We met Patrick in 2017 after he called looking for a purebred Simmental donor to headline his emerging SimAngus program. At the end of the first conversation, I knew he was looking for a better cow than we would want to part with if we had her in our herd. He visited Martin Farms with a trailer in tow, and he left that day with the female I consider to this day to be the best cow that’s ever walked our pastures. Her name is MF Pink.

Standing in the lot that day, Patrick asked me who I would flush her to if I could use any bull out there, and my first thought was 1682. At that time, 1682 had a long waiting list for semen, but he was pretty sure he had access to some, and as soon as he got Pink home and got her set up, Pink was flushed to 1682.
Patrick was initially disappointed with only six calves fro m that mating, but that number doesn’t tell the whole story. A flush sister to Lot 11 was a sale highlight of the 2019 Open House sale as a bred heifer. Taylor Farms’ senior herd sire is a flush brother. The other sister, 66F, will go into Patrick’s donor pen this fall. We had to twist Patrick’s arm a little to get this one!
65F is phenotypically what you would expect from this mating. She is moderate framed, exceptionally thick and easy fleshing, and she stands on good feet and legs. Her baby by the hot, young, baldy AI sire, Reserve, has a ton of potential whether it’s a heifer or a bull. Here’s a SimAngus pair backed by a dam that’s being set up for another flush at 14 years of age, bred to one of the hottest young sires in the breed... What more could you want in one?

What an opportunity to have two direct daughters of MF Pink in the sale this year! To be half sisters and both be SimAngus, you might expect them to be more similar, but these two Pink daughters are by two very different types of sires, and they’re very different types of females. That doesn’t mean they’re not both pretty dang good!
Indigo is a flush mate to the deceased HSCC/MF Black Camo bull we sold as an embryo and then bought through the New Day bull sale for $10,500. We lost Camo before we got to see how much he could have done for our program, but we got a glimpse of that potential through his full sister. ET sons of Indigo sired by Mainline and Proclamation were our top weaning bull calves two years in a row!

MF PINK
Selling 4 Grade 1, unsexed, conventional embryos. This was a successful flush that produced MF Grass Roots, MF Gravitas, and MF Gateway. 100% of the proceeds from these embryos will benefit the Kenneth Ambrose Memorial Heifer Scholarship program in youth vouchers.

If you like cattle that are a little bigger framed with more gas in the tank, Indigo is that type. She’s a high octane, heavy milking female, and mated to the right bull, she will make herd bulls with extra frame and extra pounds. She sells RightMated to Bridle Bit Resource and carrying a definite herd bull prospect! Resource is the sire of the exciting Bridle Bit Recharge that sold for $100,000 this past spring sale season. This is a mating we think will click.
Indigo has been flushed three times, averaging 11 viable embryos per flush. She has sons working as herd bulls for Chris Pitts of Erin; Wayne Aldridge and Kevin McGehee of Lewisburg; Whitney Willis of Hillsboro; Fox Farms, Centerville; Jack Beaty of Jamestown; H&H Cattle, Vinemont, AL; and Ray Bean, Eastaboga, AL.

Jules is the lead-off heifer in a good group from Toy Hill. She scored a 5 G+ ACE RightChoice accreditation, and with her stellar numbers and perfect trait scores for feet and disposition, she makes a solid cow prospect for any program.

Curious Georgia has been a head turner since the day she hit the ground. She’s a friendly heifer with a sweet, docile nature and a set of numbers you can sure work with. Phenotypically, Georgia is really sound made and fault free in terms of structure.

368H was one of the first females we purchased from Triangle J, and at the time we had planned to expand to include a springcalving herd in addition to our fall calvers. That hasn’t happened, so we’ve made the decision to try to consolidate back to fall calving for now. She raised a nice heifer last year we are keeping as a replacement, and she’s done a nice job with her Justice bull calf at side this year.
Lot 30 / 30A comes as a three-in-one pair featuring a February bull calf that happens to be one of the very first by HA JUSTICE, the high-selling bull on the 2022 Bred For Balance sale.
