Welcome to Summer at Country Day. La Jolla Country Day School’s summer program offers a wide-range of academic and enrichment-based opportunities for children age 3 to Grade 12. Our program will challenge and inspire students of all ages while they cultivate friendships and achieve personal growth. We’re conveniently located in the UTC/ Golden Triangle area of San Diego County. Summer program attendees not only have access to our 24-acre campus complete with state-of-the-art facilities, but most classes and camps are taught by La Jolla Country Day School faculty and staff. Lower School Program Our unique and exciting lineup of academic classes for children age 3 to Grade 4 offers hands-on, interactive learning on subjects that pique students’ curiosity and interests. Primarily taught by the LJCDS Lower School faculty members, class sizes are small with a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio to support a contoured learning experience.
Offerings Include: Ready, Set, Go Kindergarten Junior Great Books Reading, Writing & ‘Rithmetic Fun with the American Girls Y.A.L.: Yoga, Art and Literature Think like a Scientist Junior Theater
Middle School Program Offerings for Grades 5–8 are abundant and diverse. The program is designed to offer academic courses in the morning and enrichment opportunities in the afternoon. Students may enroll in a variety of academic courses for each day. Morning electives meet daily in three-week sessions.
Offerings Include: Public Speaking Writing Workshop Math by grade level Yoga Workshop Intro to Taiko Drumming Sports Camps Design and Innovation
Upper School Program Our academic courses for Grades 9–12 are UC approved. High school credit can be earned upon satisfactory completion of fullyear and semester courses. The Upper School program also offers experiential education trips abroad.

Sports Camps The athletic program offers a combination of La Jolla Country Day School-run sports camps and independent camps by Nike and Jim Brogan. The LJCDS programs are run by our very own coaches. Camps are designed for beginner through advanced levels to help students better prepare both physically and mentally for their respective athletic seasons.

Design and Innovation Collaborate, share ideas, problem solve and build in our brand new Innovation Lab. Complete with hammers, screwdrivers, drills, 3D printers, a laser cutter, over 4,000 square feet of writable wall and a 150-squarefoot projection surface, the possibilities to innovate are endless.
Offerings Include: Skateboard Design Electronics and Programming Microcontrollers Industrial Design Track: 3D Printing Industrial Design Track: Computer Programming
Camp Torreys Our traditional day camp offers a mix of offcampus field trips and on-campus activities for children from kindergarten to Grade 4. Celebrate summer vacation with activities including sports, arts and crafts, bi-weekly field trips to local attractions and visits by special enrichment guests. Sessions are one week long.

World Language Our language programs are designed for students of all proficiency levels in Lower and Middle School. Students will be immersed in engaging lessons and cultural activities to help build their communication skills in Chinese, French or Spanish.
