Transportation: Scottsbluff Airport accommodates commuter planes from Denver International Airport. Private planes may land at the Torrington Airport. Inspection of Cattle: Cattle may be inspected prior to sale day at the Cherry Creek Ranch.

Terms: Cash - please settle for cattle promptly. Retaining 1/3 breeding interest on all bulls in the sale. Brand Inspection: Bulls brand inspection will be provided on cattle selling

Bull Delivery: We will feed the bulls free of charge until March 20, 2025. Most likely, the bulls will be delivered the last week of March, however we cannot guarantee day of delivery. Bulls are delivered at the buyer’s risk, in case of death or injury. For buyers who need to leave their bulls a little later, feed will be at cost and we ask that you make arrangements for delivery or pick them up. Bulls will be delivered free of charge up to 250 miles (up to 500 if purchase is six bulls or more) after that, we will charge at cost. There will be $100 discount per bull if taken on sale day or by February 20, 2025.

Welcome to our 52nd Annual ‘ Progress thru Performance’ bull sale

We realize many in the cattle business experienced some real hardships the last year, with some neighbors having devastating fires. Ours was unbelievable heat with extreme drought. We pray spring rains bless us all.

A large percentage of this years offering are based on the dams of Skyline, Blue Collar and G248. Their performance legacy is not only admired by the soundness and phenotype, but validated by the progeny’s DNA.

In the footnotes, bulls with No PAP stayed home instead of going to Walden because of their DNA scores. We have found little success in PAP testing bulls that genetically indicate they won’t be successful.

There are many offered that are recommended for heifers. Those we are confident will sire calves unassisted irregardless the heifers breeding. With the cattle markets being so good, the investment in your bull battery has never been more valuable.

She was a long time donor cow for us, and now is a donor cow for Hamilton Angus in Oregon and Gary Wall in Iowa. An E.T. son was the second high selling bull in the 2024 bull sale going to Chundy Land and Cattle in Nebraska. B211 is a powerful daughter of Broken Bow. Her son Blue Collar is starting to really make his impact in the Angus breed as a calving ease bull that possesses growth, carcass, and stands on exceptional feet. Blue Collar has sired numerous top selling bulls here at Cherry Creek and also for Baldridge Performance. 13 outstanding sons of Blue Collar are offered in this year’s sale.

Before becoming a donor cow, she indexed 6 calves at 104 at weaning. Her claim to fame was raising Cherry Crk Advance G248, who was Lot 1 in the 2021 bull sale. He was later purchased back by us to become a herd bull. His daughters are blessed with impressive phenotype, nearly perfect udder structure, and are always a favorite of ours in the replacement pen. There are 5 E.T sons in this year’s sale and 34 sons of G248 in the offering.

PAP test conducted at elevation >7,500 ft. For a stay at elevation for 6 weeks (75-90% Repeatable, Predictive Value)

• When selecting an animal based on a PAP measurement other factors besides those listed above should be considered such as genetics or pedigree, PAP EPD’s , Systolic/Diastolic pressures, breed and previous illness.

• Special consideration should be given to the amount of time the animal was exposed to elevation (>5500 ft) prior to testing. The predictability and repeatability of the PAP measurement improves with longer the exposure to higher elevation (minimum of 3 weeks is required).

• This chart is based on animals greater than 10 months of age. Testing older animals (>12 months) results in a higher predictive and repeatability measurement.

• Testing of younger animals (<10months) may result in a greater variability to the predictive and repeatability measurement.

DEFINITIONS:

• Repeatable or Repeatability Percent: This is a term used to give strength to a given PAP score predicting that If a retest PAP was carried out later in life then the score would be close to or within the same category as the original measurement. For example; a PAP measurement taken below 4000 feet only has a 40% repeatable percent meaning that a repeat test only has a 40% chance of staying within the same risk category as the original test.

• Predictive Value: This term is closely related to repeatability percent but specifically says that the original score can accurately predict what that animal will retest in a higher elevation.

• Risk: Defined as the likelihood of an animal developing pulmonary hypertension themselves or being at risk for having a genetic predisposition for the disease

2025 SUPPLEMENT SHEET

With the reality that sometimes young bulls become injured during their first breeding season, we have worked to come up with a fair and reasonable way to share this risk with our bull customers.

GUARANTEE

All bull(s) selling for $4000 or more will be covered 50% by Cherry Creek Ranch if they are injured during their first breeding season provided the bull(s) are managed properly and are kept in acceptable physical health and nutrition. The breeding season is defined as the 60 day period following the first turnout of the bull(s). This is NOT mortality insurance. From sale date to turnout, the risk of death or injury is the buyer’s. 50% of the value of the injured bull, minus FULL salvage value, will be given as a credit. If a replacement bull is available of equal or higher quality, the bull will be replaced. Otherwise, the credit can only be applied to the next year’s bull sale. All injured bulls must be diagnosed by a licensed DVM. Please notify us as soon as possible if an injury occurs, and prior to the injured bull being salvaged. All claims must be made by September 1, 2025.

Example 1: A $5000 bull is injured and will not heal. A credit of $2500 minus the salvage value will be given to the buyer.

Example 2: A $3500 bull is injured and will not heal. No credit is given.
