Job Description and Application Process Job Description Summary Fully responsible for leadership and management of the Math Division, which offers both College-level and developmental Math courses at the Western Campus. Works with faculty and supports the Dean of Academic Affairs in the successful deployment of strategic initiatives on the Campus. Committed to student success/completion agenda. Application deadline for the Associate Dean of Math is Friday, Sept. 6, 2013.
Job Responsibilities • Responsible for the development, review and evaluation of academic plans, curriculum, programs, courses, course schedules and budgets within the division. • Recruits, selects, supervises and evaluates faculty and division/departmental staff. • Ensures the communication of plans, activities and expectations for faculty and staff at various levels within the campus, division, and across campuses. • Collaborates with other academic area team members as part of the campusbased academic leadership team. • Handles student issues. • May be assigned to support college-wide coordination of planning, resource allocation and quality assurance for the assigned discipline.
Required Qualifications • Master’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related field • Experience with academic programming of remedial-level Math courses • Demonstrated experience overseeing a department/discipline at a department head/coordinator or higher level in Math or a related field within a college environment • Demonstrated leadership skills • A commitment to one’s own professional development • Ability to work collaboratively with one’s peers in other disciplines, functional units and sister campuses • Experience in supervising/coordinating faculty and/or staff in daily divisional operations, budget management and program coordination • Demonstrated commitment to student success and to enhancing teaching and learning • Knowledge and experience in curriculum development and/or program review • Experience working with and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population • Teaching experience at the college level Please see website: https://careers.tri-c.edu/postings/55581 for additional qualifications
