SUMMIT COUNTY The proximity to the famous Colorado Rocky Mountains, (less than two hours from Denver), continues to position Summit County as one of the leading resort community destinations worldwide.
In the resort mountain communities of Summit County and Breckenridge, the desire for lifestyle-inspired home purchases breeds a continued healthy and balanced real estate market. The Summit County Micro Market Report (MMR), prepared by LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, compares 2016 statistics (January through September), to that of 2015, for single family homes and attached dwellings. The average price in Summit County rose to $585,808 in 2016, a 4.4% increase over 2015. Total dollar sales volume also rose, 3.9% to $779,124,626 in 2016. Across the board, days on market are dropping (now 141 days – a below average timeframe for the resort markets), and the sales price to list price ratio is holding at 97.1% throughout Summit County, up 0.1% from 2015. The number of sold listings remained about the same, 984 in 2016, compared to 985 in 2015, which is evidence of a continued competitive conditions in Summit County’s highly desirable marketplace.
