An additionally, its crucial to learning to setting healthy boundaries which are essential for maintaining healthy relationships. Here’s how to establish and maintain boundaries:

Identify Your Priorities by reflecting on what is most important to you in your friendships and romantic relationship. The revelatory exhibition organised by Lusail Museum and Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art will showcase over 300 artworks to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the artist’s birth

Qatar Museums has officially opened Seeing Is Believing: The Art and Influence of Gérôme, a significant exhibition that delves into the art and legacy of the renowned French painter and sculptor Jean-Léon Gérôme (1824-1904). In honour of the 200th anniversary of the artist’s birth, the exhibition is organised by the upcoming Lusail Museum in partnership with Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, and curated by Emily Weeks, Guest Curator, Lusail Museum; Giles Hudson, Curator of Photographs, Lusail Museum; and Sara Raza, Guest Curator, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art.

On view until 22 February 2025, the exhibition showcases over 300 remarkable works, organised into three interconnected sections that aim to invite a reconsideration of Gérôme’s art and artistic impact through both historical and contemporary lenses.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, accompanied by Dr Julia Gonnella, Director of Lusail Museum, and Zeina Arida, Director of Mathaf.

Seeing Is Believing provides a comprehensive exploration of Gérôme’s life and travels throughout the MENA region, shedding light on his profound impact on European perceptions of the Middle East and North Africa. The exhibition showcases iconic paintings from the Lusail Museum’s exceptional collection of Orientalist art, works from Mathaf’s collection of Arab modern art and Qatar Museums’ general collections alongside notable loans from prestigious institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Islamic Arts Museum in Malaysia, as well as private collections and art galleries.

In a groundbreaking approach, the exhibition pairs Gérôme’s historical works with contemporary art works and newly commissioned pieces from contemporary artists, including Babi Badalov and Nadia Kaabi-Linke. This dynamic integration invites visitors to engage critically with Gérôme’s legacy and consider its relevance in today’s global art narrative.

HOW TO REDUCE DARK UNDER EYE CIRCLES

Though mine are hereditary, therefore a lot more stubborn to lighten than dark circles caused by a lack of sleep. Years later and with a lot more experience under my belt compared to my teen years, my dark under eye circles has lightened significantly.” Says Nabillah .

Personally, I’ve learnt what works for me, and as a professional makeup artist, for many of my clients with under eye hyper pigmentation issues as well. Through trial and error, research, and a lot of experimenting with various makeup and skincare products I’m here to dish out some of my secrets.

IT STARTS WITH SKINCARE.

Hydrating eye creams and serums containing active ingredients should be used every morning and evening on the delicate under eye area. Look out for eye creams/ serums or cooling eye masks containing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump up the under eye zone, caffeine for reducing puffiness , vitamin C for brightening and fading hyper pigmentation, and vitamin K which can help to promote healthy blood circulation to the under eye area.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the fluids in the eyes and joints. It acts as a cushion and lubricant in the joints and other tissues. Different forms of hyaluronic acid are used for cosmetic purposes. Hyaluronic acid might also affect the way the body responds to injury and help to decrease swelling

Retinol, a popular ingredient used in many anti-aging eye creams, helps to tighten the skin around the under eyes, which naturally thins with age. Retinol also helps to reduce texture which can make dark under eye circles appear worse. Licorice extract is also an effective ingredient in brightening and fading the appearance of dark under eye circles if used consistently.

Chemical acids that help to lighten and fade dark under eye circles caused by an over production of melanin are kyogic acid, transanxemic acid, and glutathione. Gentle glycolic acid or lactic acid peels are also effective at lightening pigmentation under the eyes. Look out for eye creams and serums that specifically contain these ingredients and with regular use you should see an overall improvement in your of dark circles.

Aesthetic treatments such as Dermal Fillers or injectable rejuvenating hyaluronic acid boosting treatments helps to increase hydration and plumpness to the hollows of the under eyes, thus reducing the appearance of dark under eye circles.

Laser therapy, a more invasive treatment for quicker results helps to stimulate blood circulation and collagen production which effectively helps to fade hyper pigmentation and texture under the eyes.

Micro needling and PRP (platelet rich plasma) are minimally invasive cosmetic procedures used to lighten dark under eye circles. Micro needling helps to build up your own natural collagen production and helps improve in fading pigmentation and improves the texture and tightness of the skin under your eyes. PRP uses your own blood plasma which is rich in growth factors to promote collagen and elastin production. Minimally invasive and invasive procedure should always be performed by an experienced aesthetician.

Certain vitamins can also help with your stubborn dark circles from the inside out. Vitamin B6, B12, C, K, and iron can significantly help. Foods rich in these nutrients should also be consumed regularly such as dark leafy greens, celery, tomatoes, citrus fruits, organic berries such as blueberries, blackberries. The darker the berry the better as they increase oxygen and blood flow to the skin around the eyes. Dark berries also contain a large amount of vitamin C.

Whichever treatment you decide on based on your individual needs, it’s important to incorporate movement into your lifestyle at the gym, while getting enough sleep, do regular facial massages, lymphatic drainage massage, acupuncture, managing stress levels, eating a balanced diet and drinking plenty of water during the day.

What is a Calcified Tooth? Causes, Complications & Treatments

A calcified tooth can develop after trauma, extensive decay, and ageing. Getting expert help from a dentist is vital to get the right treatment.

A calcified tooth occurs after some type of trauma. It is when calcium deposits fill the inside of the tooth and root canal. As a result, the pulp or soft tissue inside the tooth is completely obliterated and fills with hard, calcified tissue.

In this regard, Mrs. Tamani Al-Yafeai, CEO of Hour & Hour, emphasized that the program aims to be present in all cultural, social, national, religious, sports, and health occasions. She stated that the goal of this event is to raise awareness about women’s health, focusing particularly on breast cancer, the importance of early detection, and prevention methods.

The Hour & Hour program, in collaboration with the Qatar Cancer Society, the Women’s Police Institute, and the Primary Health Care Corporation, organized a breast cancer awareness event during Pink October. At the event, held under the slogan “A Window of Hope,” the program announced that this slogan would be adopted for future health-focused events.

Mrs. Tamani described the event, which was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jabr Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Cancer Society, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Qatar. It began with recitations from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem performed by students from Al-Khor Model School for Boys. The event honored partners, especially the Qatar Media Center.

The event also included an awareness discussion session titled “Hope Session,” attended by Lt. Col. Kholoud Anbar Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Women’s Police Institute representing the Police Academy, and a representative from the Primary Health Care Corporation Dr. Mohsen Al-Mismar., Ms. Aisha Al-Tamimi. The session, moderated by Fatima Al-Ahmad, covered key topics aimed at educating women on the necessity of early breast cancer screening and provided useful information for women. Ms. Aisha Al-Tamimi shared her experience with the illness, discussing her treatment journey and the challenges she faced.

The event featured an accompanying exhibition showcasing photographs and artworks by female artists who have survived cancer, as a source of inspiration to encourage women to believe that recovery is possible and overcoming the disease is achievable. This exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Dominican Republic Embassy, which displayed exclusive items brought specifically from the Dominican Republic for the event.

The exhibition included artistic and handmade works by recovered women, with contributions from Al-Khor Model School for Boys and Al-Dakhira Primary School for Girls,

whose artwork was displayed. Additionally, there was an Arabic calligraphy section and a photo corner to capture memories of the event.

The event was attended by representatives from various foreign embassies in Doha, businesswomen, media personalities, and civil society figures.

The CEO of Hour & Hour program highlighted the program's ongoing activities and events. Abdulrahman is inspired by the idea of his films from his heritage and culture, and he aspires to create meaningful stories through his artistic vision that aims to capture the essence of his roots and share them with the world.

Tell us about your film experience in general? and why have you chosen filmmaking as career path?

The film experience I had was a journey of exploration and creativity. I’ve had the opportunity to work on various projects, from short films to commercials, each offering unique challenges and learning moments. The collaborative nature of filmmaking has always excited me, as it brings together diverse talents to create something impactful.

However, I have chosen filmmaking as my career path after realising the importance of creativity in visual stories. Moreover, films allow me to tell stories that resonate with people. The creative of freedom—the ability to explore complex themes, evoke emotions, and spark conversations through visual storytelling—is incredibly fulfilling. Plus, the constant evolution of the medium keeps me inspired and motivated to grow as a filmmaker.

ABDULRAHMAN

With Qatar and other nations in the region aiming to diversify their economies, how do you see the role of film contributing to this transformation?

There is a significant and noticeable development and improvement in the film industry in Qatar and people generally are very optimistic about it. His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani the Emir of Qatar has announced that the production will be reliant entirely on local production in terms of economic, social, environmental, film, and media industries as part of “Qatar Vision 2030”. Therefore, my main motivation not only in filmmaking but in my whole career in general is to be part of “Qatar Vision 2030” and build a bright future for Doha.

In your view, what key developments or changes are necessary for Arab cinema to reach the next level on the global stage?

Filmmaking offers a huge opportunity to create awareness and really touch people.

However, it is one of the dynamic and creative processes that combine scriptwriting, Pre-production, production, post-production, and marketing. In my opinion, the key to development is to spread the film culture more widely through the regain، could be through courses, workshops, and film festivals, or even universities.

Your films have received numerous awards at prestigious international film festivals. Is there one particular award that holds special significance for you, and why?

I’m pleased and proud to be among the first Qatari graduates in film production through a scholarship sponsored by the country. Also, my films have been screened and awarded in international global film festivals, including the Dubai Film Festival, Manchester Film Festival, Gloucester independent film festival in United Kingdom

and most importantly, the Swedish International Film Festival. However, my recent achievement was receiving the award of Best Three Directors with honours mention, out of 400 projects and directors worldwide at the Athena Film Festival and receiving award of Best Asian Director with honourable mention from Swedish International Film Festival. These achievements have generated a lot of positive impact in

the Middle East, considered to be one of the first Middle Easterners to achieve it.

What is the role of film festivals and how important are these events?

Film festivals enable filmmakers to promote their work with in the industry. There are many different types of film festivals, some focus on international and domestic releases, others focus on different film genres or subject matter and others just celebrate films. However, I am glad to see my work screened in a setting where people can enjoy it. Overall, film festivals are vital for promoting artistic expression, innovation, and community within the film industry.

Reflecting on your experience with the 2022 World Cup, what stands out as your most memorable moment during the event's organization?

World Cup Qatar 2022 has shown a significant positive impact on the region and its people. I was officially one of the organizers and part of the media team at the World Cup event. This role was a great opportunity to meet the football fans and hear their positive thoughts. All the fans were amazed at the stadiums, the tourist locations, and the smooth transportation.

However, being one of the official organizers this role helped me to improve my management skills and organizing events. I can tell surely it was one of the best experiences I had.

Of all the films you’ve directed, which one holds a special place in your heart, and why?

I have worked on many films and projects, but “Commitment is an act not a word” is my favourite project so far, due to the positive reactions from people and the media in general, and the distinctive artistic path that contributed to enhancing understanding and health awareness among the public.

Looking back on your journey as a filmmaker, what is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned along the way?

The main lesson I have learned not only in my filmmaking career but also in my life, in general, is to make your ambitions always high and far. When you believe ambitions are limitless, you will reach places you never thought you would reach. This lesson helped me to be the person I’m proud of today.

To kick off the evening, I was served a plate of deep-fried prawns with wasabi mayonnaise. The prawns were perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and succulent on the inside. But it was the wasabi mayo that made the dish come alive— sharp, creamy, with just the right kick to wake up the palate. Following this, the chicken dumplings arrived, delicate and tender, each bite offering a burst of savory goodness. It’s clear that Ruby Wu’s doesn’t hold back when it comes to ensuring their appetizers make a lasting impression.

I loved the balance of the space—it feels cozy without being cramped, with just enough distance between tables to maintain that buzz of energy without sacrificing personal space. As I settled into the plush, deep-red chairs, I couldn’t help but admire the little details: elegant porcelain plates, delicate bamboo placemats, and touches of jade green that added a serene contrast to the rich reds and golds around the room. Ruby Wu’s manages to capture the essence of a traditional Chinese dining hall, but with a modern twist that feels effortlessly chic.

But the real star of the starter lineup was the royal crispy duck with pancake. Served with thin pancakes, hoisin sauce, and fresh cucumber slices, this dish was pure indulgence. The duck was roasted to perfection, its skin golden and crispy, with the meat inside juicy and flavorful. There’s a certain ceremony to assembling your own little wrap, and the satisfaction that follows that first bite is simply unmatched.

Chef Austin Yang’s creativity really shines through in the main courses. The Angus beef was nothing short of spectacular. Cooked just right, it was tender and flavorful, with a delightful char that added depth to the dish. Another highlight was the fried rice with egg and porcini mushroom. Often treated as a side dish at many restaurants, here it took center stage. I’ll admit, by the time dessert rolled around, I wasn’t sure if I could manage another bite. But when the pandan cake and pineapple tart were presented in front of me, resistance was futile. The pandan cake was light, airy, with just the right amount of sweetness—its subtle flavors perfectly balanced with the richness of the other dishes. The pineapple tart, on the other hand, offered a burst of tropical sweetness with a buttery, flaky crust that melted in my mouth.

And then, there was the mango pomelo sago, a dessert that embodies the essence of summer. Creamy and refreshing, the sweet mango paired beautifully with the tartness of the pomelo, while the sago added a delightful texture. It was the perfect way to cleanse the palate and bring the meal to a satisfying close.

My journey began with Eggplant Lurma, a smoky, herb-filled dish that danced on my palate. Each bite took me deeper into Azerbaijani tradition, where the simplicity of the ingredients let the flavors shine.

Fish Lavangi: Flavors of the Caspian Sea

Next came the Fish Lavangi in Fire Salt, and what a revelation it was! Fresh from the local Al Wakra Market, this fish dish was tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The fire salt gave it a bold twist that lingered long after the last bite.

There’s something about stepping into a restaurant inspired by a movie that elevates the whole experience. It’s not just about the food anymore; it’s about being transported to a world far away. That’s exactly what happened when Leslie and I ventured out to The Italian Job restaurant at Radisson Blu Hotel on Salwa Road in Doha. Inspired by the iconic 1969 film, this Italian gem promised more than just food — it offered entertainment, nostalgia, and a hearty dose of Italian charm. And I must say, it did not disappoint.

Ambiance: A Themed Delight

From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with a warm, rustic interior that transported us straight into the heart of Italy. You’re surrounded by movie memorabilia, of course — after all, it’s based on The Italian Job — but the real charm lies in the cozy, trattoria-like atmosphere. The open kitchen, the rustic wooden tables, the low-hanging lights; it all made for a setting that felt simultaneously grand and intimate.

But the highlight? The singing waiters and waitresses. Imagine being serenaded with classics while you enjoy your meal — it’s something truly special. At one point, Leslie and I exchanged glances and grinned as a lively rendition of “That’s Amore” filled the room. The entire dining experience was so cinematic, it felt like we were part of the film itself.

A Feast for the Senses

Now, let’s get down to business –the food. Italy is known for its rustic, no-nonsense approach to cuisine — and that’s exactly what we found here. Fresh ingredients, simple preparations, and flavors that just sing (literally, in this case).

We started with the Zuppa Di Lenticchie Crostini Di Pane Aromatico, a hearty lentil soup served with aromatic bread. It was earthy, comforting, and exactly the kind of start we needed for what was about to be an indulgent evening. Leslie opted for the Zuppa Di Funghi Essenza Di Tartufo Crostini Di Pane, a mushroom soup with a delicate truffle essence. The truffle’s aromatic notes danced with every spoonful, offering a luxurious twist to an otherwise humble dish.

Next came the Mozzarella Al Forno Funghi Pancetta Essenza Di Tartufo — baked mozzarella with mushrooms, pancetta, and, once again, a drizzle of that irresistible truffle oil. The mozzarella was gooey perfection, while the pancetta added a lovely crisp, salty bite. For those who adore truffle like Leslie does, this dish is a dream.

Fresh from the Sea, Savory from the Land

For our mains, I couldn’t resist trying the Ravioli Ricotta E Spinaci Burro E Salvia — delicate ricotta and spinach-filled ravioli drizzled in sage butter. The flavors were rich yet light, with the sage butter offering a hint of nuttiness that brought it all together. Leslie, being a seafood lover, went straight for the Grigliata Di Pesce Con il Pescato Del Giorno — a mixed seafood grill featuring the catch of the day. The seafood was grilled to perfection, each piece tender and full of that subtle, ocean-kissed flavor that only fresh fish can deliver.

We also couldn’t resist sharing the Frittura Di Gamberi E Calamari, fried shrimp and calamari. It’s a dish we’ve had plenty of times before, but there was something particularly special about this one. Perhaps it was the crispy, golden batter or the fresh, succulent seafood inside. Either way, it was delightful.

The Grand Finale: Desserts

That Sing

No Italian meal is complete without dessert, and we had our hearts set on something sweet. First up was the Pannacotta Vaniglia E Cardamono Coulis Di Fragole — vanilla and cardamom panna cotta with a strawberry coulis. It was smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The cardamom added a warming spice, while the strawberry coulis offered a sweet and tangy contrast. Leslie declared it her favorite, but I was still holding out for the Tiramisu.

And I wasn’t wrong. The Tiramisu was heavenly. Light, airy, and just the right amount of coffee-soaked sponge, it was everything you’d want in this classic dessert. We ended our meal with an Affogato Al Cafe, a scoop of vanilla ice cream drowned in rich espresso. It was the perfect way to cap off a night of indulgence — simple, yet sublime.

Why The Italian Job Stands Out

As we sat back in our chairs, Leslie and I couldn’t help but reflect on what made The Italian Job such a standout. Of course, the food was top-notch — you’d be hard-pressed to find fresher pasta or seafood. But it’s the little touches that make it special. The themed décor, the singing waitstaff, the careful attention to detail in every dish. It’s a place that doesn’t just serve food; it serves an experience.

Would we return? Absolutely. Whether you’re a fan of the movie or just someone looking for a memorable night out, The Italian Job delivers on all fronts. As we walked out of the restaurant and into the warm Doha night, I found myself already planning our next visit. And isn’t that the sign of a truly great dining experience?

XPENG Global and Almana Group represented by Pioneer Motors, have officially signed an agreement designating Pioneer Motors as the exclusive distributor for the state of Qatar. The signing ceremony took place at the prestigious XPENG Global headquarters in China, symbolizing a significant milestone in the collaboration between the two esteemed companies.

Representing Almana Group at the signing ceremony were Mr. Saoud Omar Almana, Vice Chairman, and Mr. Bader Omar Almana, Managing Director.
