Title: New wine into old wine skins? Key Scripture: Mark 2:22 SPS: To challenge the audience to leave our old habits and thinking behind us as we re-write our future in harmony with the mind of God. Supporting Scriptures:

Introduction: New wine needs room for expansion, as it gives off the gases produced through fermentation. News wineskins are supple. allowing that process to take place, while old wineskins are not but will burst with this process. For us, we cannot mix our “old way” and our “new way”. 1. From the beginning of man’s history, we have wanted to choose for ourselves with God’s “input”. ​To be in harmony with God, through His spirit, we have to choose to get out of our ruts - habits of thought and action. a. Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV) I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: 2. And ​we cannot create our own mixtur​​e of how we want to serve God and choose for ourselves what we prefer... a. Matthew 6:24 (KJV) No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. 3. As we commit ourselves to God, there must be a complete makeover a. Colossians 3:10 (KJV) And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: b. 4. Conclusion: If we will commit ourselves to becoming one with Jesus Christ and God our Father, and not mixing our old way with the new, Godly way, we will bear “good things” from our heart. Matthew 12:35 (KJV) A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
