Natuzzi
BENVENUTI A CASA WELCOME HOME T
he first thing that invites you to sit on Natuzzi sofa is a sense of something incredibly comfortable waiting for you to make yourself at home. A piece of Natuzzi furniture is an expression of comfort, modern sensibilities and innovation. There are amazing stories behind every single piece of Natuzzi – a world - famous genuine ‘madein-Italy’ brand. Natuzzi was founded more than 50 years ago by Pasquale Natuzzi, current Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Group Stylist. It is the largest Italian furniture company The Natuzzi Group is one of the largest investors in research and innovation in the furnishing sector. Pasquale Natuzzi personally coordinates this strategic activity from the Natuzzi Style Center, located in Santeramo in Colle, Italy. At the Center a team of 120 professional designers, architects, colour experts, craftsmen, engineers and furniture specialists is devoted entirely to design quality, studying trends and choosing materials. Here, new materials are sought out, from leather to wood stains, fabric, metal, glass and ceramic. Of the 6,000 sketches produced every year for sofas, armchairs, furnishing accessories and related objects - all
developed using sophisticated computer technology - only 120 reach the final verification stages: the development of a handbuilt prototype. This is a fundamental stage, aimed at improving the look, comfort and practicality, while optimizing the use of materials to ensure a fair price. The creation of Natuzzi models and the research for increasingly innovative solutions are the result of the work done by the furnishing experts and designers in the Natuzzi Style Center; meanwhile, the manufacture of frames and padding, the assembly, and the cutting and stitching of upholstery, all takes place in Natuzzi’s high - technology workshop. Importantly, the leather is worked by in-house expert craftsmen in the Natuzzi Group tanneries. The Natuzzi signature is the ultimate manufacturing seal of the reputed brands products, where every detail throughout each and every stage of production is carefully monitored: from the initial design to the prototype, from studying trends to choosing the upholstery, from the tanning of the leathers to assembly and right through to delivery to your home. Raw materials are imported from the primary area all over the world then finished in Natuzzi’s facilities, specializing in manufacturing leather, wood and metal frames, foam and finished products. Natuzzi Group’s products are hand-made by expert craftsmen committed to high quality standards.

Natuzzi has created its very own Quality Laboratory, responsible for testing every sofa component to ensure that each one complies with the strictest international standards as well as guaranteeing maximum comfort and resistance to wear: the materials are subjected to repeated tests in order to measure their performance and resistance over time in every situation and weather condition. Natuzzi has launched it’s 2013 collection at Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2012. The new creations are the result of the continuous research conducted at the Style Center and this new collection of sofas, armchair accessories and furnishings has been inspired by water, the universal symbol of renewal and rebirth. The fourth element of Nature has been the inspiration not only for the new products; but the entire architecture of the stand has been inspired by water: thanks to a special graphic technique, the external walls of the stand seem to be wrapped by water. Water has also strongly influenced the new colours mood, characterized by cool tones like vapor grey, light taupe as well as pink and white colours which, at times, are enhanced by sapphire blues. This palette of colours brings a sense of calm, sequences of transparent

tones and opaque finishings bring light to the living area and bring an unusual feeling of peace. Timeless style, a modern ‘less-is-more’, clean lines and pure forms become the milestones in this path toward harmony. The cool colours inspired by water are tempered by warm tones like amber and tan, combined with the soft shades of cream, sweet corn, cinnamon, cognac, saffron, and burgundy: this delicate balance between warm and cool tones create unexpected chromatic combinations that give a pleasing sense of intimacy to the Natuzzi total living. Tenore and Armonia are the new models that will be introduced for the first time a I Saloni 2012. They reflect the design quality and expertise of a brand that, in 52 years of history, has become the ambassador of the Italian excellence around the world. Tenore has a minimalist style with open base structure, extra-thin arms and metal legs, with an unusual geometric shape, that create a balance between modern and essential shapes.
-
Armonia represents the maximum expression of the Italian, craftsmanship excellence. Its various elements, from the wooden structure to the metal base, from the backrest and seat cushions to the arms, seem to melt together to create a complete "harmony" of the shapes. The sofa has an essential design, thanks to its thin metal base which holds up simple, clean and comfortable volumes, rich in precious details like the raw edge with double stitching, an absolute novelty for Natuzzi. The new, seductive interpretations of the Opera and Erasmo sofas, which have already become icons of the Natuzzi style. Opera is a sofa with clean-cut lines and a welcoming, comfortable seat. The base is in natural wood; the detail of the trim that highlights the shape of the armrests and of the seat and backrest cushions, the comfort of the down feather padding, the essential, clean-cut though not rigid -shaped design are elements that make this sofa extremely cosy, giving the impression that each piece is unique and unrepeatable. Opera is shown in the vapor grey, thickened Cassidy leather covering. Erasmo is the most eclectic model of the whole collection. Its design highlights the new Arezzo fabric covering, lilac coloured, characterized by an open-weave which is extremely soft to the touch.

5. OUR PASSION FOR LEATHER. A KNOW-HOW TREASURE.
Our passion for leather and the decennial expertise in working such an extraordinary material have made us gain the leadership in the industry and worldwide fame. Top-rate hides are selected and worked in our tanning plants in the course of 23 different stages, thus obtaining two categories of leather that enable us to meet the needs of all of our customers: Natural and Protecta. The precious Natural leathers - extremely soft and velvety - are worked in compliance with the original characteristics of the hide: all the distinctive features as to grain, veining and colour shades can be recognized at sight and touch. Leather
What must be the most-used and most-loved furniture covering of all time, Italian leather is a phenomenally durable and stylish material to support the aesthetic of state-of-the-art design of luxury furniture
24 Material : Leather
T
he leather can be obtained from a lot of different animals and the final result varies according to the technical characteristics of their skin. Differently from the fur, the leather used in the furnishing industry – as well as in the automotive - is a sub - product of the food industry. If leather was not utilized in these means, it would represent a huge amount of garbage to be disposed of ! The quality of the leather coming from the different part of the hide can vary greatly. The most precious part is the one comprised between the belly and the backbones: this area shows a more uniform and compact grain, a higher softness and consistency at the touch. While the backbones area has a tiny grain, the areas closer to the belly show a bigger grain. Due to the poor fibers present, this part of the skin has less elasticity and, therefore, a lower resistance to solicitation as well as less softness because of the different absorption of the chemicals. For all these reasons, evaluating the characteristics of a leather article, we always need to refer to the high - quality areas. The natural marks can be found on all the different parts of the sofa, but the kind and the intensity can vary accordingly to the quality areas defined for the specific leather article. Furniture makers know how to cut and utilize a piece of hide onto different areas of the sofa. Making leather furniture requires expert know-how on every single process starting from feeding cows to sewing leather parts on furniture structure. This is why an inviting leather sofa is a must - have piece for every style of home. Source: Natuzzi Education

One hundred years of history
Founded in 1898 by Luigi Giorgetti, the Giorgetti Company was born in Italy’s Meda, Lombardy, in the heart of Brianza. From the beginning, the company quickly became famous for the undisputed skill of its craftsmen in the manufacturing of carved wood furniture and then later, in the 1960s and 70s, it made a decisive contribution to the success of Italian Design all over the world. The company seems to have been born with an international vocation: a warehouse was opened in New York in the 1930s for the sale of wooden frames and later the 1960s saw the beginning of completely finished product exports. At the beginning of the 1980s, Giorgetti strengthened its presence in Europe by setting up two trading companies; one in the Netherlands and the other in Germany. A new showroom was also opened in Italy, in Via
Montenapoleone, Milan. Towards the end of the 1980s there came a turning point which highlighted Giorgetti’s 100-year experience in solid woodworking. Architects were introduced into the company and, even though they had never been designers, they proved to be gifted with the qualities necessary to change the face of furniture design. This innovative strategy has attracted architects such as Scolari, Mosca, Krier and Chi Wing Lo, all of whom are coordinated by Carlo and Piergiorgio Giorgetti and their Research and Development department. The above, and the innovation of the products, has resulted in a profitable synergy between the Italian entrepreneurs and foreign architects who, together, form a managerial team with a never-ending pool of professional know-how and competence.

MR. PORNCHAI WACHAKORN Managing Director of European Snack Food Co., Ltd.
When successful businessman Mr. Pornchai Wachakorn moved into his classy new Lakeside Villa residence at Bangna-Trad just two months ago, he asked his Interior Designer for decorating advice. The Managing Director of European Snack Food Co., Ltd. is accustomed to high quality in both his business and personal life. So, he wanted to know where he could find high-quality, interesting and classic furnishings for his new home. The answer was simple: Euro Creations

With this professional decorating advice, Mr. Pornchai and his wife, Mrs. Saowaluck, found themselves quickly falling in love with the style, design, quality and detail of Euro Creations. Mr. Pornchai recently welcomed Living Gallery magazine into his beautiful new home in Samutprakarn to talk about why Euro Creations was the couple’s first choice for home decorating style. “My wife and I chose the furnishing and decorative items for our home together, and during that process we both agreed that Euro Creations had the finest quality that we were looking for,” Mr. Pornchai said. The couple
chose several pieces of classic furniture and lighting from Euro Creations for their bedroom, living room and dining room. “The appearance of some products from other brands can look like a Euro Creations product when seeing them for the first time, but they are not the same if you look at them in detail, ” he said. “ Then, it is easy to see that products from Euro Creations are much better.” As well as the quality and attention to detail, it was also the classy style and designs that attracted the busy Managing Director and his wife to fill their new home with furniture and lighting from Euro Creations.
