One thing you can say about these Hurley calves is consistent, dark red and that nice blaze to go with it! 56M may not be the biggest bull in the pen but he has a lot of good things going for him. Welcome to the 2025 Red Deer County Bull Sale. This is our 2nd year contributing to this sale and we really enjoy being included in a multi breed sale. We are excited with our offering and feel they are a very uniform, well balanced, quiet dispositioned bulls. Our goal is to produce bulls for calving ease and still put pounds on your calves as well as bulls for performance.
We are offering one 2 yr old and 10 yearlings. Half of the bulls are sired by Red Lwnbrg Adrenaline 28J who has left us with an exceptional set of calves both bull and heifers. He not only added pounds to our weaning weights as well as structure and size.

A heifers first calf at a 74 Lb birth weight and sired by Red Lwnbrg Adrenaline 28J. Adrenaline left us with a real consistent group of bull calves with moderate birth weights. We thought a lot of Crush 305L and we used him on a group of heifers which should be all calved out by sale day. His mother did it again producing ELFX 447M lot 57 in this sale. 305L is good footed and has a great temperament and could be used on heifers with confidence.

Welcome to the 2025 Red Deer County Bull Sale! Now in our fifteenth year at this event, we truly enjoy being included with such a progressive group of breeders, with a consistent offering of bulls that fit a diverse group of needs.
The goal of our purebred program is to produce bulls with moderate birth weights that incorporate polled genetics, while stacking strong maternal lines, performance and the mothering ability the Simmental breed is known for. The bulls are wintered in a 5-acre paddock to ensure lots of exercise, and have been developed on a ration of free-choice quality first cut hay, combined with a forage-based pellet from Country Junction. All ten bulls are quiet and are used to having people move around them. We continue to focus our development program on assessing weaning performance based on mother’s milk, without the use of material creep feeding.
We welcome visitors to the farm in advance of the sale to view the bulls and the cow families behind them – our website has also been updated to include detailed information and pictures on each bull. Jagger is the youngest bull in our sales string, but you’d never be able to guess from the performance numbers he has put up. Out of a hard working Guerrero dam, the performance of the Anchor D Fergus cow family shines though. In our search for genetics to weave into our herd, the hardest thing to find has always been a (relatively) outcross heifer bull that will do ‘more’ than just calve out. As a result, we have spent most of the past year trying to figure out how we could retain ‘Payday’ to use for ourselves. He simply checks so many boxes for what we look for to use in our program, with a calving ease sire backed by a very strong cow family. Unfortunately for us, between our ‘P-cow family’ and the ‘WowEffect’ influence walking here, Payday is related to roughly half our herd, allowing us to offer him to the industry. We are very excited to be joining the Red Deer County Bull Sale this year with a powerful set of bulls. We are proud to be alongside other great consignors who are also bringing out tremendous bulls to offer in this sale. We have 10 bulls on offer this year, 5 Black Angus and 5 Simmental bulls. This year’s bull pen is a strong one offering some powerful sons from Ellingson Three Rivers, W/C Bankroll, SVS Rancher, Coleman Bravo, Hart State of War and our own herd sires.
Our tagline here at Rockies R Ranch is “Cattle built to last”, this means good feet, good muscling, good temperament, and most importantly good fertility. We expect our bulls to excel in these traits without any special treatment. From conception to weaning these bulls are raised and treated in a commercial setting along side our commercial herd. To be considered for our bullpen and avoid the dreaded rubber band these bulls had to prove themselves superior on less-thanideal pastures, without creep feed or any other special treatment. Once weaned the bulls are pail fed a pellet ration and free choice forage. We stand behind these bulls, sometimes literally as we make sure they are calm and docile enough to scratch.

We have always admired the Coleman Bravo 6313 progeny and like his sire, Rockies Bravo 6M is a definite feature bull. MER 6M embodies all the attributes we look for in a heifer bull. He came easy with a low birth weight, small head, sleek shoulders and pretty good length. On his first calf dam, a Deer Valley Growth Fund daughter he grew into the deep, wide, muscular bull he is today. Here is a good calving ease option with the benefit of some added post calving performance. Athletic with an impressive Genotype and Phenotype all in one package.

When we AI’d U2 Blackbird 35E with Ellingson Three Rivers 8062 we were hoping for a power bull, and every now and again things just turn out! When you analyze this feature bull you will notice that he is deep, wide, muscular and as long as a freight train. When we weighed him on September 1 he crushed the scale at 900lbs. By far the heaviest calf of the group and when considering the pasture conditions of late this was not an easy mark to achieve. Rockies Three River 3M is a great choice if you’re looking to add power and performance to your program.

Here is an all-around solid SVS Rancher 42H son with a chrome stripe. We purchased his dam out of the Skor dispersal, and she has not disappointed. We have retained 3 daughters and sold her only other bull calf for breeding. Like many SVS Rancher 42H sons he’s soft made, well framed, powerful, attractive and hairy. His Sire is known to improve foot and udder qualities and we hope he carries on those traits.

For this year’s sale, in addition to the performance yearling bulls we normally offer we had added a few sons of leading calving ease sires.
The bull calves were weaned Oct 23 into a 5-acre field. Our bulls are never pushed. They get only mixed hay and rolled oats over the winter.
We continue to make extensive use of performance and measurement tools. Our replacement females are ultrasound measured for carcass traits. In order for us to enhance the accuracy and reliability of the EPD’s we genomically tested all our Polled Hereford sale bulls.

Class Winner at the 2024 Hardisty Show. Deep made, stout, with great feet and legs. Gold Nugget definitely pushes down the scale. It is not often that there is a performance/carcass bull that comes along that looks to be a great calving bull as well. His mother 10H (pictured) is one of the hardest working cows in the herd. As for his EPD’s, Gold Nugget has the highest across-the board rankings in our Hereford bull offering this year. Top 5% for calving ease, maternal calving ease, and REA. Welcome back to the 2025 Transcon Red Deer County Bull Sale! This is our fourth year selling alongside these other amazing breeders! We pride ourselves on quiet, pail fed and productive bulls that we stand behind.
Our natural herd sire, Springcreek Flash 66G, fathered WAE 24M and WAE 10M. Flash’s grandsire is Anchor D Viper which has helped bring size and carcass weight on both the weaning weights and yearling weights of these bulls. Coupled with moderate birth weights, he is a valued asset to our herd. Our other natural service sire we used was RENDEZVOUS RED CHOCOLATE 352K. He has a low birthweight and a calm demeanour. He sired WAE 42M and WAE 214M.

Mark’s dam is out of some heavy hitter genetics with names like Skors Cinch and Anchor T Impact. On his sire’s side has names like Anchor D Viper and Harvie JDF Wallbanger. Mark is a solid and powerful bull with a birthweigh of 91 pounds he is sure to produce some excellent carcass weights on his calves. Red in colour with a white blaze face, he sure is a looker. Mike is a favourite of our daughters. His dam is our best producing cow. She has put a bull in the sale pen or a replacement heifer in the herd since we purchased her from Maxwell Simmentals. Mike has a modest birth weight of 75 pounds and comes from a calving ease strain on both sides of his pedigree. With a March birthdate he is keeping up with all the other bulls in the pen just fine. Red with a white blaze face, he is the first one to come for a scratch during feed time.

Mars Bar is about the same colour as his name sake. He is a deep deep red with a gentle loving face. With an 82 pound birth weight and being our heaviest in the yearling weight of 1355 pounds he really is proving himself. His granddam is the mother of 42M! Lubbock’s dam again is an approximate 1200 lb functional Red Angus cow in our herd, going back to one of the first original cow families purchased from Mar Mac Farms. Lubbock is not a left -over yearling from last year. Our herd is small, we decided to carry him overin order to have 2 yr old to sell in this spring’s offering. Terms and Conditions
TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, e-transfer, or wire and are due at the time of sale, unless other arrangements have been made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Transcon reserves the right to charge interest at a rate of 2% per month on overdue accounts. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for their purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Transcon Livestock Corp and/ or the Auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or Sale Managers.
BID - No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted.
SALES TAXES – Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos, and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller.
DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.
PURCHASER’S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time.
INSURANCE – Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser at the time of sale and should be insured. Animals returning to the seller’s farm must be insured.
US BUYERS – There is an additional charge (approximately $300.00 US dollars) that will be applied to each animal purchased. This covers documentation, vet inspections/testing required to export. This cost does not include transportation or brokerage which is the responsibility of the buyer.
CATTLE PICTURES AND INFORMATION PROVIDED - The images in this catalogue are believed to be accurate representations of the individual animals and the information contained in this catalogue is provided by the seller and believed to be true and accurate. Transcon Livestock Corp. and catalogue designers/ producers assume no responsibility if the images and/or information as received have been altered or is inaccurate.
ANNOUNCEMENTS – All announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY
- A registration/recordation certificate issued by the applicable breed association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine the acceptance of this certificate in any other association.
SHIPPING - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.
BREEDERS GUARANTEE - As per applicable Canadian Breed Association Breeding Guarantee guidelines. Copies are available at the sale settlement desk to be picked up by the buyer at any time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price. EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.
HEALTH - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Transcon Livestock Corp. assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.
EMBRYO & SEMEN – Full settlement must be made before release is done and shipping arrangements should be done within 30 days of the sale unless arrangements made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Shipping arrangements and costs are the expense of the purchaser once release has been given.
ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.
RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

IS AGENT ONLY - It is to be clearly understood that Transcon Livestock Corp. is only acting as a medium between buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations.
