Performance Progress People

Sale Format:

Bulls will be penned in groups according to type and kind. Base prices of $2,750 will be assigned to all bulls offered in this sale regardless of which group they are in. When the sale begins we will bring a group forward and we will be auctioning “Choice” out of that group starting at the base price of $2,750. After 1st choice is sold and picked off, next “choice” will be sold until the group has all been removed. The next group will be brought forward to repeat the previous process until all the groups have been sold.

NOTES

Location:

Good Farms is located 4mi. east of Olsburg and 1 7/8 mi. north to dead end on Oak Grove Rd. or 1 mi. west of the Hwy.13 and Hwy 16 West junction to Oak Grove Rd. then north to dead end.

Sale schedule:

Friday, March 14th the bulls will be on display starting at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:30 to 12:30. “Angus choice sale” begins at 1:00 p.m.

Delivery and pick-up:

A $50.00 per buyer discount will be allowed if purchases are picked up the day of the sale. We will feed all other bulls free for one week after the sale and then a $2.50 per day charge will apply. Bulls can be delivered free up to 50 miles from Olsburg if arrangements are made. We will work with you on economical delivery beyond that point if necessary.

Health/ Management

All bulls have received IBR, PI3, BRSV, Spirovac VL5. 7 Way Blackleg and at least two rounds of Ivermectin or Dectomax. All bulls are tested for Brucellosis and are tested negative for persistently infected (PI) BVD. All bulls offered in the sale are free from Arthrogryposis Multiplex (AM), Neuropathic Hydrocephalus (NH), Developmental Duplication (DD) and Contractural Arachnodactyly (CA) genes. (Based on American Angus database ancestral search.)

Fertility and Guarantee:

All bulls have been fertility tested and checked for overall health and soundness by Dr. Lee Penner DVM, Manhattan, Kansas and will sell as guaranteed breeders for the first breeding season, through 9-15-2014. This guarantee does not include loss due to injury, abuse, neglect, illness and or acts of God (lightning, flood, etc) In the event a bull is not a breeder, he will be replaced if possible or credit will be given on another bull at a later date.

Semen interest:

We reserve the right to retain 1/3 semen interest on any bull that is sold.

We look back over time and marvel at the years of Progress and Performance we have made with the cattle, and the wonderful People that he have met and dealth with over the years. Even though we have been raising and selling Angus seedstock since 1961 this is only our fifth sale using the “choice” format here at the farm. Since 1961 we have been selecting our cattle for traits that are economically important to commercial production. Cattle that grow rapidly, breed back easily, are durable and sound on their feet and legs, and have heavily muscled, high quality carcasses are our goal. With many years of selection of these traits we feel that our cattle have built in performance that will pass on when used in your commercial cow herds. The “choice” sale format explained in this catalog will be used again this year. We hope that you will find it a fair, simple, and low stress way to purchase the bulls that will fit your program. This is a very good bull. Deep and long bodied, with top end performance and excellent muscling. Highest yearling weight epd in crop.

This is a really thick soggy, meaty, moderate framed bull wtih tremendous performance. One of the top weaning and yearling weight bulls in crop. Every year his dam raises a calf that is tops in performance!
