SUMMIT COUNTY Known locally as ‘Colorado’s Playground,’ the proximity to the famous Colorado Rocky Mountains, (less than two hours from Denver), continues to position Summit County as one of the leading resort community destinations worldwide.

The desire for lifestyle-inspired home purchases breeds a continued healthy and balanced real estate market in the resort mountain communities of Summit County and Breckenridge, which is only projected to grow. The Summit County Micro Market Report (MMR), prepared by LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, compares 2016 statistics (January through December), to that of 2015, for single family homes and attached dwellings. The average price in Summit County rose to $585,171 in 2016, a 5.9% increase over 2015. Total dollar sales volume also rose, 1.2% to $1,116,506,649 in 2016. Across the board, days on market are dropping (now 86 days – a below average timeframe for the resort markets), and the sales price to list price ratio is holding at 97.1% throughout Summit County, up 1.3% from 2015. The number of sold listings decreased slightly to 1,908 in 2016, compared to 1,994 in 2015, which is evidence of continued competitive conditions in Summit County’s highly desirable marketplace.
