FOOTHILLS market update Paralleling the Front Range Mountains, Foothills communities including Evergreen, Golden, and Genesee offer some of the best city and mountain living Colorado has to offer. Many residents live and work in their mountain community, while others work in Denver but prefer the tranquility of a home on a hillside among the evergreen trees. Natives refer to these areas as the “foothills” because they are small mountains compared to the Rockies further west. One of the biggest January-December 2017 Highlights: benefits of living in the foothills, is that you are that much closer to the • Hangen Ranch’s average area ski resorts, which makes it easy to avoid much of the city traffic 30.4% price is $883,821 headed west any given day. Artists of all types flock to these foothill communities, inspired by the natural beauty of the Colorado landscape. Photographers, writers, musicians and architects draw stimulation from the rocks, trees, wildlife and natural surroundings affiliated with foothills-living. In the year-end Foothills-area Micro Market Report, prepared by LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, year-over-year January through December statistics for single family homes and attached dwellings demonstrated growth in all areas across the board. Highlights from the Foothills area include Hangen Ranch’s average price rising to $883,821, up 30.4% since 2016. Soda Creek’s average price also rose significantly, up 18.9% to $1,463,631 over 2016. Mt. Vernon Country Club’s average price rose 17.1%, to $719,633, over 2016.
