As I sit down to introduce this latest issue of our magazine, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement buzzing in the air. With Ramadan just around the corner, there’s this infectious positivity swirling around, filling the streets and our hearts with warmth and anticipation.

Ramadan –a time of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and communal unity, is a cherished and revered tradition in our vibrant nation. It’s a time when the rhythm of daily life slows down, and the focus shifts towards introspection, gratitude, and acts of kindness. The bustling streets transform as families gather for suhoor and iftar, the breaking of the fast, sharing laughter, stories, and traditional delicacies that tantalize the taste buds and nourish the soul.

Through the lens of this sacred month, Qatar’s hospitality industry takes on a deeper significance, serving as a beacon of light. It’s a time when we learn the value of patience, and empathy. Moreover, the spirit of generosity and giving that permeates this month serves as a powerful reminder of the impact we can have when we extend a helping hand to those in need. Indeed, Ramadan is more than just a religious observance; it’s a profound journey of self-discovery and enlightenment that leaves an indelible mark on our souls.

Ramadan in Qatar is something truly special. It’s not just about fasting and prayers; it’s about the atmosphere, the sense of community, the enchanting Arabian nights, and the beautiful traditions that bring us all together. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, you can’t help but be swept up in the magic of it all.

As the holy month of Ramadan graces us with its presence, Qatar’s renowned hospitality industry shines brighter than ever. From luxurious hotels offering lavish iftar spreads to quaint cafes serving traditional treats with a modern twist, the spirit of hospitality is palpable everywhere you turn. It’s a time when the warmth of Qatari hospitality is felt most deeply, as locals and visitors alike come together to share in the joy of the season.

As you flip through the pages of this issue, you’ll find a treasure trove of stories and features celebrating everything that makes Qatar so special. From the latest food trends to hidden gems waiting to be discovered, there’s something here to inspire and delight you.

And let’s not forget about the Ramadan events happening all over the city. From grand iftar buffets to mesmerizing cultural performances, there’s no shortage of things to see and do during this holy month.

So, let us embrace the Ramadan vibes with open hearts and minds, embracing the spirit of unity, compassion, and gratitude that define this auspicious month. May this issue serve as a beacon of light, illuminating our path as we navigate the beauty and richness of Qatari culture and hospitality!

DUBAI LIFE COACH

Regardless of where in the world we find ourselves, you will experience an environment of individuals or a collective group of people seriously believing they are Entitled to a different level of services, respect and or treatment.

LET’S EXPLORE THE VALUES AND OF ENTITLEMENT

The daunting question remains:

Question: Where does ENTITLEMENT come from?

Answer: On most cases the trauma go’s straight to childhood where the individual experienced lack of love from parents, neglected by family or neighbours, sidelined at school functions or sports. The individual develops a sense of demanding others to their attention.

They further believe or have an expectation that they are deserving of certain privileges, benefits, or rights. It can also refer to the rights or benefits that are granted to individuals based on specific illusional criteria, such as entitlement due to social benefits, lack of attention as a child or entitlement to certain services based on material wealth, nationality and even religion we have seen these days worldwide.

Lee Levy
Let’s explore a brief understanding of common characteristics of entitlement mentality as below:

An unrealistic expectation by people with an entitlement mentality often have unrealistic expectations about what they deserve or should receive without putting in the necessary effort or work. Though questionable to me remains the ‘need’ to and for special attention always baffles my mind as the same type of persons normally have a lack of Accountability and often avoid taking responsibility for their actions or mistakes, instead blaming others or external circumstances for their problems. They have an extreme and illusional sense of superiority.

Individuals with an entitlement mentality certainly believes they are inherently more deserving or special than others, leading to a sense of entitlement to special treatment while having great difficulty accepting feedback. Struggling to accept criticism or feedback, viewing it as a personal attack rather than an opportunity for growth which leads to lack of acceptance and ownership. Their mentality creates an environment that they rely on others to fulfil their needs and or expectations, rather than taking initiative or working towards creating their own success path and structures independently.

The lack of empathy is a result and due to their focus being purely on what they can extract from you and borders Narcissism. Certainly, we know and understand narcistic behaving individuals have great difficulty understanding or considering the perspectives and needs of others, which then leads to selfcentred behaviour. Further to this, their mentality creates and environment that they believe they are entitled to resources, opportunities, or privileges without considering the impact on others or the need to earn them.

Characteristics can vary in intensity and has the possibility to manifest in different ways depending on the individual and the situation.

A common characteristic of entitlement mentality related to unrealistic expectations is the belief that one is entitled to receive certain privileges, benefits, or rewards without putting in the necessary effort, work, or qualifications. This can lead to a sense of entitlement to success, recognition, or special treatment without considering the merit or requirements typically associated with such outcomes.

Research over time have proven that an individual with entitlement mentality believes they are entitled to privileges or rewards summarised below:

They have an excessive expectation to achieve success or recognition without putting in the necessary hard work, dedication, or skill development. They truly believe they deserve special or

preferential treatment in various situations such as social events, meetings at work and even family gatherings. This obviously gives birth to the person further believing they are entitled to expensive or luxurious material gifts or possession without earning or saving for this. Recently during a couple counselling session, the husband claims every time he wished to be intimate with his wife, he had to buy her a gift. She claimed she’s worth much more that the value of the gift.

In a working environment, there are huge expectations to be given opportunities, promotions and do to as they pleased without accountability for their work ethics and activity by demonstrating the required qualifications, skills, or experience. Once again, that feeling entitled to recognition, praise, or admiration without making significant contributions or accomplishments increases over time and certainly anger or even resignation when not achieved. Quite challenging in work environments as they truly believe they deserve others’ time, attention, or support without reciprocating or considering the needs of others.

Allow me to brief characteristics below:

ù Enjoys blaming others with expectation of zero accountability

ù Consistent unrealistic expectations

ù Unrealistic sense of illusional superiority

ù Extreme difficulty accepting feedback, regarding it as judgemental

ù Unable to handle rejection, resorting to aggressively verbally attacking the other

ù Superior in marriages or relationships – they decide whether its intimacy or cleaning

ù Struggle deeply with authority, rules and regulations

ù They are constantly comparing their lifestyles to another with a view they are better

When you are constantly comparing your life to another, this certainly leads to feelings of entitlement to what others have or achieve, without considering the individual effort, circumstances, or merits that contribute to those outcomes. It can create a sense of unfairness or dissatisfaction, fuelling a cycle of entitlement and discontentment that hinders personal growth and relationships. Overall, feeling entitled to what others have can have farreaching consequences on personal well-being, relationships, and overall fulfilment

Therefore, regularly practise pausing at your lives to understand the direction of your journey and know for sure that to create and maintain a healthy mindset, it is crucial for you to create a structure that includes consistent gratitude journaling, increased affirmations, charity and reduce social media time.

ForDENTAL TIPS

Fasting during the holy month of Ramadan is a wonderful exercise in self-discipline. It is also considered equally cleansing and therapeutic, physically as well as mentally. But while fasting, certain steps need to be taken to prevent it from taking a toll on your dental health.

Tip 1: Brush immediately after suhoor and iftar meals:

During the month of Ramadan, there are two key meals in the day: suhoor (or the pre-dawn meal) and iftar (the meal with which Muslims break their day-long fast). These tend to be big meals and often feature a heavy dose of sugary foods. A good practice is to brush right after these meals to prevent bacterial build-UP

Tip 2: Don’t forget to floss and use mouthwash

f flossing and the use of mouthwash are not already a part of your daily dental regime, make sure to incorporate them in during the month of Ramadan. Dental floss serves to clean up the remnants of food stuck between the teeth, while mouthwash washes away the bacteria.

Tip 3: Multiply the consumption of water during nonfasting hours

A lack of hydration is associated with bacterial build-up and, subsequently, bad breath. To circumvent this during Ramadan, simply increase the amount of water you consume during nonfasting hours. Drink approximately two to three glasses of water to freshen the mouth during iftar.

Tip 4: Increase your fruit and vegetable intake

Instead of consuming sugary, carbohydrate-rich, or acidic foods during meals, eat fruits, vegetables, legumes and nuts to minimize the amount of time teeth are exposed to acid. These foods also strengthen the body’s ability to fight bacteria and inflammation, which can help protect the teeth and gums.

Tip 5: Avoid sticky foods

Any food that contains sugar or starch can cause tooth decay by dissolving the protective enamel on the teeth. But, much more important, is how long a particular food stays on your teeth. Some of the most damaging foods are those that mash into the tops of the molars at the back of the mouth and don’t dissolve quickly. Ideally, avoid sticky foods as much as possible during Ramadan.

Illuminating the Path: Navigating Ramadan Marketing

Navigate the labyrinth of Ramadan marketing with finesse, embracing targeted strategies that resonate with the soul of the season. From hashtags to email campaigns, let every tactic be a brushstroke in the masterpiece of Ramadan marketing.

Here are 5 effective marketing strategies tailored for these businesses during Ramadan.

Create Ramadanthemed offers and

packages

Design special Ramadan offers and packages that cater to the unique needs and preferences of customers during this holy month. This could include Iftar and Suhoor deals, discounted room rates for staycations, spa packages with relaxation and rejuvenation themes, and exclusive dining experiences featuring traditional Ramadan dishes.

Promote these offers through various channels such as social media, email newsletters, and targeted advertisements.

Host Ramadan events and experiences

Organize special events and experiences that capture the spirit of Ramadan and appeal to your target audience. This could range from themed Iftar gatherings and cultural performances to wellness workshops and cooking classes focused on traditional Ramadan cuisine.

Consider collaborating with local influencers, chefs, or artists to add authenticity and attract a larger audience. Promote these events through your website, social media platforms, and local event listings.

Engage with your community

Ramadan is a time of giving and community spirit, so focus on building meaningful connections with your customers and the local community. Participate in charitable initiatives, such as food drives, donation campaigns, or iftar sponsorship programs, to demonstrate your commitment to social responsibility. Engage with your audience on social media by sharing Ramadan-related content, including tips for fasting, recipes, and cultural insights. Encourage usergenerated content by hosting contests or challenges related to Ramadan experiences and traditions.

Enhance the dining experience

Emphasize the culinary aspects of Ramadan by offering special menus featuring traditional Arabic dishes and delicacies. Create a warm and inviting ambiance in your restaurant or dining area with themed decor, soft lighting, and traditional music.

Consider offering customizable Iftar and Suhoor menus to accommodate different dietary preferences and requirements, including vegetarian and glutenfree options. Leverage social media platforms to showcase your offerings through mouth-watering food photography and behind-the-scenes glimpses of the preparation process.

Provide convenience and comfort

Recognize that fasting during Ramadan can be physically demanding, so focus on providing convenience and comfort to your customers. Offer extended operating hours for your services, including late-night dining options for Suhoor and earlymorning breakfast deliveries. Provide prayer facilities or designated prayer areas within your premises for customers observing religious rituals.

Ensure that your staff is trained to provide attentive and respectful service, understanding the cultural sensitivities associated with Ramadan.

Hamad Hassan Al-Tamimi, a distinguished writer, chose a path less traveled, one that is often feared and avoided. He delved into the field of documentation after exploring various writing genres, from stories to novels. His journey into this captivating world was filled with secrets, adventures, obstacles, and setbacks. His ambition led him to follow in the footsteps of influential personalities who contributed to the nation’s development, finding invaluable lessons in their stories and experiences.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT THE CONTEMPORARY CHARACTERS PROJECT?

WHAT

IS THE NATURE OF THIS CULTURAL ENDEAVOR, AND WHAT PURPOSE DOES IT SERVE?

The Contemporary Characters Project is a significant cultural event held annually, featuring a diverse program that includes panel discussions, artistic performances, and intellectual gatherings. The event serves as a platform to honor cultural personalities who have made significant contributions to enriching society and leaving an indelible mark. The highlight of the event is the launch of new publications that document the journeys of contemporary characters, both men and women, who have dedicated their efforts to serving the nation and upholding its values.

WHAT’S NEW AT THE CONTEMPORARY CHARACTERS EVENT THIS YEAR?

This year’s Contemporary Characters event is marked by a distinct and innovative vision, building upon the experience gained from the previous ceremony held in 2021. We have implemented recommendations from the previous edition, resulting in a more cohesive and integrated event. This year, we are expanding our scope to involve more participants and honor a wider range of personalities. We are proud to launch two new publications: “The Journey of Prominent Women in the Modern Era 2” and “The Journey of Prominent Men in the Modern Era 1”. The process behind these books has been rigorous, spanning over two years, and involving hundreds of individuals whose stories we have creatively captured.

WHAT DISTINGUISHES THESE RELEASES FROM PREVIOUS ONES, AND FROM THE REST OF THE WORKS PRESENTED IN THE CULTURAL ARENA?

In these new works, we have expanded our vision and doubled our efforts, producing two separate volumes: one dedicated to women and the other to men. We have also sought to include a wider array of individuals, spanning various ages, nationalities, and fields. As for what sets these works apart from previous editions and other cultural works, it is their comprehensive and profound vision. I have drawn extensively from my previous experiences and endeavored to make these volumes not just a collection of individual achievements, but a reference for researchers seeking insights into an important stage in Qatar’s history.

WHEN CAN WE EXPECT THESE WORKS TO BE RELEASED, AND HOW DO YOU PLAN TO INTRODUCE THEM TO THE CULTURAL ARENA?

Just a few days ago, we completed the final touches on our work and concluded the design process. After two years of diligent effort and continuous dedication, we are

excited to announce that our projects are now ready for the grand unveiling. The launch ceremony is scheduled for the end of April of this year, promising to be a grand cultural, intellectual, and societal gathering. The event will bring together prominent personalities from various walks of life, media professionals, all of our partners and sponsors, and everyone who has believed in us and supported this project. It will be a celebration of success and achievement, providing a platform for ideas and visions to converge. Additionally, we will take this opportunity to reveal our plans for the next steps in this endeavor.

54

BEFORE DELVING INTO THE NEXT STEPS OF THE PROJECT, COULD YOU PROVIDE US WITH MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE PERSONALITIES FEATURED IN YOUR WORKS? WHO ARE THE MOST NOTABLE ONES INCLUDED?

While I am unable to disclose specific names from the second women’s and first men’s editions of the book, I can confidently assert that all of the 120+ individuals featured are remarkable and inspirational. Their contributions to Qatar, spanning political diplomacy, sports, economics, media, and the arts, have left an eternal impact. Furthermore, we have made determined efforts to spotlight the achievements of a diverse group of young individuals who have begun making significant contributions at an early stage in their careers. We are optimistic about their potential and believe that this work will serve as an evidence to their early successes and promising future trajectories.

WHAT CHALLENGES DID YOU FACE WHILE DOING THIS WORK?

Documentary work is often deemed one of the most challenging fields for writers to venture into, as many prefer to focus on literary endeavors such as stories and novels due to the inherent complexities involved. Projects such as these demand unswerving commitment, extensive effort, and prolonged periods of time, often necessitating the support of an institutional framework, which was unfortunately not at my disposal. Despite these challenges, I remained resolute in my pursuit, navigating obstacles that emerged during my interactions with the featured individuals. The need for a standardized template for all characters further complicated matters, as each individual possessed their unique perspective, while my aim was to ensure uniformity across the board. Convincing them to align with our vision was an arduous task, but through perseverance and effective communication, we were able to successfully navigate these challenges.

WHAT FUTURE PROJECTS AND ENDEAVORS DO YOU HAVE IN THE FIELD OF DOCUMENTATION AND WRITING IN GENERAL?

Undertaking a project of this magnitude has not only enriched my experience but has also propelled my career in writing to new heights. I have discovered a profound passion for the field of documentation, and I am committed to furthering my expertise and specialization in this area. Through continuous research and a receptive attitude towards diverse perspectives and constructive feedback, I have developed a robust set of future plans. I am determined to uphold rigorous standards in all my future undertakings, ensuring that each work I produce makes a meaningful and substantive contribution to the cultural and literary landscape. Among my upcoming projects is an ambitious expansion of my documentation efforts, not only in terms of diversifying the subjects and fields covered in Qatar but also extending this initiative to the broader Arab world. Additionally, I have received invitations from several esteemed individuals to document their personal histories, and I am actively considering this significant step. This involves scrupulous preparation, including in-depth research into the intricacies of crafting a comprehensive biography, as I recognize the distinction between chronicling the life of a single individual and summarizing the collective history of a group of people.

In the opulent ambiance of Doha’s cultural epicenter, where tradition seamlessly intertwines with modernity, the scent of anticipation hangs in the air as distinguished guests gather to witness the unveiling of a new olfactory masterpiece. 56

Edward’s upbringing was steeped in the rich aromas of Floris, where he apprenticed under his grandfather and father, learning the intricate craft of blending fragrances. After honing his skills with major houses like Lancôme and Calvin Klein, Edward returned to Floris, infusing nearly 30 years of expertise into the brand’s legacy.

Today, Edward works at the iconic 89 Jermyn Street, London, where he continues to innovate alongside the Floris Perfumery Team, crafting new creations and offering bespoke fragrances to discerning clientele.

Unveiling Elegance: A

Fragrant Journey with Edward Bodenham of Floris London

As the evening unfolded, amidst buzz and the launch of Santal Intense, Mr. Bodenham graciously shared his insights into the creation of this exquisite fragrance, a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation meticulously crafted to captivate the senses. With each question posed, a story unfolded—a tale of heritage, inspiration, and the relentless pursuit of perfection.

Join me as we embark on a fragrant journey with Edward Bodenham, delving into the essence of Santal Intense and discovering the profound legacy that continues to shape the world of luxury perfumery.

LLQ Lifestyle: Mr. Bodenham, Santal Intense undoubtedly embodies a rich olfactory narrative. Could you elaborate on the inspiration behind this fragrance and the meticulous craftsmanship that went into its creation, particularly in resonating with the discerning tastes of the Middle Eastern clientele?

57

Edward Bodenham: “Thank you very much for your kind comments. Our original Santal Eau de Toilette was actually created at the beginning of the new Millennium, and the inspiration was a complete adaptation of our original Sandalwood fragrance that had been a popular scent in our collection since the 1800s.

When creating Santal we aimed to compose a sandalwood themed fragrance for a new generation, so we created a scent with a reassuring fougère theme, but with a few modern and unexpected twists, like the inclusion of notes of green grass, black pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and Tonka bean.

When creating Santal Intense we worked on increasing the levels of amber, woody amber and frankincense within the fragrance, which provided a greater depth and longevity as well as increasing the silage of the scent. The increased concentration of these materials also served to highlight and enhance the fresh top notes and the aromatic heart notes of the Eau de Parfum, which we were all extremely pleased with.”

LLQ Lifestyle: As a family-owned brand with a legacy spanning nine generations, Floris London undoubtedly has a profound understanding of the artistry and heritage of perfumery. How does Santal Intense encapsulate both the timeless elegance of Floris London's heritage and the contemporary preferences of the modern consumer, especially within the vibrant cultural tapestry of Doha?

Edward Bodenham: “Thank you. We actually work on all of our fragrances within our small family perfumery through the back of our only Shop in St. James’s, London. The building dates back to the 1860s and it used to be the Floris family home throughout the early decades of the company, so it is still very much the home and heart of our perfumery today.

My family has been creating all of our fragrances in that same building, and with the unique inherent feel of what gives a Floris perfume its character and gives each scent its unique Floris signature.

I think it is that which reflects our heritage, and the way that Santal Intense reveals a nod to

a more traditional fougère style scent, though with the addition of a very modern combination of exciting and unexpected ingredients, which we hope connects and pleases the contemporary Doha fragrance wearer.”

LLQ Lifestyle: The Middle East holds a deep appreciation for perfumes, often considering them as a reflection of one's identity and status. How does Santal Intense, with its intricate blend of exotic ingredients, aim to resonate with the sophisticated sensibilities of the Middle Eastern clientele while maintaining its distinct character in the diverse landscape of luxury fragrances?

Edward Bodenham: “Santal Intense was actually requested by many Middle Eastern customers across the region as well as by visitors to the Floris Shop in London, so, we were delighted that the fragrance resonated with so many luxury perfume enthusiasts.

Being a small independent family company, we were able to respond to this exciting request quickly and work on Santal Intense and launch it exclusively to The Middle East.”

LLQ Lifestyle: With Santal Intense, Floris London continues to showcase its commitment to sustainability and ethical practices within the realm of perfumery. Could you shed some light on the brand's approach towards sourcing raw materials for this fragrance, ensuring both quality and environmental responsibility, particularly in an era where conscious consumerism is gaining prominence?

Edward Bodenham: “Yes, of course. The perfume industry is heavily focused on sustainability, and we work with very long-standing suppliers who fund various farming planting projects and work closely with local farmers and their families.

58

They ensure that all sourcing is responsible, transparent, direct and controlled, from local partners & producers, establishing strong partnerships with producers, without any intermediaries. On top of that, we are pleased to say that all of our fragrances are 100% biodegradable.

Also, as part of our connection with the British Royal Family by being a Royal Warrant Holder, we are committed to comply with a strict, comprehensive sustainability and environmental policy, at the request of HM King Charles III and our late Queen Elizabeth II.”

LLQ Lifestyle: The launch of Santal Intense marks another milestone for Floris London, further solidifying its position as a purveyor of exceptional fragrances. How do you envision this fragrance contributing to the olfactory landscape of Doha and leaving a lasting impression on the connoisseurs of fine perfumery in the region?

Edward Bodenham: “My family and I are so delighted that our creations emotionally relate with fragrance connoisseurs in Doha and in countries across the world.

It is very humbling to think about how our cherished perfume, Santal Intense, created within our small family perfumery in London, can travel across the world and is able to resonate and bring joy to so many other people.”

End Note: Luxury Becomes a Personal Journey.

of the venue, the air was alive with anticipation, every moment tinged with the promise of something extraordinary.

The unveiling of Santal Intense was nothing short of magical. As the fragrance wafted through the room, I found myself captivated by its allure, transported to a realm where time stood still and beauty reigned supreme. Each note seemed to tell a story—a testament to the artistry and dedication that define Floris London.

Amidst the company of esteemed guests and the whispers of excitement, the launch event became a celebration of tradition, innovation, and the timeless elegance of Santal Intense. It was a privilege to bear witness to such an unforgettable moment, a true testament to the legacy of Floris London.

I extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Bodenham for generously sharing his insights and allowing us to glimpse into the soul of this remarkable creation. As you immerse yourself in the world of Santal Intense, I invite you to continue your exploration of luxury living with LLQ Lifestyle.

As our interview with Edward Bodenham draws to a close, I am left with a profound appreciation for the artistry and dedication that define Floris London's legacy. Santal Intense emerges not just as a fragrance but as a testament to the enduring pursuit of perfection that has characterized the brand for nine generations.

Review by: Qutaiba Asaad

Exciting

Exterior Design:

Introduction:

With a design pulsating with elegance and power, the Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron takes us on a unique journey through the world of electric vehicles, embodying a new concept that integrates sustainability and absolute elegance with athletic performance.

The Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron stands out with an exterior design that combines elegance and sportiness, featuring dynamic lines that give it a modern and attractive appearance. The Sportback version is characterized by its sloping rear roof, enhancing its sporty character. The front fascia features modern LED headlights and a medium-sized black grille adorned with the Audi logo with the four rings in a two-dimensional appearance. The Audi Q8 e-tron is the first Audi vehicle to bear the new two-dimensional Audi logo with the four rings, and it is also the first Audi vehicle to feature the letters of the Audi word on the B-pillar along with the model name.

78

One attention-grabbing feature is the absence of side mirrors on the car, which have been replaced by connected cameras with 7-inch OLED screens located on the interior sides of the doors, allowing visibility of the road and blind-spot alerts.

Additionally, the Audi Q8 e-tron excels in its category with enhanced driving dynamics, improved aerodynamics, and high charging performance. In addition to its battery capacity, the range extends up to 600 kilometers in the Sportback version.

Interior:

Bigger Battery and Faster Charging:

The vehicle is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 106 kilowatt-hours, and the vehicle's range is approximately 600 kilometers. Fast charging the battery from 20% to 80% takes 26 minutes, and from 5% to 80% takes 35 minutes.

Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron Engine:

The Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron is powered by two electric motors with a quattro all-wheel-drive system, generating a combined output of 408 horsepower and 664 Newtonmeters of torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.6 seconds, with a maximum speed of 200 kilometers per hour.

The interior of the Audi Q8 e-tron is no different from other Audi vehicles, featuring an elegant and luxurious interior equipped with the latest technology and all comfort requirements, with spacious areas. The interior is equipped with sporty seats for the front seats, featuring cooling and heating functions. The interior also features a fourzone climate control system.

As for the instrument cluster, it comes with a 12.3-inch digital display, and there are also two screens in the center console: an entertainment screen measuring 10.1 inches supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a climate control screen measuring 8.6 inches. The interior also features a panoramic sunroof.

SEASONALITY IN PROFIT

Calendar anomalies in profit returns are well documented. Less obvious is the existence of seasonality in profit volatility associated with moving calendar events such as the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Using a marketing strategy specification and data for the Saudi Arabian business market – now the largest market in the Muslim world –this strategy documents a systematic pattern of decline in volatility during Ramadan, implying a predictable variation in the market price of risk. An examination of trading data shows that this anomaly appears to be consistent with a decline in trading activity during Ramadan. Evidence of systematic decline in volatility during Ramadan has significant implications for pricing of securities especially option-like products and asset allocation decisions by investors in the Islamic countries. And over the past three decades, many empirical studies have provided evidence about the presence of calendar anomalies in market returns. Seasonal patterns in the form of the January effect and the day of the week effect are well documented anomalies. The January effect states that profit returns are higher in January than any other month of the year, especially of smaller firms. A variety of explanations have been offered to account for the excess returns during the month of January. Some of the more frequently cited reasons for the January effect include the tax-loss selling hypothesis, window dressing by institutional investors and undefined small-firm risk factors. The January effect is found in several countries around the world. The day of the week effect studies on the middle east markets report that the average return is significantly less than on other days of the week. Day of the week effect is also reported for other international equity markets.

THE RAMADANEffect

Unlike the fixed calendar events (January effect and the day of the week effect), which have been extensively examined, the effect of moving calendar events (such as Ramadan) on risk and return have not received much attention. Major moving calendar events such as Ramadan can potentially have significant effects on economic and financial variables. The economic activities in general tend to slow down with reduced working hours in virtually all sectors. Despite the fast, however, grocery sales go up during the month thanks to the evening “iftar” feasts. Similarly, electricity consumption is reported to rise because of increase in late night socio-religious activities and shopping.
