EVALUATION

I think the masthead could be improved my making it a brighter shade of blue to make it stand out more from the background image

How does your magazine represent particular social groups?

What aspects of your work are you pleased with and why?

What aspects of your work could be improved and why?

I perhaps could have used less colours as it may be a bit overpowering with the blue, orange, and yellow and green so this could be improved by just using two or three colours.

I think the Photoshopping of this part of the image could be improved because the fill colour I used to cover a clothing strap does not quite match the skin tone here.

I am pleased with my cover image because I think it accurately represents a student because the model is holding a folder of her work and the model has her student lanyard showing which has the connotation of being a student. In addition she is wearing her choice of outfit which I think depicts the individuality of each student.

I am pleased with my cover lines because I think the yellow really stands out from the background and I think the sans serif font is modern so would appeal to my target audience.

The image could be improved by Photoshopping out the wisps of hair that are blowing in front of the model’s neck. However, overall I am pleased with the picture as I like the use of the direct gaze and the picture fits with my research of what my target audience want as it is in front of a college building.

I think the text with the barcode of the issue number, date and price could be improved by putting it in a different font and making it a larger font size because it is difficult to read.

College Magazine Evaluation

I am pleased with my use of the front cover here because I think this makes the magazine more coherent as it links the front cover with the contents page.

This would perhaps be improved by using less colours as there are too many colours that are clashing and making it harder to read and I don’t think this use of colour would appeal to my target audience.

I am pleased with my images as they show a variety of things to do around the campus and they effectively represent my articles.

The folios could be improved by making them a different colour because the blue is hard to read against the pictures so they would be better in black.

This could be clarified so it is clear to the reader that it is referring to the different eating places on the college campus.

The folios need to be moved so they line up.

The contents page would be improved by making use of this blank space here. This could be used to put in social media logos and contacts as these would appeal to my target audience.
