The second Holy Year of the 21st century is to be celebrated in 2010. The Jubilee Year of Compostela has been celebrated since the Middle Ages, whenever the feast day of the Apostle Saint James, 25 of July, falls on a Sunday. The Jubilee usually takes place every 5, 6, and 11 years. The last three years in this cycle were 1993, 1999 and 2004 and the following ones will be in 2010 and 2021. The religious celebrations begin one year before in the evening of the 31 of December, and end on the same day one year after.

Music of Saint James Routes:
The Codex is an amazing document of 1150, lost for many years and rediscovered in the year 1886. The Codex is an example for a sinfonia (two voices singing in hardmony). The Codex is a series of books dedicated to many stories related with the apostole.
Different styles of art in Saint James Routes: -Romanesque: Used in the domes, barrel vaults, and reinforced at intervals by arches or transverse. -Gothic: In which pointed arch, needles, pinnacles and gables are used. -MudĂŠjar: the brick used as core material of architecture. -Neoclassical: Among the general characteristics of Neoclassical is the noble simplicity and great composure of style.

History of the way of St. James The way of St. James (Camino de Santiago) has existed for over a thousand years. It was one of the most important Christian pilgrimages during medieval times. It was considered one of the five pilgrimages on which a plenary indulgente could be earned (Jubilee). The others are the Via Francigena to Rome (Italy) and the pilgrimage to Jerusualem (Israel), Liebana (Spain) and Caravaca de la Cruz (Spain).

Gastronomy: The main atractive of Galician gastronomy is her variety. Its dishes are varied and plentiful. “Qeimada”, octopus, broth, “cocido”and shellfish are tipical Galician gastronomy.
