Welcome to the “Share the Gold” 19th Annual Bull Sale. We are very proud of what we feel is our deepest set of bulls. These early born bulls were 6 months old before they saw their first green grass. Our December-January born bulls give up normally 100 pounds of weaning weight compared to February-March age group. They have expressed their growth potential with a moderate grow ration. We feel these extra aged bulls raised in harsh conditions give them a longevity advantage, while being able to maintain condition in various climates.
As cattle come and go, one thing remains the same, and that is the climate and environment that your cattle run in stays the same. We strive to use the maternal bloodlines that are proven to thrive in harsher environment with less supplementation. Our December-January calving sorts the hard doers and the infertility out very fast because they must re-breed before green grass sets on.
This program has never chased certain fads that seem to come and go in this business. We have been very steady with one goal in mind, and that is to produce maternal, fertile females that will raise more pounds at weaning.
The high cattle market is here, and there is no better time to maximize your potentail with strong genetics. These bulls are extra aged and capable of covering their fair share of cows. Viewing of Cattle:
The bulls will be available for viewing by appointment any time prior to the sale. Bulls will be ready for viewing on sale day by 9 AM.
Video Auction Sale Procedure:
All bulls selling will be penned at the sale facility. The auction will be conducted inside the sale barn at Black Gold Genetics Headquarters. A video of each bull will be played on a large screen display as the animal sells. Cattle will not come into the sale ring. Please arrive early to view the sale offering.
Supplement Sheet:
A supplement sheet will be posted at www.blackgoldgenetics.com the week of the sale including any updates to the sale book. They’ll also be provided at the sale.
Sale Day Phones:
Liability:
All persons attending the Black Gold Genetics bull sale do so at their own risk. The sale sponsors, sale manager, and Black Gold Genetics assume no liability for accidents, theft, injury, sickness, or damages occuring during this event on site of Black Gold Genetics.
Sale Terms:
Cash or check on sale day. Bulls are to be paid for directly following the sale. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over information printed in the sale book. Any disputes will be settled by the auctioneer and his decision will be final. All cattle sell under the standard terms and conditions recommended by the AGA, AAA, and RAA.
Health:
All bulls sell with a valid health certificate that will allow shipment anywhere in the continental United States. All bulls are selling virgin bulls. All bulls have been tested PI BVD free. Bulls have received all appropriate vaccinations and any applicable boosters. All bulls have recieved Ivomec pour-on prior to sale date.
Ultrasound Data:
Ultrasound data was collected December 31st, 2024.
Semen Check & Guarantee:
Each bull is guaranteed to settle healthy, fertile females and have been semen tested. Should any bull be claimed a non-breeder the recommendation of the AGA will apply. However, this does not preclude us from making adjustments that are mutually beneficial to both parties.
SHARE THE GOLD BULL SALE
Bull Delivery:
Semen Interest:
Retaining 1/3 semen interest in all bulls selling unless otherwise noted. Buyer will take 100% possession, 100% salvage value. Semen collection, if we select to do so, will be at our expense and your convenience during the off breeding season. Should the buyer choose to collect semen on the bulls, the expense and semen will be 100% of the buyer. At a later date, by mutual agreement, if semen sales are a possibility the mutual agreed on expense and revenue will be split 1/3 Black Gold Genetics and 2/3 with the buyer.
Genomically Enhanced EPDs:
The Genomically Enhanced EPDs listed in the sale book were obtained from the American Gelbvieh Association, the American Angus Association, and the American Red Angus Association and are current as of 2/20/2021. EPDs are subject to change with updated data processed through the AGA, AAA, and RAA between sale day and registration transfers. Weaning weights provided are adjusted weights calculated by the respective associations. All bulls have been Genomically Enhanced through Geneseek. EPDs being enhanced allows for greater accuracy of EPDs.
Black Gold Genetics will deliver all purchases free of charge within 200 miles, or central points in Colorado and adjoining states. We will try to coordinate between multiple buyers so bulls can be delivered conveniently and efficiently to the buyer. Deliveries can be scheduled from shortly after the sale date to the end of April.
Bring your own trailer and deduct $100 per head if hauled away day of sale.

Volume discounts will be applied accordingly: • 5% Discount with the purchase of 5 or more bulls

Black Gold Genetics Guarantee
First Breeding Season Guarantee:
We stand behind all of our bulls and want you to be satisfied. All of our bulls have passed a fertility soundness exam, unless indicated on the sale block. The first breeding season is guaranteed against injury.
• If any bull purchased in the Black Gold Genetics Bull Sale or private treaty is disabled during the first 90 days following first turnout as a young bull, the following will apply
• If your young bull is temporarily unable to complete the breeding season, if possible, Black Gold Genetics will provide you with a loaner bull without cost to you other than transportation of the bull from and back to Black Gold Genetics.
• If your bull becomes permanently disabled, Black Gold Genetics will provide a loaner bull with the option to keep the loaner bull or Black Gold Genetics will allow credit (not exceeding purchase value), minus $2,000 will be applied toward the purchase of one bull in the next Black Gold Genetics sale. Buyer keeps the salvage value. Should the bull you purchase cost more than your credit, you pay the difference. If he costs less, no further credit is due.
• In the event of death during the first breeding season, a credit of 50% of the sale price will be applied at the next sale of a bull.
• This guarantee does not cover illness due to neglect.
• If you have a problem, please notify us as soon as possible since we try to keep a few bulls available in case your new Black Gold Genetics bull is disabled the first breeding season.
• The end of the first breeding season guarantee shall be September 1st
Sight Unseen Guarantee
If you are unable to attend the sale, a bull can be purchased for you on order during the auction. Please call Mark in advance of the sale to discuss the price range and the type of bull you are looking for, and he will recommend the bull or bulls that will fit your needs. If you don’t like the bull when he is delivered to your place, he is not yours and the money paid will be refunded. If the bull can be purchased for less than your maximum bid, you get the bull at the amount he left the ring at, just as if you were bidding yourself. Each year breeders take advantage of this free service. Call if you would like more information or a reference. For sight unseen satisfaction guarantees, you must purchase a bull that Mark has previously recommended to fit your needs.
