SCAN TO CHECK OUT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN LIVERPOOL
Whilst you are here, you might want to squeeze in some time to see the incredible sights of Liverpool. We are incredibly proud to be the home to over 50,000 students.
Liverpool is renowned for being a friendly and dynamic city, offering something for every one of its students who call it their home.
With Liverpool FC and Everton FC, we are home to two of the Premier League’s original members. We are also home to over 40 golf courses, a water sports centre, a sport wake park, an international tennis tournament, the Grand National and many athletic events throughout the year.
The birthplace of The Beatles, Liverpool is notorious for its music scene. Every year, the city showcases local and international talent with numerous concerts and festivals, and attracts a range of international pop sensations such as Taylor Swift and Pink. It is no wonder we were picked as the Host City for the 67th Eurovision Song Contest.
Liverpool is a compact city which makes getting about so easy, whether that be on foot or public transport. All our LJMU buildings are only a short walk to the heart of the city centre.
Liverpool is home to so many green spaces to relax, such as Sefton Park, Festival Gardens, Otterspool Promenade, Calderstones Park and Crosby, Formby and Southport beaches.
From the high street stores and designer outlets in Liverpool One and the Met Quarter, to the independent boutiques on Bold Street or markets in the Baltic Triangle, Liverpool is the perfect place for students to go shopping.
We are a multiracial, multicultural city supporting a diverse range of religions and communities. We have amazing events every year that celebrate our diverse communities such as Liverpool Arab Arts Festival, DaDaFest, Brouhaha and Liverpool Pride.
Liverpool has had 14 consecutive Purple Flag accreditations, meaning it is a safe, diverse and entertaining place to enjoy a night out – with over 300 bars, clubs and restaurants to choose from.
THE CITY HAS MORE GALLERIES AND MUSEUMS THAN ANY OTHER UK CITY OUTSIDE OF LONDON.
Liverpool Biennial is the largest free contemporary visual arts event in the UK, and one of the world’s best attended art festivals.
Liverpool was ranked 7th Best City in the World (Time Out, 2024)
LIVERPOOL WAS NAMED ONE OF THE FRIENDLIEST CITIES IN ENGLAND. (Rough Guides, 2021)
The City was chosen as the Host City for the 67th Eurovision Song Contest, 2023.
Liverpool is easy to travel to by road, rail and air. You can even catch a ferry across the Mersey! Visit Liverpool has some really useful information.
As we are located in the heart of Liverpool city centre, there is no on-site parking at the university. There are, however, plenty of car parking options in the immediate area within easy walking distance. Parkopedia provides information on many public car parks around the city.
There are several Liverpool City Council car parks in the city centre, the largest of which is the multi-storey Mount Pleasant Car Park. There are also a number of nearby NCP car parks.
If you are travelling by train, our campuses are a short walk from Liverpool Lime Street station.
Our campuses are also near several local Merseyrail stations, including Liverpool Central and Moorfields.
