ASSOCIATION (FMPA)

The Football Medicine & Performance Association (FMPA) is the independent representative body for medical and performance practitioners in professional football.

Members consist of doctors, physiotherapists, sports scientists, performance analysts, sports therapists and soft tissue therapists as well as allied healthcare practitioners such as dentists, podiatrists, nutritionists and psychologists. The FMPA is a non-profit organisation.

Mission Statement:

To support the practice of medicine, performance and allied professions associated with (professional) football.

Vision Statement:

To create an environment where all facets of player care and performance are delivered to the very highest standards.

INTRODUCTION

The FMPA Conference & Networking Event 2024 will take place on Thursday 23rd May at the Radisson Blu East Midlands Hotel in Derby. As many of you will remember this is a fantastic venue which has hosted all but one of the FMPA Conferences over the last 10 years.

The FMPA Conference is THE medicine and performance event in the professional football calendar, combining excellence in educational content and superb networking opportunities for members and business partners alike.

The programme “Contemporary issues in professional sports medicine and performance” is designed to offer ‘something for everyone’ and will be presented in a manner that appeals to all disciplines and at all levels of the game.

CONFERENCE

The FMPA Conference offers excellence in education content delivered by respected and valued colleagues, members and international speakers.

The programme “Contemporary issues in professional sports medicine and performance” is designed to offer ‘something for everyone’ and will be presented in a manner that appeals to all disciplines and at all levels of the game.

The Conference this year is aimed at a wide variety of subjects to give practitioners an idea of the medical and performance aspects of our game We will be looking at the high-end performance strategies, through to how managerial changes affect us all on the M and P side. We aim to encompass the world of the Women's game, Academies and also how external practitioners are currently working alongside medical departments to better serve our players. We will also cover how the world of nutrition works and how this has changed dramatically over the last few years.

We are lucky to have so many highly qualified, experienced and knowledgeable speakers here on the panel and they will all come together at the end of the day as a round table to answer any of your questions
