Welcome

FROM YOUR GALA CO-CHAIRS

On behalf of La Jolla Country Day School, we welcome each of you this evening to our annual fundraising gala, HAVIN’ A BALL.... SHOWIN’ OFF OUR “A” GAME! Your attendance, enthusiasm and support make each year more spectacular than the last. Our “A” Game theme was chosen to represent the atmosphere here at La Jolla Country Day; our students, teachers, staff and administrators bring their best “Attitudes” and best “Abilities” everyday! When you donate tonight you will be helping to provide more for programming and educational resources. We cannot thank you enough. Many hands have helped bring this evening to you. We would especially like to recognize our Acquisition Chair, Christine Ashworth, Wine Acquistion Co-Chairs, Stacy Jacobs and Lisa Altman, Parents Association President Angela Glynn, Parents Association Vice President Tricia Estrada and the entire gala

committee, the “A” Game Crew. We also would like to personally thank the tireless efforts of the staff and administrators at La Jolla Country Day School because without them, we wouldn’t be here tonight! We hope you enjoy the evening here at the beautiful Qualcomm campus. As you sample the food, enjoy a glass of wine and browse the auction items, we encourage you to bid high and bid often! From each of us on the gala committee, thank you from the bottom of our heart and please join us in celebrating our “A” Game! Sincerely,

Friends

I am proud tonight to be part of an event that, year in and year out, is one of the best public demonstrations of the spirit of our school community. The Spring Gala is a big and fun party, but it is also a celebration of what we accomplish together each year on behalf of the students. As I look over the collected works of our students to be auctioned off this evening, I am reminded of the immense amount of creative energy that is expended every day at Country Day. Country Day is a large and diverse community. It reaches out, through the lives and travels of our students, to virtually all four corners of the world. As a community, we help dig wells in Africa, care for orphans in the Dominican Republic and bring beautiful music to churches and concert halls of Europe. We surround these efforts on our campus with the intellectual preparation it takes to understand and help reshape this complex world. As a community we also reach out to wonderful students right

here in San Diego who need help to attend Country Day, but once here enrich all our lives with their special energy and drive. With the arrival of our Spring Gala, we also mark the passage of another successful year for this school. I want to thank all of you for your part in creating this special place for our students. Country Day is an important engine of creativity in the San Diego Community and I would like to thank each of you, the Parents Association leadership, Gala Chairs Tammy Rooke and Debby Jacobs and their team for all you do to support our school. -Chris

Express Pay eliminates your need to stand in the long cashiering lines at the end of the evening to pay for your purchases. Simply present your credit card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) at registration and an imprint will be made. No charges will be made to your credit card unless you become a successful bidder. SI L E N T A U C T IO N 1. The Silent Auction begins at 5:30 p.m. All tables are open at that time. 2. Each item will have a bid form with pre-assigned bid amounts for your convenience.
