after her daughter, VLF Samantha 59K was campaigned successfully for Cinch Dowling. Samantha was in the top 10 at the South Central Regionals, reserve champion in the junior show and champion in the open show at the Ozark Empire Fair as a calf and repeated her success as a senior yearling! She was also a division champion at the state fair junior show. Sable is simply a dense made, well balanced beast of a female that has an excellent udder and is sound as a cat under a big foot. This mating with the extremely popular baldy KBHR Revolution should make some exceptional progeny with great numbers.

She was one of the top picks of open heifers at Triangle J 2022 fall sale. She is a beautiful cow with perfect feet, udder and posture. The two mated together will produce a calf that could compete in any show ring with numbers and power to fit every commercial operation. This mating was one of the top matches using RightMate technology. CCR Primal was the lead bull at Cow Camps 2024 spring bull sale that really caught my eye. He is a great compliment to TJ 190K. His great feet, structure and fluid mobility matches up and stamps everything this cow brings to the table. Cow families on both sides make this mating the exceptional option for any commercial operation looking for their next donor bull or lead bull for their sale. Busi’s dam is a wonderful Broker cow we bought from Badger Creek dispersale many years ago. Busi is a bigger framed heifer. I bred her to RVR Rogue, thinking he will help improve her EPD numbers and produce a stellar calf. Our Rogue calves so far this year have been early and small, which is perfect for a first calf heifer. He is a Hook’s Eagle, so growth should not be a problem with that calf. This one is a hard one to let go! Seth showed Sparrow very succesfully for 2 years, and won more purple ribbons than we can count. She had many admirers. She is out of our best cow, and the only one we ever flushed, Robins Kiss. Her sire is the hot bull Exit 44. Her pedigree speaks for itself. She is an easy keeper, and her last few months of showing she was on pasture only because she gets fat on fescue! She should follow in her dam’s footsteps and raise a stellar calf year after year. We bred her to LCDR Reserve, hoping for white faced heifer to carry on the winning tradition. We won’t know what we got until after this goes to print, so look for an update on our facebook page around her due date, Oct 17th.

We have not consigned a bull to the state sale that we can remember, however Ruble personally requesed Az for this sale. We are so impressed with him, we used him to clean up recips last spring, and bred a few of our heifers we are keeping back to him (the first one is due in December). He had a very suscessful show career, and was admired by many. We could have sold him numerous times, but we wanted to keep him to show him up to state fair. He was reserve in his division at the MO State fair. He is stellar to look at, and his pedigree is proven. His sire is another bull we showed heavily and used on a handful of females. Take a look at his pedigree; nothing but great bulls and females run deep. He should be safe on heifers, so use him on everything. We sell a lot of bulls private treaty, so trust us when we say this guy is impressive and his calves will impress you! His maternal sister sells as lot 3, so you can see just how deep the quality is on the dam’s side.
