EL LONDON RUNWAY
EDITOR'S LETTER Welcome to the November issue of London Runway! I’m going to sound like a Mum when I say this, but I am, so I’ll say it anyway: I can’t believe the end of the year has come so quickly! But it has - and in these pages you will find the shopping event of the year: our coveted Christmas Gift Guide!
Make sure you check out all of the wares on display. They all have our seal of approval on them, and you’ll be sure to find something that suits someone you love. Not only that, but something for yourself - so feel free to leave these pages open on the coffee table for a certain someone to stroll by and notice. Maybe circle the ones you want just to drive the point home... Don’t miss out on going all the way to the back of the issue this month, as we also have an exclusive giveaway for you. Catch all of the details here and then head to our Instagram to enter - and you could put an extra present under the tree
without having to pay a single penny!
On the next page, you’ll find a brief article on the subject I brought up last month: the upcoming changes we’re moving towards for next year. You’ll see that it’s going to be a huge upheaval of everything we’ve done before. Change can be scary, but it can also be really, really good. When it’s necessary to make changes, the best way to do it is in a way that will improve and enhance everything going forwards, and that’s what we believe we have done with our plan for the future. I’m excited now to be at the helm of this ship as we steer towards a new horizon. I don’t know what will be over that horizon, but I know it will be something good. I’m hoping for a tropical island.
That might just be my lack of a holiday talking. If my husband is reading this, you don’t need to go to the Christmas Gift Guide to work
out what I want. Just book a plane! Anyway, please do enjoy the marvellous work of the designers, photographers, artists, and creatives you will see in these pages. I’m a little biased as they include work by yours truly, but I do think we’ve put together a stunning issue.
The next time we see one another now will be in late December, right before the New Year - which means we’ll already have passed through Christmas. So, in that spirit, if you celebrate, I wish you a Happy Christmas - and if you don’t celebrate, I wish you a happy free time off/getting paid overtime at work for taking the shift no one else wants to do. It’s a great time for all. I’ll see you next month for the last issue of the year - and the last one in our current style. I can’t wait to be off already. The ocean is calling!

THE NEW
LONDON RUNWAY We reveal all on the big upcoming changes coming to London Runway in 2024. We’ve been sharing editorials, catwalk galleries, articles, competitions, giveaways, style guides, and more with you since 2017. In that time, we’ve seen many changes already: changing the frequency and length of our issues, introducing new features and saying goodbye to old ones, and, most recently, adjusting our format to contain many more images and fewer articles. Now, the biggest change yet is upon us. December 27th will mark our last issue in this current format. After that date, it’s all go on the new and improved London Runway. We’re going back to our roots to bring you coverage of catwalk shows and presentations at three key points of the year: London Fashion Week in February and September, and Graduate Fashion Week in June. Why? Because we’ve spent some time lately thinking about our purpose and mission, our goals and how we define them. Over time, as we grew, it made sense to expand our offerings: to add interviews and trend reports and think pieces and all kinds of exciting features. We loved those features and enjoyed our growth. But now as we reassess and look to the year ahead - to the decades ahead - it’s time to get back to what we know. We’re a live event magazine - catwalk shows and presentations. Always have been, always will be. It’s time to consolidate that and grow in that direction. This does mean we’ll be paring back in some areas. First of all, we won’t be sharing as many editorials - rather, we’ll focus on galleries. We’ll also take out all superfluous features that don’t support our goal of sharing fashion from London.
It makes less sense for us, now, to share 12 issues a year. There are only three major dates in our calendar - so why not focus on those? Now, you will be able to find London Runway on sale a month after each of the major fashion dates - in March, July, and October. Some things will stay just as you know them. We’re still coming out on the 27th, we’ll still be hanging around on Instagram to share our favourite looks with you, and we’ll still feature new models and new fashion businesses. Some things will get bigger and better. We’re going to share more fashion doubling our print length to ensure we can fit in as many shows as possible. Our main focus and aim now is to be the one source you will always be able to rely on to collect all of the season’s fashion looks in one place. We hope that over time, you and many other readers like you will come to trust us as your one-stop shop for an enduring record of London’s fashion scene. Gone will be the days of covering fashion long, long after it happened like the shows you see in this issue, some of which happened back in September, because we simply didn’t have the space to cover them until now. Gone, too, will be the distractions: our new, sleek, clean look will give you fashion and endless fashion, with nothing else to turn your head. Except, of course, our beloved handpicked advertisers, who we will always endeavour to present to you as the very best in sustainable, ethical, small business, and slow fashion brands out there. On this page you can see a few mockups of what we believe our new issues will look like - although with so much time between now and the first of the new issues in March, that may be subject to change. We hope you enjoy the new look. If you’ve been featured with us until now, we’d love to see your tags on social media - share your shots of the mag and we’ll stick them on our stories!

MEN'S FASHION TAKES THE LEAD AT YORKSHIRE'S FASHION WEEK A fashion designer said his dream came true when he showcased his latest designs at his first fashion show in the UK here in Yorkshire. It was also the first ever Fashion Week Yorkshire which was attended by celebrities. The designer from Plain by Seye Adeseye Ifaturoti said: “We don’t see enough menswear in the mainstream. I create stylish smart clothes that make a statement like a luxury motor does. “A lot of men enjoy looking good in a tailor-made suit which makes them feel good, just like their vehicle. Our clothes and car can be symbolic and show prestige.” The 27-year-old moved from Nigeria to London to develop his fashion brand Plain by Seye Adeola. After recently launching his latest collection at Fashion Week Yorkshire which was held in Leeds, Adeseye aka Seye is set on building a fashion empire for men all over the country. “My designs are inspired by AI, cutting edge technology and the luxury automobile industry. Smart, powerful, sleek and stylish while helping a man to exude confidence when he wears my pieces.” One of his UK collections saw him collaborating with esteemed brands such as Khan Automobiles Khan’s is a British Automotive firm renowned for its bespoke luxury vehicles and wristwatches from Truck Company Wristwatches. Seye said: “Bridging the realms of fashion and automobiles and my brand being active across two continents has been an inspiring yet challenging journey. Looking ahead, I have a vision to wholly establish the headquarters of my brand in London. This strategic move will not only broaden our reach to a global audience but also represents an aspiration I’m eager to realise.” He added that in the 21st century, it’s clear that the fashion industry’s future
hinges on the evolution of AI and technology. Seye said: “I am determined to be one of the pioneering few who drive this transformation, identifying and seizing opportunities that pave the way for advancement in the world of fashion.” Seye’s latest collection Demption was launched at Fashion Week Yorkshire held at Oulton Hall Hotel in Leeds and is about empowering people through sustainable style. He said: “This collection isn’t just about fashion; it’s a statement about feeling confident and powerful in your own skin. The fashion industry has a responsibility to be ethical, and I want to lead the way by incorporating sustainable materials and practices into my designs. “This collection, featuring three-piece suits, the inventive pleating suits and
PAGE 77
blazers, is more than just clothing; it’s a journey of self-discovery and personal redemption. The materials used, such as wool and suede, represent quality, durability, and style that stand the test of time.”
About Plain by Seye Adeola: Plain by Seye Adeola is an innovative fashion brand founded by Adeseye Ifaturoti. The brand is committed to sustainability, empowerment, and pushing the boundaries of contemporary fashion. Adeseye Ifaturoti, a dedicated advocate for ethical fashion, seeks to inspire others in the industry to embrace sustainability while delivering stylish and impactful designs. @plainbyseyeadeola

NEW BUSINESS NOLUXURY
Name of company: NoLuxury @noluxury_official Type of business: Clothing brand Location: London / Milan
What are your company values? We pride ourselves on being authentic, embracing the present and working with only the highest quality materials.
How long has the company been running? NoLuxury has been running since 2020.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a business? The key to starting a business is having passion in what you do. By having passion, the work you do for your business will be a pleasure and will not feel like work. Consistency is also very important to ensure your business grows and keeps your customers engaged, always wanting more.
Where did the idea come from? I had the idea of creating a streetwear collection back in 2018 when I first arrived in London from Italy to start a new experience. I felt the inspired by the fast pace of London and quickly understood London was the home of creativity and knew I could bring together Italian design with British trends and create a memorable brand. Currently, how many people work for the business? Three people currently work as part of the NoLuxury team.
Where do you hope the company will be in 5 years time? Wow! I hope the brand name will be recognised by most as a competitor within the streetwear industry. Also for NoLuxury to have it's very own store. Somewhere where customers feel welcome to come and touch the exquisite fabrics and try the clothing on themselves.
