What do you care What People Think of You? Well, there are two ways to look at it: People will think what they think and you shouldn’t let it bother you or you can care very deeply what others think of you. I want to have a good reputation; so, I care very much about earning people’s respect.

I care extremely deeply what others think of me. I always worry that I may say or do something that may hurt the feelings of family, friends or readers. I am very much aware of the feelings of others. I deal with the public all of the time. I’m in sales. If I had a store, I would want the store to be decorated in an inviting way. I would want my window display to reflect the personality and purpose of my store for all who walk by. The covers of my publications are my window. They invite you become a part of my world. Your reputation is no different. You wear your past as you build your present, and it follows you into your future. It is your aura. Lisa Ball
Pet Tips
Many dogs like to eat grass, but if your dog likes to chew on other plants, now’s the time to get out your plant guide. Some native plants can cause your dog to vomit, have diarrhea or even die. Please, don’t let them eat plants. Why do dogs chew grass, anyway? Many veterinarians consider grass eating to be a normal dog behavior. While eating grass offers dogs no nutritional value, it is not harmful — as long as there are no dangerous fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides used on the grass itself. You can help protect your grass eating canine companion by using only non-toxic products on your own lawn. When you’re out in public, keep an eye out for signs warning that chemicals have been used on the grass. You can also provide a safe alternative by growing a grass or herb garden specifically for him to snack on. If you’re afraid that your dog may be suffering from poisoning caused by lawn treatments, call the ASPCA 24/7 Animal Poison Control Hotline at (888) 426-4435.

Nourishing Thoughts No one is spared the opportunity to learn from difficult days. We can all fall prey to distractions and detours that have the power to steal our day. So often, advice in “how to” manuals or magazines we scan while waiting in professional offices, seems practical as it applies to someone else--or ourselves--yesterday.
www.outdoorshowers.net
I have learned that each day offers three important priorities that must be decided upon as we drink our morning coffee. As we dress. As we ready ourselves to share our gifts with a world that waits. We must decide our priority of the moment, our priority of the hour, and our priority of the day. Each day.
Things to Rent For Every Event
Of course, our three priorities can shift throughout the day. As does the wind. As does the surf. As does our mood. But, as we grow more skilled at charting our daily course, we feel a justified and reasonable control of the helm of our day--be it our work, our exercise, our clutter, our loyalties. We can also better accept the unforeseen storm that may catch us by surprise. And, it will--as we navigate uncharted seas we cannot fully control. We owe nobody an explanation for doing our best--as we live our best life--daily. “We carve out the world with words; we sculpt our world with deeds.”

Nourishing Thoughts
Remember the lyric from the title of the charming song of the Beatles, “Listen, do you want to know a secret?” Followed by the line, “Do you promise not to tell?” Well, I am about to share a secret with you that you can tell everyone! You can tell everyone who already knows, you can tell those who will promptly thumb their nose, you can tell those who will find it beyond belief, and even those who will feel great relief...that I greet every day, eager to swim into my day...yet, drowning with anxiety and fear. Sharing that emboldens me! So, how do I get going--daily? I take a loving leap of faith--and walk out the door as if fear curls about my soul, never more. I have learned NOT to return to make sure the door is locked. I check it on my way out. I have learned NOT to examine the air in the tires. There usually is enough. I just go--pretending that I am fine, the world
will greet me wherever I am going, and I will return home, safe. Just as spring arrived on the calendar long before it was time to don our flip flops and sleeveless tops, courage is within us, even when we feel fear and angst. It catches up --as we pretend we can, rather than assume we cannot. And, that’s a promise we can learn to tell ourselves every day. In the middle of my sixty fifth year, I still prove it! After I return home to my loving husband of 38 years, I take a minute to enjoy my plant cutting collection, wait for the tea kettle to sing, and smile. The best part of the day is on the horizon: bedtime. “Courage is the unseen collection of roots, revealed by visible growth of righteous behavior on one’s own behalf.”--ljg Judy horowitz www.senoraonline.com

Just Ask Darla
Dear Darla,
I am the parent of two daughters who are 14 months apart in age. They are both excellent ping-pong players, and they enjoy playing on our pingpong table in the basement of our home. The problem is that when one daughter wins-which happens often --her older sister becomes abusive and refuses to continue playing with her. She is also unfriendly to her younger sister for the rest of the day. Lately, my younger daughter has “thrown” the game to “keep the peace”. Please help me solve this dilemma.
Mom in the Middle
Dear Mom, You are your children’s first model of how to negotiate future relationships in your daughters’ lives. Your younger child is learning that in order to “keep the peace” she must keep her light hidden under a rock. Settling for striving for less than one’s best is never a solution for getting along with others. Your daughter must learn to do her very best in ping-pong and anything else she attempts. If others are displeased, she must learn to accept that. People who are our real friends, including family, want what is right and fair for us. Wishing both of your children the courage to strive for their own unique best lives.
Best of luck Darla
Aries ~ March 21 - April 19 Now is the perfect time to complete that spring cleaning project you began last month. The open space will clear the way for others to give you the kindness you deserve. Taurus ~ April 20 May 20 Don’t give up on that love interest, just yet. Keep on being your best self, and then see if you are appreciated. Stay with what makes you most proud of yourself. Gemini ~ May 21 - June 20 People will notice the twinkle in your eye, as you prove this month that others cannot bring you down. Stay above the fray. Cancer ~ June 21 - July 22
Be Happy
I’ll admit that I make a lot of mistakes. Spelling errors, grammatical errors and sometimes I really mess up by omitting an entire paragraph of an article. I am sorry for this. I wish I were perfect, but no human is even close. I can beat myself up and feel embarrassed by my mistakes, I can make up excuses, or I can blame others. I prefer to accept my faults. I accept the faults of others, so why am so hard on myself? If you can see each person as a whole and not segment their actions, you will see that on the whole, he or she is pretty good.
This is the month to take up that sport you have Let flaws fade. Shine the light on the good. Don’t be so wanted to try! Make it happen!
Leo ~ July 23 - Aug 22 Enjoy witnessing the benefits of your winter exercise regimen as you resume playing that spring and summer sport you so love. Practice indeed makes progress! Virgo ~ Aug 23 - Sept 22 You can be your own worst saboteur or your own best sister. Get going and make it a great day, even if it doesn’t go entirely your way! Libra ~ Sept 23 - Oct 22 This month may be the moment to let your coworker see you sparkle! You are ready to take on more responsibility at the workplace. Scorpio ~ Oct 23 - Nov 21 Staying diplomatic and open minded can only benefit your cause. Steady winds make for less choppy seas.
Sagittarius ~ Nov 22 - Dec 21
You’ve worked too long and too hard to quit now. Stay with your dream just a bit longer. You never know! Capricorn ~ Dec 22 - Jan 19 Is this the month to change the look of one area of your home? Make the change specific and totally doable in your spare time.
Aquarius ~ Jan 20 - Feb 18
Pay no mind to the thorns on the rosebush. Weeds are a part of every garden. Smile on the buds and blossoms that make the effort worthwhile. The best is on its way! Pisces ~ Feb 19 - March 20 Plant one fresh idea in your heart this month. Nurture it and watch it grow. Nobody even has to know. They will, in time.
harsh. Love the fact that you are human. We can learn to find humor in mistakes. Usually though, in other people’s mistakes!
Sitcoms are based on the humor of other people’s errors. Like the time my friend had a little too much to drink and walked into the men’s room. Oh, how we roared with laughter! Another time my friend showed up at the church a day before the wedding and unfortunately the wedding party was doing their dry run. The entire wedding party saw her mistake. That was a hard one to live down. But, boy was it funny!

Motivation
Warm weather and the sun is the best motivator for everything. I love a sunny day. But what will motivate you on a rainy day? • Plan what you will do on the next sunny day. • Make of list of things that have to be done in the house. • Accomplish at least three things. Fully. Do the laundry, mop the floor and dust the house. • Do three fun things. Play a board game, watch a movie, and bake a cake. Rainy days are for dreaming. Day dream about the future. My favorite is to buy a hot tub, put it in my living room, and enjoy watching movies even more. Total fantasy..... it’s never going to happen. But it makes me happy to wish! Then I think that I should build a sun room and get a giant hot tub with a fireplace and an 80” TV. Dreaming definitely motivates you.
