Hot-desking Feedback 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. Does the masthead colour and font reflect the genre of the magazine (classic rock)? Yes the masthead is very clear and shows that with the picture it is defiantly a rock magazine. Yes, it suits the genre well however (I’m not sure if this is indesign or you) I wouldn’t have the red a light brown together. Yes, although if you were to have an outline on the Masthead, I would create a much thicker line, or none at all if that didn’t look right. Yes it links well with the genre. The masthead is a bit low. Yes I think it works really well, but I might use a more monochrome colour scheme to connote the vintage nature of classic rock Yes, it works well with the genre Yes, I think the font works well with the genre, but I think that the colour could be a bit more monochromatic to fit in with the theme 2. Would you be able to read the masthead from a distance? Yes it is very clear but the colour which is brown doesn’t really stand out against the dark yellow background perhaps just change to darker brown or black . Yes, the masthead is clear from a small distance. If you wanted it to be clearer I would just make it a little bolder? It could at a small distance, though as said before, maybe to make it clearer you could add a thicker outline or introduce a different outline colour to make it stand out easier. Yes, easily noticed. However not much bright colour, but your image makes up for it. Yes, it’s very effective, but again the monochrome colour scheme may make it contrast more Yes, it does, however adding a white border or some shadowing would make it stand out more

I think that from a distance, the masthead could blend in with the cover photo if the colour is kept the same. 3. Do you think the images adhere to the conventions of a double page spread? I am not sure what this means but yeas the images link with the contents page . Yes they do. I would add another small one on the right side of the DPS though  Depending on the contents of the DPS (I assume it’s an interview) and therefore if it’s an interview then it works very well. The image works as it’s the same person so your magazine follows through. However I am not sure on the same pose. Yes, although the smaller image could be placed to the side to make room for another image that would allow for more visuals to attract your TA The poses are very similar which makes your magazine repetitive, but the dps image works well with the way you are choosing to display your interview/article Depending on how the interview is presented, the images would work well with the theme

4. Do you think the masthead stands out from the background? No as I said in question 2 it’s a little drowning in the background.

Not really, I think you’re better off by giving it a bolder colour.

Not too well, refer to Q2!!! The background is more eye catching than the masthead It fades into the background slightly, but a monochrome colour scheme might help this (^:

Not really, your image gets lost in the background

No, I think it could blend in with the background when seen from a distance.
