Welcome to our 20th annual production sale
I am not sure where 20 years have gone, but I know we could not be in this business without the support of our customers, family and friends. Thank you to all who have supported us on our way to reach this milestone. We appreciate your interest and belief in our program.
As you know, the cattle business is not for the faint of heart, but our commitment to raise the bar on every set of calves we produce has left us with a cowherd that gets it done year after year. We have been doing embryo transfer to propagate our best cow families for over 20 years. You don’t have to dig very deep to find top donors in the pedigrees we offer. Over one-third of our offering is a direct result of ET. This presents an opportunity to buy a direct daughter from our top cows, or you can use full brothers to increase consistency in your calves.
This year also marks the fifth anniversary of switching to our fall sale. We have received positive feedback about our extra-aged bulls that are developed slowly. The age advantage allows each bull to service more cows and thrive throughout the breeding season.
This set of bulls has never been offered for sale. We cull hard for structural and disposition issues to ensure you get our absolute best genetics. We are happy with the cattle presented in this catalog, and we find it rewarding that some of our top bulls and heifers are sired by bulls we have raised.
Join us for an after-sale social!
The bulls spent part of the summer at home on pasture without supplement and the remainder of the year in the feedlot. The bulls have passed a breeding soundness exam, and we are offering the same policy regarding breeding guarantee. Look at the sale terms and conditions page to familiarize yourself with these terms.
The heifers in this sale spent the summer on pasture with no supplement. We are pleased with how they have come along, and they will be in excellent shape going into winter. We pride ourselves in the quality of our cowherd, and we expect these heifers to reflect that. As an added feature, we are offering every baldy heifer born in 2023. The heifers were ultrasounded for calving dates in September and then were palpated closer to the sale to confirm pregnancy.
We are starting a new venture at this sale, with hopes to expand in future sales. We are helping to market our customers’ bred heifers. This year, we are beginning on a smaller scale and are excited to showcase what our genetics can do for our customers. If this is something that interests you, please visit with us. We’d be happy to help if we can.
Our sale is a video-only sale; no cattle will be brought through a ring. This method has been a great way to have the sale at the ranch without building a facility. The advantage is no cattle will be moving during the sale, so you are free to view them as long as you like.
Consider visiting with us about our offering or stopping at the farm to view our offering prior to sale day. We would like the chance to help you select the right bull or heifer to fit your operation. We enjoy talking about cattle and welcome any questions. We look forward to visiting with you and welcome you to the ranch on Nov. 18.

We are not responsible for any accidents, damaged, or stolen items on sale day.
We reserve the right to collect up to 100 units of semen on any of the bulls, for in-herd use. The semen will be collected at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Disposition: We have given each lot a disposition score, based on our interactions with them. A score of 1 or 2 means we’ve had an easy time handling and managing these animals. A score of 3 or higher means those animals need to be handled with more respect and have a larger flight zone. Please note that as animals age and are handled in different environments, their disposition can change.
Breeding guarantee: All bulls in this sale have passed a breeding soundness exam by Dr. Lyle Kenner of Northern Veterinary Service in Linton. We will cover injury or infertility of your new bulls that would prevent them from breeding through the first 60 days of the breeding season. To be eligible, bulls must bring $3,000 or more. A salvage value will be deducted from the purchase price and either a replacement if available or sale credit at the next sale will be provided. Management issues, such as poor nutrition or frozen scrotums, will not be eligible. We ask that customers make us aware of issues as soon as they occur, and we reserve the right to request a veterinarian assessment.

ABOUT THE COVER
Our talented nephew, Daniel Schumacher, of Linton, North Dakota, drew the artwork used for this year’s cover. The cow-calf pairs are BCLR Miss Yankee F871 (front), and BCLR Miss Intuition J155 (back) and are drawn as they appeared on pasture this fall. Daniel is a self-taught artist who specializes in wildlife and scenic paintings and drawings. Rockin H Captivate J75
I can’t say enough about the Captivate bull. Siring about 1/3 of this year’s offering, you can tell how highly we think of him. He is one of the quietest bulls we have worked with, usually demanding a scratch whenever we check his cows. He is a big-framed, long-bodied bull that has the rare ability to sire both calving ease and performance. The Captivate sire group is among the best we have produced, and we are just getting started. He has complimented our donor battery exceptionally well and works on many phenotypes with consistency. With an outcross pedigree to popular sires of the past, he is a “must-use” bull. His daughters appear to have high-quality udders developing, and to say we are excited to calve them out is an understatement. Here is your opportunity to select from the largest offering of sons to date or be one of the first to purchase a bred heifer by this outstanding herd bull.
Lots 1-4: This year’s offering begins with some of the best red bulls we have produced. The F870 sons are the darkest red, most powerful sons of Captivate in our offering combined with the best foot quality and dispositions.

IVF FLUSH OF ANY COW IN OUR HERD
It’s become a tradition to offer the pick of our heifer calves each year in this sale. Some top breeders have selected our best heifer calves. We have also proven that heifers of this age can fit into any breeding program, so consider finding your next donor potential female in our heifer calf pen. We will have a complete list available upon request. We will allow you to wait until spring to make a final selection. Last year’s pick was a Forge x F830 daughter that went to the Lazy C Diamond ranch. We reserve the right to a flush or a split of two flushes, resulting in at least 6 transferable embryos, at the buyer’s convenience.
Our donor battery has advanced to the next step as we move forward with cows we’ve bred and raised. Several are daughters of past donors, and some are from dependable cows we’ve always wanted to flush. We have many outcross pedigrees with respectable and balanced EPD profiles that anyone can work with. We will work with you to identify the best option for your program. Previous offers like this have been successful for the winning bidder. One example would be Rydeen Farms’ selection of our E704 donor that produced two sons who now reside at Werning Cattle Company of South Dakota. We guarantee a minimum of six transferable embryos, with an open top. Flush expense is the responsibility of the buyer.

Acclaim was our selection and the second high seller in the 2024 Cow Camp Ranch sale. We admire Acclaim for his balance, eye appeal and muscle. He is very fluid and sound in his movement with the foot quality and disposition required to be a herd bull here. When we plan mated him to our cows, he elevated the mating in every situation. As a result, we used him heavily in the pasture and plan to flush extensively to him in the coming year. This is the only semen we will offer in 2024, so don’t miss the opportunity to get in on this unique breeding piece.

Commercial Bred Heifers
It’s always been a goal of ours to help market our customers’ females. When we were approached about selling bred heifers in our sale, we came up with a model that we think can work well. Moving forward, we will advertise and market our customers’ bred heifers in conjunction with our production sale. These females are either sired by or bred to bulls we’ve raised. Please contact us if you are interested in working with us to market your heifers.
13 COMMERCIAL BRED HEIFERS FROM LE ROY CIRCLE W RANCH
Jim and Mitch Le Roy, of Underwood, North Dakota, are fifth- and sixthgeneration farmers and ranchers who have been investing in Bichler Simmentals genetics for the past several years.
The Le Roys have selected 13 commercial bred heifers to offer out of their own home-raised replacements. The heifers have been on an extensive mineral program since being weaned as calves and were caked through the summer.
10 red SimAngus commercial bred heifers AI’d on May 28 to BCLR Bond. Due to calve March 6, 2025.
3 black SimAngus commercial bred heifers pasture bred by BCLR Manifesto J8182, due in May.
On Aug. 29, the heifers were ultrasounded, poured with Clean-Up and given Vira Shield 6 Vl5. On Oct. 25, the heifers received their first round of scour shots and Dectomax Pour-On. On this same date, the heifers were ultrasounded again for a confirmed pregnancy.
All ultrasound work was done by Johnson Veterinary Clinic of Mandan, North Dakota.
Heifers will be kept at the Le Roy Circle W ranch before and during the sale. There will be a video of the heifers on DVAuction. If you’re interested in looking at these heifers in person, you are welcome to visit the Le Roy Circle W ranch ahead of the sale.
The Le Roys would consider wintering options if buyers are interested. Questions can be directed toward Mitch at 701-315-0617.
