Future interior space for living ar tists
WAREHOUSE - CONVERSION
Time: Oct 2019
This project aims to design future interior space for an ceramicist, who is also an art teacher and occasionally part host. With the restrictions of a given warehouse shell, we aimed to design a space featuring future technology and/or incorporating focus on improving work efficiency and entertainment lifestyle. My client required to have an interconnected work-play area and pottery studio that can be transformed/incorporated with retails display for her finished works. However the sleeping area is separated to have her own privacy. All in all, she enjoys to have a mobile living space that can accommodate both social lifestyles and work related area.
6.
7.
Within this design, the sleeping and reading area are placed at the mezzanine of the warehouse to accommodate client’s requirement of privacy, also to utilise the natural sunlight. The living room, dinning area and kitchen are interconnected underneath on the East side. These areas are separated from workshop and retail display, placed on

the West side.

A living archive for flood related memories
EX - [SITE]
Time: Oct 2019 Location: Campbell Arcade - Degrave St
This project is looking at details related to a given public site - Campbell Arcade and creates an archive to document an area of interest. It aims to emphasise personal stories associated with flooding events happened here. Throughout the time spent, I was mostly intrigued with different perforated pattern on the ceiling due to paint maintenance. As I looked further, more details of defections because of human intervention and natural events revealed, suggesting ideas of portraying the ceiling as a speculative history teller of the arcade. Further research and design process has shifted my understanding of site specific exhibition from looking at physical conditions of the space to considering the ceiling as a threshold rather than a physical boundary. From here my design approach also shifted to a search for memories associated with the public who uses the site and activate these memories into an archive.

Shift: where does light lead us to?
TRANSPOSER
Time: May 2019 Location: West Space Gallery
This project designs an exhibition at West Space Gallery based on a chosen movie and with a concept of how we understand a chosen word “SHIFT” from that movie. My design proposal for West Space gallery mainly focuses on lighting in dark environment with display of separate parts of Coraline movie in the reading room. The conceptual ideas behind this design derives from the moment Coraline discovered that the other wonderful world is just a small world built based on her existence. As she tried to escape and walked away from her house, the image of that house appeared in front of her eyes again. “Not only our shift in a space is caused by the surroundings, the relationship within Shift is two dimensional, we are attracted and shifted through the space because of light but also we cause light to shift in its forms and spatial location”.

An imagined cities created from our curiosity
INTERIOR CITIES/ IMAGININGS
Time: July 2019 Location: Capitol Theatre - Melbourne
This project is the result of our visit at the Capitol theatre in Melbourne in July 2019 in conjunction our comprehension of the famous book Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. We were asked to design a wearable apparatus using only paper and card as materials and crafted a model using only one chosen material. The journey of this project has touched a lot and intrigued our curiosity to learn about new materials and understand different techniques while working with materials. Also from here, our definition of what can be considered as an interior has shifted, from a physical spatial conditions to a more temporal condition. Our body and a crafted model could be considered as an interior if they triggered the curiosity to adventure the space.
30.
31.
Throughout this project, we created paper model as wearable apparatus. These are material testing and model making for both interior imagining (wearable model) and interior cities (models made with one chosen material

3D MODELLING / REDENERS
This is a personal rendering project while I was learning new 3D modelling and rendering programs such as Lumion, Vray over the summer. This project derives from my interest in modelling arches and allowing the model to develop itself based on the needs of learning how to model objects, staircases and rendering with different textures. Precedents for this project are: ER Studio LA, Daria Zinovatnaya, Charlotte Taylor, Charles Kalpakian.
