FRONTLINE MANAGER CERTIFICATE PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Every year thousands of employees are hired or promoted into their first management role and every year many of them fail. Frontline employees play a critical role in business. Selecting and building a company’s frontline is an advantage that is central to an organization’s business strategy. While strong leaders are invaluable in setting the organization’s vision, strong frontline supervisors and managers are needed to communicate and operationalize that vision. Frontline managers must motivate and bolster the morale of the people who do the work—those who ultimately deliver services to customers. Investing in developing frontline talent increases the likelihood of employee retention and engagement, customer satisfaction and productivity. A well-developed frontline workforce results in a pool of potential candidates for management positions to enhance succession planning and talent management. Embracing Change at Work

FRONTLINE MANAGER COURSES Frontline Leadership Employees that exceed expectations in their daily work are often promoted into leadership roles. The transition from support staff to leader is often a challenging one. Although technical and functional expertise is necessary, it does not necessarily equate to being a good leader. Without the additional skills needed to communicate effectively, engage and lead others, the transition can be difficult and unsuccessful. Cost

Using Your Strengths

Effective Communication

7

Change happens all around us - at home, in our communities and at work. The only constant of change is that it is unavoidable. Anxiety over the unknown, changes in roles and responsibilities and/or processes can result in unhappy, unproductive and stressed out employees. Embracing change is easier when we know what the changes are, why it is happening, the benefits it will yield and how to overcome barriers to change.

It is no secret that good leaders are also good communicators. And the best leaders have learned that effective communication is as much about listening to others as the words they speak. The importance of the exchange of information in the workplace makes effective communication skills a critical business tool and an essential employee attribute. Cost

Delivering Great Customer Service

REGISTER NOW www.corporatecollege.com/subject www.corporatecollege.com/leadership 000-000-0000 216-987-0233

Customer service has the power to create the entire perception a customer has of an organization. One bad experience can result in not only losing that customer but losing future customers. Studies show that a satisfied customer may tell two or three people about their experience. Dissatisfied customers will tell eight to 20. However, even an unhappy customer will become a loyal customer if you resolve their complaint fast, fair and friendly. Cost

QUALITY AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

PROJECT MANAGEMENT Project management is a disciplined and systematic approach used to bring projects from the planning stage through implementation, and ultimately into standard practices. Over the last few decades, project management has evolved to now require project managers to have a working knowledge of business, operations, quality and finance. At Corporate College, we believe in the fundamental principles of the Project Management Institute (PMI). Using PMI’s Project Management Book of Knowledge as a foundation, courses have been designed to provide students with the tools necessary for successfully overseeing, implementing and managing projects.

QUALITY At Corporate College, we understand the needs of organizations to continuously improve and can help provide the training and coaching to achieve organizational success. Our training includes the latest techniques and proven quality tools, delivered by instructors with real-world experience. Corporate College can provide practical hands-on experience to drive organizations to the next level. Whether you are seeking certification or just an introduction to a specific topic, our classes are highly interactive and provide participants with a working knowledge of the subject.

INFORMATION www.corporatecollege.com/quality 216-987-0234

ISO STANDARDS

(PLEXUS CERTIFIED TRAINING) In general, registration to ISO 9001 by an accredited certification body shows an overall commitment to quality and customers and a willingness to work towards improving efficiency. By becoming an ISO 9001-certified organization, your organization demonstrates the existence of an effective Quality Management System (QMS) that satisfies the rigors of an independent, external audit. Organizations that implement and adhere to a QMS have benefited through increased efficiency, revenue, customer satisfaction and employee morale. Corporate College has partnered with Plexus International to offer a wide array of ISO-related training for various health care, manufacturing and service-related sectors.

LEAN SIX SIGMA AND LEAN SIX SIGMA FOR HEALTH CARE Lean Six Sigma has become the gold standard for process thinking and operational improvement for all industry sectors from health care to banking to manufacturing and everything in between. Organizations (non-profit and for-profit alike) require employees who can think both operationally and strategically and have the skills to develop solutions to reduce waste, errors and costs while ensuring that quality standards meet customer expectations. Our project-based program allows employees to immediately apply what they learn to their current job and provides employers with a tangible returnon-investment of training dollars.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT COURSES

QUALITY COURSES

Certificate in Applied Project Management

Business Analysis Fundamentals

The Certificate in Applied Project Management program is a hands-on program that is aligned with the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). This program is designed to help the student understand and pull together all the knowledge areas and processes of project management necessary to plan and execute, control and close successful projects in any field. The theory of PMI is balanced by the reality of the course instructors’ project management experiences. A case study is threaded throughout the program, and includes activities which enable participants to apply the lessons learned in the units to the projects they are currently on.

Business analysis represents a critical factor for project success. Disconnects can exist between the producers of the solution and the business users who need the functionality that the project will provide. Business analysts are the conduit between these two worlds, bridging the communication gap with their unique grasp of both sides of the project. This course is designed around the seven knowledge areas identified by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA): Business Analysis Planning & Monitoring, Elicitation, Requirements Management & Communication, Enterprise Analysis, Requirements Analysis, Solution Assessment & Validation and Underlying Competencies. This course offers a step-by-step tour of an actual IT project from the perspective of a business analyst.

FINANCE AND TAX

“REMAIN COMPETITIVE AND MEET STATEMANDATED STANDARDS IN ACCOUNTING. BENEFIT FROM KNOWLEDGE OF BEST PRACTICES AND IMPLEMENT THEM WITHIN YOUR ORGANIZATION.” 19

FINANCE AND TAX

FINANCE AND TAX OVERVIEW: Accounting, finance and tax are among the most challenging disciplines and professions. These fields require ongoing education due to competitive necessity and state-mandated standards. Taxation is the field that intersects both professions, and one in which an act of Congress, IRS ruling or a tax court decision can render expertise obsolete overnight, making continuing education essential.

ENROLLED AGENT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Enrolled agents (EA) are licensed by the federal government and have demonstrated special competence in tax matters, professional ethics and can practice before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) anywhere in the United States. The IRS defines an EA as a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the IRS by either passing a three-part comprehensive IRS test covering individual or business tax returns, or through experience as a former IRS employee. EA status is the highest credential the IRS awards. EAs may present cases at all levels of the IRS and may represent clients, with or without their presence, on such matters as: examination of a filed return, liability for a delinquent return, payment of a past due tax and submission of a federal tax lien. In short, they act as agents of taxpayers faced with problems involving income taxes, estate and gift taxes, employment taxes and excise taxes.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : To become a certified EA you must successfully pass the IRS Special Enrollment Examination (SEE) and a suitability check. In addition to passing the SEE, applicants must pass a tax compliance check to ensure that you have filed all required tax returns and have no outstanding tax liabilities. SPECIAL ENROLLMENT EXAMINATION : The SEE is a three-part exam administered by Prometrics on behalf of the IRS. You must successfully pass all three parts to receive IRS-EA certification. Part 1 - Individuals Part 2 - Businesses Part 3 - Representation, Practices and Procedures Note: Each part is taken as a separate exam and may be taken in any order. Exam fees are $101 per part. You must register and schedule your exam with Prometrics directly.
