The Next Generation of Maternal Power
Brock and I would like to welcome you to our 2023 Bull and Female Sale held at the Basset Livestock Auction. We will be offering 6 long yearling bulls and 5 open heifers. These bulls and heifers are all out of first-calf heifers that were selected for time-tested maternal genetics. Angus families represented in this group are Blackbird, Donna, Elite, Pow, and Blackcap. We put in over 18 years of mating to these families to get this group of first calf heifers and their calves which are offered in the sale today.

When Doug Carlson and I decided to disperse Carlson Cattle Company in 2021, there were multiple reasons from retirement to increased responsibilities in my full-time job. However, we did not want to forget about what we had instilled in the next generation, with that being Brock. Brock was a part of over 20 different sales that we put on over the years and this business excites him and keeps him motivated, and I enjoy seeing that. Brock and I plan to run around 30 very high quality and genetically impactful cows over the next several years, and if market and customer base allows, he can grow it as big as he wants.
