SERVING OUR CITIES WITH DIGNITY HOPE FOR THE CITY IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION PASSIONATELY COMMITTED TO PROVIDING CARE, RELIEF, AND MEETING THE CRITICAL FOOD NEEDS OF PEOPLE LIVING IN THE GREATER LAS VEGAS AREA AND BEYOND.

LAS VEGAS WAS ONE OF THE HARDEST HIT CITIES IN THE US WITH OVER 300,000 PEOPLE LOSING THEIR JOBS DUE TO COVID-19. WE BELIEVE THAT FULL ECONOMIC RECOVERY IS STILL MANY MONTHS AWAY.

The needs of our city are great. Families and children in our community are struggling and losing hope. In the Vegas Valley alone, over 135,000 children currently experience food insecurities, not knowing where their next meal will come from or if they will have one at all. We see thousands of cars a week. Every car represents a family who is concerned they will go hungry. A family desperate to feed their kids. A family searching for hope.

HOPE FOR THE CITY’S MISSION IS THAT NO ONE GOES HUNGRY, NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON IN OUR CITY.

Hope for the City is made up of a collective group of Las Vegas based residents, businesses, and nonprofits who have all partnered together to meet the needs of people during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

SINCE MARCH 2020 HOPE FOR THE CITY HAS SUPPLIED OVER 8.5 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD TO 700,000 INDIVIDUALS.

Through 375 government approved food pantries, and with the help of thousands of volunteers, we have served 160,000 households including medical personnel, first responders, and members of the senior community.

FUTURE OF HOPE FOR THE CITY.

Given the extreme unemployment rate in the Las Vegas Valley and the overall economic devastation due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, it is anticipated that Hope For The City will need to provide ongoing care and relief efforts throughout 2021 and beyond. As long as the need exists in our community, Hope For The City is prepared to respond. In order to accomplish the magnitude of response needed, we are seeking more partners to provide financial support, gifts in kind, additional leadership, and volunteers to help us expand.
